BIG SPEC R33 GTR or R33 GTR WITH BLOWN MOTOR
BakemonoRicer replied to BakemonoRicer's topic in Wanted to Buy
thx for reminding me big fella. SERIES 3 only -
Anyone out there with a big spec 33R.... or alternatively a 33 with a blown motor. Chassis must be rust-free, straight and no accidents. White is first preference.

nice bits... the question is...will you be able to keep up with the ricecake at wakie..... i'll be holding it flat through the kink with ~310kw m8...then hard on the brakes & hot into the first corner....powering out with the force of 1000 naprec's
-
Is anyone actually interested?

time to order a 2.8L crate motor from NAPREC mate : ) -
Time for an update.... Shit just got real, Emtron KV8 is paid for so is the S15 to KV8 adaptor harness. No haltech on this build.... Braided turbo lines are all done. Ended up going with 45 ° fittings for the coolant from the block, not enough room for a straight or a 90 ° . Compression ratio without the squish pads & with 0.06mm skimmed off the head is 8.3:1 - which for me is exactly what I was hoping for on the stock bottom end. Aluminium fabrication is underway, intercooler pipe from passenger guard to the turbo is all done, so are the brackets to mount up the radiator breather tank & radiator overflow tank. Also, dimensions for the custom oil catch can & power steering resovoir are done & will be mounted close to strut tower on passenger side. Have been waiting on a K&N air filter from SummitRacing for over 4 weeks now - its out of stock at K&N...must be cause it has a fancy carbon fibre housing. This is delaying the fabbing of the intake pipe. GRR. Exhaust fab will be underway soon as well.... will be 3.5" from the turboback with the gate plumbed back into the dump pipe. SMB oval muffler at the rear to keep things looking neat. Will be spiced up with a dumpy tip ; ) Not even gonna bother with 98 anymore - now manning up and going E85 flex life - currently speccing up the fuel system with Paul & Scott so it'll be complete madness. Woohoo

Dan, going back a year ago I had a certain S15 owner with a Mazworx SR23VET talk me out of going an EFR7064 1.05A/R TS, claiming the rear housing is too big & they're completely overhyped. Following his turbo advice is how I wound up with a 3071R aka 2835 Pro S & open scroll. After going for a ride in Piggaz BCNR33 with an EFR, I realise now the bloke has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Do we all occasionally receive a bit of misinformed advice along the course of a build.... I think most of us do. Oh well. Anyway - the car will still be a complete farkin fruitcake to drive.... the turbo will perform its just not the best turbo out there... Happy to sacrifice a little bit of performance with the oil cooler, I didn't put it at the front wheels as S15's sit bloody low to the ground & I really don't wanna risk ripping the thing out if I ever come off at the track.

Still shaking from just how COMPLETELY f**king mental this car is.... Was absolutely pinned to the seat....with my life flashing before my eyes as the RB28 pulled harder and harder with every shift....... In a split second you've run out of road......nek minnit hard on the 6 POT brakes & damn near flying through the windscreen from the stopping power of a russian army...... There was a point in 4th where it actually felt like I swallowed my stomach.....the pull is JUST MENTAL all the way through the rev range. Once we were back to the house, I clambered out of the car and collapsed on the ground in the fetal position.... it felt like I'd gone 10 rounds with george foreman.... A twin setup, to put it simply, has absolutely farknnnn nothing on the Piggaz 2.8L/HKS Head/EFR combo. The transient response of the EFR is absolutely unreal... its hard to put into words just how good it is, but put simply there's not a turbo out there that could come close. The power is literally just "THERE", right at your foot. It's instant & completely useable. When you're feathering the throttle it behaves like a highly strung N/A....and once you're into it it's like you've opened the gates of hell.....HOLD THE F**K ON M8..HOLD THE F**K ONNNNN... Lag.....what lag? THERE IS NONE. Wanna take a corner at full noise? Yup, no problem. The car is so damn composed and balanced that its actually possible to drive the car for everything it's made for......the car is literally how every GTR should be built......... fkn build of the decade. Rating: 10/10

Nrma Vintage And Classic Insurance
BakemonoRicer replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Walkoau, don't be naive, a heap more bad apples more like it.. You don't think fraudsters and thieves lurk public internet forums? Wrong. Cop it on the chin.... it's like fight club, when you find something good in the insurance world, you keep it to yourself and only tell people you trust. As soon as the real world finds out.......everything is ruined. NRMA VVC is a prime example of the fight club theory. -

BakemonoRicer replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Did a ring around today as I bid on a BCNR33 in tokyo today. Put in a bid of 45.5k....~48k won it. Values for GTRs are through the roof right now. Rang up NRMA classic today asking if I could get insurance, before I even mentioned my age or detailed the car....they said will no longer insure skylines AT ALL. Super nice lady that I spoke to but I dare say this thread is a big reason you blokes are now locked out of getting insurance..... social media is a powerful platform.... Skyline claims as of this year tripled ..... so go figure. Moral of the story, when somethings good keep it to yourself dont advertise it on a public forum on the internet. Pwned. -
Nrma Vintage And Classic Insurance
BakemonoRicer replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I generally think the 33 owners are the most low key of the bunch.... So does anyone know if R33 GTRs are still getting insured? Is it just 32's and 34's that've been banned? -

BakemonoRicer replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
LOL!! yuppp! I do recall back in the mid 00's my cousin paying an f'Ing fortune for insurance on his BNR32 - because GTR's were getting stolen left right & centre, plus getting written off. I'd dare say GTR's have become as popular again as they were back then, if not even more popular....... so I can only assume the exact same thing is happening all over again..... -

As someone whos been in the market for a BCNR33 for 10 months.....probably wise to opt out now given insurance will be a fortune for the thing.....thats one less buyer for a GTR already. Time for plan b of a v8 E92 M3 -

Do wonder if the ability to buy a GTR for 35-40k and insure it for 80k then write it off has contributed to GTR values increasing..... -

BakemonoRicer replied to walkoau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
With all due respect - I really think this thread contributed to the downfall of NRMA scheme, especially with insured values being advertised. Not even the Nissan Silvia community (incl. the dregs of society like myself) have been naive enough to post detail about this excellent insurance umbrella on a forum platform. We all know the interwebz is a playground for fraudsters looking to make a quick buck...... Sorry to hear you can't insure your GT-R's anymore..... -
cylinder head is re-assembled with all the fruit. still a lot to do but getting closer & closer. assembly was done with parallel strips as its more precise than the factory recommended dial gauge method. engine builder commented naprecs machining is some of the best he's ever seen, and this guy has built plenty of 1000hp+ drag motors. Tolerances are all to within 1 thou which is magic, to put in perspective how tight it is, factory is 10 thou. polished exhaust port turbo/manifold mocked up
