  1. LOL I havent driven the car since I took it for a drive when I got my full licence (based on advice from everyone). My driving style always is extreme ultra super late braking. Front brakes are fine, rear brakes are metal on metal. When I had my drive after I got my full licence I just relied on engine braking by downshifting early... and then quickly pressing the brakes firmly to pull up to a stop. Wakefield RaceTrack When I had my trackday on July 25th, The rear brakes became metal on metal in my last session, and naturally I just thought optimistically and assumed I was getting pretty severe brake fade and that my pads were just on the replace indicator (little metal shavings to warn you that your pads need to be replaced). The rear end felt very unstable and very twitchy as the metal on metal brakes at the rear weren't grabbing evenly, and I really had to manhandle the car to keep it on the track. Goes to show how good the front brakes for the S15 are, considering I was still cannonballing down the straight at about 160-170kmh.
  2. What auction grade is it? And can it be road registered?
  3. Looks like Terry_GT-R34 is going to snap the N1 R33 up
  4. Enjoying the sound of an SR is an aquired taste.... I love the grumbling roar! Oh my....that is amazing. But would have to give it a good look underneath at the chassis rails, underbody etc. Would also like auction papers to confirm its a grade 4 or above.
  5. FYP Loud exausts are boss. I just hope my one wont be too quiet!!! Hope it sounds something like this
  6. I've heard it was a Midnight Purple R33 GT-R from a bloke who knew the guy.
  7. Don't doubt it, especially considering I'm only 20 so I dont think I will be treated very nicely at all. Btw, who has seen this article..... http://www.maitlandm...rt-told/?cs=171
  8. Snapped a picture of my catback....the TIG welding looks awesome HKS says its 93Db (I assume the point where exhaust noise is measured)....so I'm not sure if thats with stock cat/stock dump pipe. I've got a CES Racing front/dump and getting a 200 cell hi flow cat.... so with the addition of those and a few months of the exhaust burning in.... I assume it will be a lot louder than that! Don't know how strict cops are about exhaust noise....but with that operation hammer thing, I assume Id get raped by the police!
  9. Does your one carry on and make that rattling noise? The twin plates sound like a big box of rattling bolts, love the way they carry on !
  10. Yeah, lag isnt good! Response is where its at! I had a little drive of one of my mates mates S13 in Sydney several months ago.. it had a forged motor, rollcage, bucket seat, t28bb hi flow etc. Had about 240rwkw from memory and it was stripped out so the car weighed bugger all. it was that moment I realised I f**king love twin plate clutches, only because of that cool rattle noise they make when the clutch is pushed in. Only thing that is a bit of pain in the arse is getting off the mark, but gear changes are so crisp and smooth! Anyway the guy took me for a drive to show how it goes when its opened up, anyway thrown back in my seat by 3000rpm and started going sideways by 4500rpm and safe to say I shit my pants. Felt a lot faster and less safe than the 370rwkw R34 GTR single turbo Ive been passenger in (which completely opened up at around 5500rpm)
  11. My infrastructure development assignment is 180 pages now and still not finished. FFS Motivation has all but dried up.
  12. -Drop out of uni -Buy R32 GT-R V-Spec II in mint condition, get it built to 800ps by Auto Select -Buy Toyota Supra RZ 1997 model Non-VVTi in mint condition, get it modified to 500ps with all supporting mods for my daily driver -Buy S13 Silvia two tone in mint condition -Buy Honda NSX-R -Buy a mansion in Sydney, Melbourne, Osaka. -Live off the interest.
  13. Most likely before the nats, just waiting on the rear pads to come in! Brake install will be slotted rotors, changing fluids, new hoses for calipers, new pads, and new hardware kits.
  14. I'll make my official import debut on the next cruise with the S15 if all goes to plan! It wont look so out of place like the commodore did at the Charlestown cruise haha!!
  15. Gave a maroon R32 gtst a wave on Saturday near Greenhills
  16. Hahaha nice!
  17. NFI what im looking at, but good to hear boost is back
  18. Matt, I've sent you a PM and just realised you have organised someone to do the paint, so my PM will be irrelevant haha!
  19. I think the adrenalin from racing around the track will keep you going haha.
  20. Ruxis, just do an early morning run to Wakie... Theres bugger all traffic at 4am in the morning, you'll hit sydney at 6am, miss most of the traffic when the sun is rising and get to Wakie by 8ish. Thats probably when I'm leaving. The old man is probably tagging along with me to come spectate, he used to have a stack of old cars like a couple of worked LJ Torana's, VK Group A Brock Commodore etc...wish he didnt sell them. He's even been talking that he wouldnt mind doing a track day in the S15 haha. Also, found out my aunty sold an immaculate 260z (with original bonnet scoop - rare as f**k) for $2000 several years ago because it had engine problems. Facepalm.jpg. My uncle did something similar when he sold his SLR5000 Torana for bugger all (ages ago due to packing the shits from getting hassled/defected by the police all the time). Moral of the story, don't sell nostaglia vehicles, HOLD ON TO THEM haha.
  21. Thanks Wedge, What sucks is that since the 10 month hiatus from having a non turbo FR, I've readjusted all my habits to suit the FF layout in the '90 corolla (which has no power steering), so getting used to the whole FR layout again in a turbo car is a bit of a steep learning curve. The S15 has about 100rwkw as everything is stock, but I feel it has enough power to be a handful. That said, even though I got a 1:19 lap time at Wakefield first time driving the car, in all honesty, I think I have a lotttt to learn which is why I need to be very careful for the first year or two.
  22. Wow, Just had a very eventful evening. Got my full licence and decided to celebrate! So I took the S15 for my first proper drive with it on the street. Felt so good. ....suffice to say got a few strange looks when I hit the brakes (metal on metal on the rear). But could not wipe the smile off my face! Felt good being able to drive a turbo FR Also just waiting on the rear brake pads to come in then the brake install will be ready to go! Whos in for a convoy to wakefield for the SauNats?! Im looking at you Chookie Ruxis 34GeeTeeTee
  23. Hmmm, thats definately food for thought Eric. It is a bit worrying thinking the whole cruise organiser liability thing. As a preventative measure, I think a safety policy would be a good idea for unofficial cruises....and if people dont abide by this safety policy then they will be asked to leave the cruise and wont be welcome on another cruise.
  24. Just trying to think out of the box at the moment, not arguing haha! I just think there are many loopholes.... I suggested those ideas to a couple of my mates who study law at uni and they seemed to more or less agree with me. An organised event is considered different from a statement indicating from where someone is travelling on a specific day. For example, if I said " I am travelling from charlestown square shopping centre to the Newcastle foreshore" and then a bunch of cars decide to follow me there, I am not liable for any of their actions (at least I would think). That said, I still do think there'd be some element of risk.....=\
