Embarrassingly enough that was the problem all along.

Quick question. I've got an r33 gtst. Had a fuel leak on the hose before the fuel filter. Replaced that and the hose after the filter because why not? Now my fuel pump makes a ticking noise on prime up and the car turns over and won't start. I've got flow through the fuel filter. After some trial and error I pulled the fuel regulator off and primed it up and no fuel is getting through the reg. Is the fuel reg stuffed?

Thanks mate. Coping well with the 265's with unrolled guards at the moment haha. Would love smaller wheels with a deeper offset though
-
Those wheels look familiar Don't see many with buddy clubs. What size tyres are you running? Get much scrubbage? Here's mine

Fuel issue is solved for now. New 040 fixed is. As stated pump was whining really bad. By the end of it, it was struggling to get up hills. No I don't believe that'll be anywhere near sufficient and I'm no mechanic, man. Some of the other fellas will be able to help you out on what fuel system to run for that power as I've never had that much curry behind my wheels before.
-
Only started stuffing up once I took it down to the tuners and filled it up in Melbourne. Never have any issues with fuel in the country Maybe theirs is stirred up more becuase of more frequent filling and usage? Well I'll see how long this one lasts then I'll move to Walbro.
-
Ahh lovely. I've got another 040 on the way. Will see how she goes
-
So plenty of room to move lol
-
What sort of power are the standard size fuel lines hold up to?
-
Don't know that I'll need the 460 fellas. I dont really plan going over 300rwkw at this point but will keep all the info in mind
-
No I don't have a wideband currently
-
Might look into a walbro then if that's the case. You think it will affect the tune much if I went with a walbro? Just got the car back from tuners a couple of days ago and my tuner is located 3hours away.
-
Thanks, Reflector. Will keep that in mind!!

From what I've read thats an E85 specific pump. I don't have access to that fuel unfortunately. So did you go with that pump, Terry,or did you go down a different brand?
-
Still having issues. Car sometimes breaks down at 5000rpm, sometimes 6000. Most noticable in 2nd gear. Think I'll order a new 040 on Monday or maybe even a Walbro 255?
-
Sounds silly but Istuck the vacuum cleaner on the end of it try try suck out any crap haha. PM'd, Greg

I've got the pump out. Is there any way recommended to clean the mesh. It doesn't look too bad, then again I've never seen one properly before
-
Pump is probably 10,000kms old, never had any issues before but will definately pull it out and check the filter mesh. Thanks fellas. If it needs a new or bigger pump, am I able to change it without affecting the current tune?
-
Well no, I don't have a wideband unfortunately. Had a quick look over it for broken silicon couldn't see much. Made sure coilpacks are in tight. Haven't checked plugs yet.

Greetings everyone. Just got my R33 GTST back from the tuners an hour ago after a 3 hour drive home. Car was running great with the new turbine housing until I got home. It's breaking down on boost. It's jerking and popping/backfiring. Noticed my 040 is louder than normal and is making a constant buzzing noise that it didn't before. Is it possible that it's on its way out or that its got really hot and over worked on this current 35C+ day? Running 240rwkw GTX3076R Wolf 3d v4 Cheers PS Tuners phone is busy, cant get a hold of him at the moment
