  1. Liability cannot be attributed to someone who makes a statement indicating they will be travelling from Point A to Point B. The person won't be responsible for the actions of anyone else travelling in the same point of travel, as the person did not organise them to be there and thus is not liable for their actions. Making a statement is different to directly organising a cruise. There are a lot of loop holes...and it would be very hard to proove things that are on the internet.
  2. A specific car club in Japan had very particular policies and would go about organising things a certain way. Back then there wasnt internet so usually there would be an advert in the paper saying someone was selling handbags (or another item) , meet at Point A between say 11pm and 12pm, which was the cue for a run with the other cars. Just an example of their way to go about things in terms of organising. Here are my thoughts If you post a thread stating that you will be cruising from Point A to Point B, you are making a statement. It is up to other peoples interpretation of that statement that will determine whether they to drive from Point A to Point B with you. This is not an organised event so to speak. If a cruise is organised via a member on a car forum, there is no direct evidence that the owner of that username was the one that posted it, therefore liability cannot be attributed to the user who posted that there would be a cruise (on the internet). If a bunch of similar cars are seen together via the cruise, it perhaps may be coincidental that similar cars are cruising in the same direction of travel. Who is to say the owners of these similar cars even know each other? I see plenty of camrys on the freeway, yet I dont think they are travelling on a cruise. Contrastingly, I think perhaps the reason SAU needs insurance because they are the organisation who is responsible official SAU sanctioned event, and therefore they are liable for what happens on this cruise as it can be prooven they were responsible for the organisation of it. I think that anyone wishing to "accompany" a person from Point A to Point B within the SAU newcastle community, must abide by a very strict policy on safety. If you were ever a threat to yourself, the other people accompanying the person, or the public, you should be asked to leave immediately and not participate on any further cruises.
  3. Lets just go to the Wangan, we'll meet at Daikoku Futo carpark THEN OFF TO THE WANGAN
  4. You're thinking into this too much Ruxis. SAU can be held liable when they organise a cruise because they are the organisation in charge of the forum. The fact is, a user on a car forum won't be held liable for organising an unofficial cruise simply because there is no proof that it was you exactly who posted the car meet. Whilst it might have come from your IP address, doesnt mean you were the one using your account at that time. I'd think that you can only be held liable if you admit to being at fault for organising the meet at the scene of the accident. That is considered evidence.
  5. I wouldnt worry if I was you, the whole reason imports are popular is there performance. The whole video was pretty tame with only a few 2nd gear pulls so in my opinion nothing to worry about it. Even videos like this have pretty much flown under the radar
  6. LOL, I like the fact your R34 is driven how it should be.
  7. Knew thatd happen....thought they might catch wind of the cruise from the forum. Inb4 defects start happening
  8. This is why the import scene in Newcastle is dying. Newcastle is 10x worse than Sydney for import owners. Ive actually enjoyed cruising around Sydney when I had my S13...never got negative police attention. I think because there is a lot more modified cars in Sydney the police are a bit more lenient if your car is modified tastefully. I believe that if you show your car and police respect, you should be given a fair go, but clearly that doesnt happen in Newcastle. Anyway, I wouldn't be suprised if the Po Po end up making an appearance on the Old Pac cruise
  9. Oh okay, saw a glimpse of a white one that looked similar to yours (also same style wheels) at the panel shop as I went past...initially assumed you must of left it there to get a quote for a spray job or something
  10. Matt, did your R34 happen to be at a panel shop today???
  11. R34's are a bit too fancy for my liking... My favourite Nissans are the S13 and R32 GT-R. S15 is also too fancy for me, as it feels way too new for my liking. Thinking of just selling S15 soon, as so tempted to replace it with an S13 (would import one from Japan). Old chassis's such as S13 and R32 GTR make things seem a lot faster.
  12. 9 days till I get my full licence ....not much longer now till I have freedom. Whats the spec list T4NK? Did you go with oversize pistons etc?
  13. Couldnt just wait for it to become more than 15 years old?
  14. MJH, wouldn't mind being passenger if Melissa isnt coming anymore. I have a pretty good video camera that I can use to film the cruise etc Just need to get an SD card
  15. What happened once the theives crashed the car? Did they hop out and try to get away on foot?
  16. Encountered some carnage on the way home from the gym, still trying to piece together what happened haha...anyone have any ideas? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OD0VN3t11E
  17. Chookie, don't go to low or handling will be negatively affected by things such as bump steer and so on. Ideally, you want your control arms to remain a bit above the parallel point, and you dont want to go below the parallel point. When my S13 was lowered my control arms were still sitting a pooftenth above parallel....it got dropped 38mm in the front and 28mm in the rear.
  18. Amazing build thread. Would love to get a build done in similar fashion to this one down the track for my S15 once I'm out of uni and have a well-paid job. John Skola seems like a genius, it's a shame this is the last build he is doing.
  19. Will let you know once parts are organised.... Will shout a case of beer etc unless youd rather cash Also, I would sell my left testicle for this Supra
  20. Lol dude, way too difficult. I dont have any tools haha.
  21. Nah, thats okay because a vehicle will be fine when repairs have been done properly haha. When you cant see your reflection in a rear quarter panel, you know something hasnt been fixed correctly. I've inspected some S15's with absolutely cringeworthy repairs done to them.
  22. Your 34 looks straight as.
  23. Yeah, but if you look at that one, the bonnet is lined up perfectly on the left, but actually overlaps the headlight on the right. Meaning the car has probably been hit on the right and it hasnt pulled out properly. So the body is what is causing the bonnet to be out of alignment. Speaking of train wrecks, theres a blue S15 on carsales at the moment for 16k that was in a rear end accident where the boot was in line with the rear window (glass shattered etc). Hate to think how many kg's of bog that thing is carrying. No one has bought it yet thank god EDIT: just read the "this is a skylines forum" part hahaha.
  24. Look at this S15, shes asking $16k and its clearly been in a front ender. Look at the horrible alignment of the bonnet and drivers side headlight. " Owned since new, Its in perfect original condition, its just had some paint chip touch up work done to ensure you get a car that looks as good as it drives." Yeah right... And the ad http://www.carsales....82+903&find=s15 200sx spec s |CarAll&silo=Stock&num=15&sort=default
  25. The only WRX worth getting is the 22B WRX 2 Door. Shits on Evos and is as rare as anything. Don't know what Subaru were thinking with every follow up model after this one =\.
