  1. Hi Jay, Installed this afternoon, they look great, heaps better than the tatty old ones. Lazy bastard here went for the easy option and used a stapler rather than sewing , but you'd never know coz it's all hidden under the console. Thanks again.
  2. Haven't been in QLD that long so haven't been to too many tracks. I agree, you need good timing and karts of equal performance so everyone is on a level playing field. Parklands sounds good from your description....what's the fun if you don't have your heart in your mouth every now and then
  3. Definitely 2 stroke!!! Brisbane kart hire has good 2 strokes but the track is pretty boring (the old Archerfield track (they have moved somewhere close by but haven't checked it out yet)) Willowbank is a nice and more demanding track with some nice long straights and good corner combos, but the majority of the karts are 4 strokes, apart from 1 or 2 rotax's which a heaps of fun. I would be extremely keen if you are organising an event/corporate day.
  4. Hey Predator, re: your profile R33 go-kart, do you mean the 33 handles like a go-kart, you drive it like a go-kart, or you have a go-kart as well?....just wondering And on the subject of go-karts, do you guys ever do like a SAU kart day thing?
  5. Classic JL....did he skulk off and hide after that? How could I have forgotten the excels...... as mentioned above, $16K+FMIC+Turbo and other mods=they may as well have bought a REAL performance car....wonder if their insurance co. know about the mods?, and if not, they are gonna have a VERY hard time making a claim if the day ever comes that they have to.
  6. OK...I hope I don't offend anyone here, BUT What's with these people who beleive their car companies advertising re: their cars being "performance/performance bred" Obvious case in point is Lancer drivers. Hehem...excuse me but an EVO bodykit does not make a standard Lancer a performance car (probably slows it down if anything) Next are the Astra drivers (the non-turbo ones), who always want to have a go...ummmm WAKE UP!! Then there are the "soft-roaders", in particular Honda CRV "sport" drivers, closely followed by RAV4 drivers. Ummm, just because Honda stuck a "sports" badge after the name doesn't mean it actually has any performance value. The wife and I don't seem to be able to go a day without one of these try-hards wanting to have a go at the "traffic light grand prix" (She drives an 03 WRX). I find it quite amusing when they line you up at the lights and absolutely thrash the shit out of their car, trying to prove they can match you. Most of the time I just let them go and don't even bother. Let them have their imaginary victory I reckon if it makes them feel better. I'm sure they tell their mates "you should have seen me run this WRX/skyline/etc today....I smoked his ass" LMAO Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't really find it interesting unless there is going to be a decent challenge. V8 drivers are different because they simply NEED to be taught a lesson. Don't get me wrong, I am a car enthusiast through and through and can appreciate a wide variety of cars for different reasons, but if your going to buy a run of the mill car and think it's something that it's not, then that's just stupid. Anyway I just thought I'd post up and see what other types of cars people had experienced this phenomenon with, so let the list begin. :flamed: asbestos undies on :flamed:
  7. what was the additive you used in the diff Jay? I got some of the Nulon G70 stuff and it says suitable for manual transmissions and diffs, including LSD's. Did the Gearbox last week with Castrol VMX80, but still got the crunchies, so thinking of doing it again with the Nulon additive. A bit of a waste of oil/money, but at least I'll know it's had a good flush.
  8. Is that the one as you just come over the rise and drop into that beautiful right-left chicane and then down to the roundabout?
  9. Hi Spectrix, Greetings and salutations dude  I reckon some day there needs to be a combined performance/turbo car cruise. Imagina a pack of like 60 skylines, rexes, etc cruising down the highway :headspin:
  10. lol...there is a rexnet cruise on the same day meeting at the same servo at 9.30 heading for Kyogle.......would make for a killer non-denominational performance car cruise :headspin:
  11. LOL....ONLY 7 months of this left.....then the real fun (insert sarcastic tone here) begins
  12. Thanks DJ_lethal, I will have a play with the adjuster.
  13. I think he was talking about tyres....Bob Jane - Toombul Anyone mind if another n00b tags along tonight?, ie. Me That's if the pregnant/hormonal wife will allow it ( I live my life walking on egg shells atm :Paranoid: )
  14. Hi All, Please excuse the n00bity..... I have a couple of questions relating to the Turbosmart Type 2 BOV (V port I believe) that is fitted to my car. I'll preface with a quick rundown on the car (which I have recently purchased, all mods already done - previously owned by a member of this forum) R33 GTST - Above BOV - Unifilter Pod - EBC set to 10psi - cat back exhaust - SAFC2 Questions: 1. If I replace the Turbosmart BOV with the stock one (I like to keep a low profile  ), am I going to have to get the SAFC2 retuned? (apparently it was tuned on a dyno with current setup). If so, I will probably hold off on this action as the purchase price + insurance + rego has drained the fundage for the moment. The Turbosmart has a "hard - soft" adjustment. Atm it goes off even at lowish RPM, even under 3000 (when I presume the turbo isn't developing boost). I know if I ease off the throttle rather than lift off normally it wont go off, but I don't think I should have to compromise my driving style just for the sake of a BOV. 2. If I set it to a "harder" setting, will this force it to go off only at higher RPM? If the answer to question 1 is a definite NO, would anyone be interested in swapping the Turbosmart for a stock BOV? (with slight cash adjustment) Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  15. in negotiations atm, will get back to you if it falls through. Thanks for the response.
  16. I have been offered 1 for $50. If you can do better than that including postage let me know. Cheers
  17. Does anyone have a standard BOV for an r33 gtst? Preferably in the Brissy area Also after a standard airbox if anyone has one available Cheers
  18. are there any side skirts on offer?
  19. i would be interested in the dump pipe and cat too
