also. the standard rb25 intake camshaft has that big lump on the end for the VCT which i believe is part of the camshaft itself yes? so i got some poncams say, would that then mean i wouldnt have the vct? or do they include the lump aswell? surely someone can clear that up for me Cheers again

Hey all Car came off the dyno today. only made 160 rwkw with the rb26 cams. The tuner said there is definately a fair bit of room left for more but the cams are holding it back Its struggling to idle at anything under around 1200rpm and at that its making bugger all vac. over all he said he reckons the cams could work. but the cam timng is way off. i said i had been recommended to try +2/-4 but he said even if it is a few degrees out it wouldnt be that bad... seemingly i shouldnt rule the cams out yet as they might still be ok. I was told to just adjust the cam gears all the way on way. see how it goes for vac on idle. then turn them all the way the other way and see how that goes. Does anyone know if th GTR cam gears are timed the same as RB25 gears? as in when mine are set on 0/0 would they be in the same spot as if they had stock rb26gears? cos he was thinking makybe the gear is a tooth out. though for the 25 cams they are perfect. so we thought maybe the rb26 gears are different out of the factory.. so if i have repeated my self a bit. just dont really know how to type what i want to say hehe anyone done this before? Any help at all would be appreciated. also, on a side note ... would the top half of the intake plenum off an rb20 fit on an rb25? Cheers guys

my car is in the same process. the motor is in using Rb25det Series II motor RB20det Gearbox RB20 Loom, (modified) RB20 ECU RB25 throttle body with rb20 TPS RB25 coilpacks and injectors, So far has cost me around 2000 and the car is running putting a microtech in this week. final cost will be around 3000 running. I have been doing this over the last 2 weeks so info is still fresh if anyone needs any help. just ask Cheers

Hey guys, Well after all that (putting RB25 into R32), i think my thrust/release bearing has collapsed. So while replacing that i wias thinking of just replacing the whole clutch.. Currently it has an Exedy Organic clutch in it. but i was reading up and saw the Exedy Cerametallic ones and they looked pretty nice. but when i googled it i couldnt find any info at all about it in australia. The car will most likely be around the 200rwkw mark What sorta clutch would you recommend? only have around 400 for the clutch alone. fitting etc can be done at my house. And where from? Need it asap. Thanks guys.

well i ordered a Microtech LT-8s today, along with hi flow cat and 3inch pipe from turbo to cat. also getting my cooler piping made up tomorrow... want to get everything done on the car before taking it in to get a tune so save on dyno time... as in dont want to get it tuned., then change something on the car and need to go in for another tune would rather spend the money on something good.. either way that means i wont realy get before and after dynos... but when i get them i will post them up here for people to geeze at anyhow.. who knows. there might be some rb25 owners that would like to throw some rb26 cams in theres btw, the cams i have are out of a 97 R33 GTR V-Spec II Cheers

yeah. no VVT. also using the RB20 computer which doesnt seem to be liking it much.. ABout to buy a Microtech LT-12s to see how that goes. Had trouble with the TPS working on the RB25 computer... currently using RB25 throttle body with RB20 pin, rb25 rocker and rb20 tps. lol using RB25 injectors. RB20 ECU with modified RB20 loom. no igniter with RB25 coilpacks. all seems to be ok but ECU seems to be struggling.. hopefully microtech can help that Please provide comments and suggestions

Hey guys, thought i would whack some RB26 Cams and adjustable cam gears into my RB25... I originally had the gears on +2/-4 as recommended by SK, but this didnt really work at all... would run up to 3k RPM, then stop and studder and not know what to do all the way to 6.... Put the cams back to 0/0 for now untill i can get it down to the dyno for a retune. Car seems a little nicer, seems to have lost a little down low but also wants to go a little more above about 4k RPM The car will know not start unless i give it a little throttle.. Seems not not want to idle at any less than about 1100rpm, but im not posative thats cam related yet... Dont have before or after dyno sheets so cant give an exact gain. But i do have ears and it definately sounds the part now. when i first started it and stood behind the car almost sounded like i was standing behind a big block V8 ... up high it sounds a little harsher, a little tougher i reckon Thats about it for now Any questions welcome

Looking for about 100 each. or will sell both for 180 ono. each guage comes by itself. dont have th boxes they came with anymore or anything else.. just the guages Both include globes. Cheers

Hey all Decided to sell my rims. They are Stern Face-II Beast. 17x8 at front and 17x9 at rear They are a 3 peice rim made in Japan, And i think the centre is forged. Comes with 255 rubber at the back in not bad condition and 235 rubber at the front that i dont think would pass roadworth due to wear on the edges. The rims them selves arent exactly in perfect condition... centres are all ok but the edges have some gutter scrapes... is on all rims, could possibly get the outer part fixed? i dunno. but they arent buckled or anything like that. They have been like that since i got em, got em from a mate who's mate's R33 came to australia with them on about 6 months ago... they have been on my 32 gtst ever since.... Due to condition i will let them go for only about $600ono... I have not seen them for sale in australia but i have heard they could be around about 2500 - 3000 new... but not sure. not in a massive hurry to sell but they are here ready to go if anyone wants em.. i have been using my GReddy Profec Bspec II for a while now, i like it. seems to do the job. i have never used any other elec boost control. so i cant really compare it to much. but i was using a bunnings style bleed valve before that and you cant really compare

well i guess this thread is pretty much over, but for what its worth i have 235 45 17 rubber all round and use around 28 on the rear and 32 ish on the front.. seems to work well for me... Though i do have bilstein shocks, whiteline springs, and whiteline sway bars, i seem to notice a lot of inner wear on the rear tyres.... ?

sorry to hijack. but i have a similar question I am also in the market for a front pipe.. but i still have the stock dump pipe, so i was looking at just getting a turbo to cat in one sorta deal.. But i am in the process of putting an RB25det into my R32.... will i need a R33 or R32 pipe? or will i have to get some sort of custom deal? pretty sure its a series 1 motor, and i have heard they use the same front pipe as an r32? jsut need some confirmation thanks in advance
