Strange problem since new suspension
Memph replied to Memph's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well it does have an aftermarket steering wheel... And the hicas comes on and goes off when ever it feels like it... but i thought that was due to the steering wheel and it didnt really mean much. ahh well. i'll invest in a hicas lock bar some time soon and see what happens... can this cause any long term damage? and yes. the car was alligned after suspension change. and again about a week ago after tyre change. cheers for the help. -
Hey all Well a little while ago i got some new suspension fitted. That being bilstein shocks and whiteline springs (whiteline package). and since then i have put on cusco strut braces and whiteline sway bars. anyways, in terms of the allignment. its pretty good. but the steering wheel changes position betweena bout 60 and 100kph like its pretyt much dead straight up to around 60... but then as you accelerate to 100 youh ave to turn the wheel to the left to keep going straight... like you slowly turn the wheel between 60 and 100 to keep going straight. and then at 100 the wheel is then about 30 - 40 degrees to the left off straight. then it goes back to straight when you slow down again.. and obviously if you just hold the wheel straight. instead of turning it to the left. the car actually steers to the rightwhen accelerating from about 60 to 100.. ish. never heard of anything like this before... anyone know whats going on? then a little while ago someone said my car wasnt going straight forward... sorta hard to explain. but from the outside. (mate following my car) he said, say if the car was going straight up the screen.. it would look like this | | going straight up. yet he said mne was like / / that. yet still going straight up the screen. if anyone can understand that . lol Any ideas anyone? Thanks guys oh. btw its an 1992 R32 GTSt Thanks again

I have a Monza SSQ, (i know its cheap, but dont laugh, it came with my car ) anyhow... it has a very similar design... and i was having a look at it last night... and when i cover the outlet of the bov with the palm of my hand it tries to suck my hand in, like i can feel it suck my hand... Is this bad. is my bov leaking? i dont really see how it can affect much as i guess it would be different if it were to be blowing while i rev it... as then it would be leaking boost. but if its sucking. is that bad? i have nfi Cheers guys.

willing to seperate the shift kit? -
Hey all, just in the process of working out what to do with my blown RB20, was thinking of getting mine rebuilt. But i have been offered a RB25 bottom end. just wandering if its possible to whack an RB20 head on a RB25 block? is it even worth doing? Cheers

OS Giken Super Single clutch kit
Memph replied to Player_Hater's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
would it fit to a RB25 equipt R32? if so then im pretty keen -
yeah maybe. mine would often gp to around 17PSI sometimes though... either way. its happened now and im over why it happened and more into what i can do to fix my car. im thinking of doing the RB25 conversion and keeping the RB20 timing case and making it look like a normal RB20. Where in melb can i get an R33 halfcut? or working RB25?
-
i just spoke to him through email, he said they dont do work on RB20's and that i should talk to some Dean bloke from Ultimate Performance or something but i think that was concerning the RB25 conversion which i dont really want to do anymore... i just want to get my RB20 rebuilt with stronger internals etc. Anyone got any other places that they know work on RB20's? Thanks all inark: i only the car for around 2 months or so but i think some of the reason for its death was due to over boosting as i ran around 14 - 15 on it sometimes when i got my new controller... though when it actually died it had been on 10 - 11 all night which is as low as i could get it to go on my controller. as in whyen it is set to 0 extra boost it still goes up to around 11 which i heard was normal for a stock turbo with aftermarket exhaust / pod filter so i didnt really worry about that.. oh well. seems i may come out of it with something a little better anyhow.. Cheers all

seems race pace dont really deal much with RB20's. any other place i could try? Where could i buy some forged pistons etc from?
-
i have gone off the idea of an RB25. i think i will just rebuild my RB20 with forged internals and a few other goodies. just dunno where to get stuff from... i tried racepace and they dont deal with RB20's

Hey all I have an R32 Gtst and the motor has karked it. so what i want to do it get it rebuilt, with some forgies, better valves/springs, GTR cams etc. Where in Vic could i get this done? or at least get the parts from? I think i can get most of the work done but just dont know where to get the parts? i can do the bottom end, but i guess i will need to get my head reco'd somewhere? anyone had any good experiences with anywhere in melb? If so where abouts? what did you get done? and how much? i have about 5 grand to get it all done but i want to budget in there some aftermarket management, so i guess around 3 and a half grand for the lot. Any suggestions. thanks all, much appreciated

was talking to a bloke who has done an engine swap in his silvia. he was saying it may be kinda tricky but its been done and blah blah. but then when i said i was getting after market management he goes, oh well that just makes everything so much easier, and it should be pretty straight forward then.. just wandering what difference it makes? in terms of the wiring loom or something? Thanks all

Well the other night, i was driving home when my boost went from 10 to 0.. didnt know what happened, so i downgeared and gave it some throttle and it went from 20vac back to 0... well, turns out. the little bit of metal at the end of th e spark plug that the spark actually jumps to snapped off, went into my 1st cylinder, bent an exhaust valve, went through the turbo and took out my turbine wheel and continued through my exhaust. by the way, its a 1992 R32 GTSt Manual So now im thinking of what to do next.. Its either, a) Rebuild current RB20 B) Buy replacement RB20 c) Buy RB25 to go in my R32 Im really leaning towards option c, but the thing is either way i will be taking out a 5k student loan. so thats all i will be able to spend. 5k. And if i get an RB25 i wouldnt mind getting aftermarket management in there aswell.. Reckon that could be done for 5k? Basically i dont need a whole half cut or what ever. But what would i need to get an RB25 working in my car? whats like the least i would need? how much you reckon it would cost? I have a guy who can fit the engine for me.. but that wont include a tune or anything. i guess that will be done when the computer is fitted (will be done at Maztech) So just need lots and lots of advice. Thanks all
-
I plan on buying a Microtech at the same time as changing my motor. and considering i will start with $5k, that leaves me with 3.5k for an RB25. but i really wouldnt mind having some left over. just dont really want to stay with RB20.
-
so do you pretty much have a complete RB25 there? i have an R32, and am in need of a new engine. thinking of going to an RB25 but dont really know whats involved...
