  1. I'm not going to SAU Nationals..... Mechanic said he won't be able to work on my car till January.... and apparently you need these special tools to properly install pads/rotors/hardware kits on an S15. =\ I dont even care about the other mods, just want the brakes installed so I can drive the thing for when I get my full licence.
  2. Kumho KU36
  3. Well that was my first time driving the car. Car had no mods, borderline metal on metal brakes, a passenger, a full tank of petrol, leaking struts, high rear end (due to strut sag in the front), and stock everything when I set the 1:19 laptime. And I wasn't pushing it to hard because I didn't want to risk crashing. Sooo, if the mods get the mods installed....I expect to shave a bit of time off. I mean, even with just the full exhaust system I'll gain around 40rwkw, and HKS coilovers and alignment arms will mean much sharper turn ins etc.
  4. Yeah, hopefully I'll be able to take out the Std Rwd category if I enter. I should have a good shot providing all the mods get installed. Some of the guys at Jdmstyletuning have offered to help me install some mods but I'd have to travel down to Syd. Was thinking great idea, then realised I don't get my full licence for another 30 odd days....facepalm.jpg
  5. I think every car enthusiast group has a car noob (me being the noob). Anyway, I'm off to pester the mechanic to see if he can have brakes done for the S15 before SAU Nats track day (at minimum).
  6. Corinne, are you entered into the track day for SAU Nats? Std RWD? Are you going to be using the MKIII Supra?
  7. Haha, I'm not trolling. I am trying to become more D.I.Y minded, so it seems the easiest D.I.Y thing that I can do is delete things haha. I've still got to see the mechanic about brakes, I dropped by the workshop at around 5.30pm yesterday and everything was closed up =\ I need to get one of those last 15 track day spots
  8. Hahahaha. If you think about it, weight reduction is the CHEAPEST way, to improve power to weight ratio. E.g. Stock S15 = 147kw/1200kg = 0.1225kw at flywheel per kg of weight now if I was to delete 150kg out of the car....then this is what would happen 147kw/1050kg = 0.14kw at flywheel per kg of weight To put it in perspective I'd need to be making 168kw at the flywheel to achieve a power to weight ratio of 0.14kw/kg with a 1200kg S15 Thus!!! 168-147kw = Equivilent of 21kw gain
  9. Latest weight reduction modification.. (Deleted the plastic number plate support) Before re-installing the number plate Weight saving of 70 grams
  10. Stage 3 is taking a dump before going for a drive (typically deletes 1-2kg of mass)
  11. When I had my S13, I was planning to order some quality Pinoneer sound system stuff. They produce good quality gear from what I've heard.... If you get a double din headunit, you can run the HKS camp system off that ...which eliminates the need for gauges. My factory Cd player has locked me out and wont accept the pin code I found in the manual. Faceplam.jpg I like the way the last owner thinks.
  12. Hahaha win. Yeah, my way of thinking is that if they slap you in the face by doubting your credibility as a car enthusiast, slap them back when they come running back offering insurance.
  13. Shannons more or less refused to insure the S15...said it was rating 7 for a high risk car and they are more or less not interested in insuring unless its for a ridiculous amount and with a lot of restrictions on the policy. The area I live in is very quiet and never any crimes etc. So much for supporting car enthusiasts....=\.
  14. The 21st Oct is exactly 6 days before I get my full licence
  15. Lol dude, I know you're only joking around etc. I didn't get you in trouble with Ash haha. Anyway, I'm off to drop by to the mechanics to ask about brakes!!!
  16. Might get flamed for this, but unfortunately the thing with alarms/immoblisers is that "smart" thieves usually know how to bypass them quite easily. They do however, delay the thief from stealing the car...and they help with getting cheaper insurance. But thats about it. I'm going to be getting 3 kill switches installed (in non-obvious locations). So if a thief bypasses the immobilisor, he wont know where the switches are and the car won't start. Only thing you're left vulnerable to with kill switches is getting towed. Highly recommend them if you're worried about your car getting knocked off.
  17. I was going to run the HKS GT Extension Kit but Streeter told me it had been discontinued. Would of been ideal as I would have had way more ground clearance. Plus, the design was very good for response. Instead, I bought a used CES Racing Front/Dump Pipe off a wrecked S15 (had a slight crack near one of the welds, but mechanic said he would weld it and it will be fine). The mechanic has a contact who makes the hi-flow cats and he recommended I get a 200 cell one.
  18. Yellow Shark 33 GT-R - Awesome sound at 1:00 T78 33 GT-R!
  19. Ant, have you considered the HKS V-Cam System.. http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/products/engine/rb26_vcam/index.html Costs about $7,000 though (not including shipping from Japan)
  20. PM'ed you. And lol Matt
  21. There is never any police on the F3 freeway between the hours of 1am and 3am.
  22. Is anyone here a fire safety engineer?
  23. Lol...a man can have dreams! 33 days till I get my full licence. Also got the shits with uni assignments, as some lecturers use the "problem based learning" style of the course as an excuse to provide these vague, indirect answers to questions. Contract Admin Assignment 1 + 2 = 32,000 words total (good lecturer who is very helpful, but I am a wizard at this subject). COMPLETE Fire Safety = Assign 1 7500 words + X (2nd assignment Im having trouble with) + Assign 3 2000 words = 9500 words + X Infrastructure Development = done 2 quizzes (structural eng + geotech), but havent started the infrastructure report which I expect to be 20,000 words. But lecturer refuses to help anyone with the vague assignment brief which can be interpreted many ways. MacroEconomics = Elective subject which I am pwning. Workload is absolutely ridiculous and I basically have no social life or Vitamin D atm. Havent seen sunlight in days. Fire is due oct.25th and Infrastructure is due nov.2nd
  24. I'm not very happy with the paint on my car...it's all original but it's in pretty meh condition. Also I've noticed a small crease just about the wheel arch which is causing a sort of swirl effect....sooo In all honesty once I get the money I'd like a full respray... Just need to get the VIN number of a MNPIII R34 GTR and buy the paint from Nissan....might have to bribe someone who owns a MNPIII R34 (you need to own a MNPIII R34 GTR to be able to buy the paint from Nissan)... ORRR, i wouldnt mind this blue colour
