  1. kerb weight of the falcon would be closer to 1800kg and yours woulds be a bit lighter than 1650 i think... and/or maybe the dyno readings were innacurate.
  2. no sit in both and you will feel the difference, more back support. they also look different
  3. go the r33 gtr. more space, nicer interiors (better seats), brembo's, stiffer chassis, faster responding altessa.
  4. 170-185rwkw or there abouts...not very much..but easy to get 250-260 out of the stock turbos
  5. in my 33 gtr i get about 14-15l/100 average with normal driving, although can be a bit higher or lower depending on how i drive it... when my GF drives it it chews quite A bit less than my 4l ford (city driving), seen it as low as 11l/100km. the r is basically stock.
  6. no chance a stock gtr in the real world has about 240kw and is 250kg lighter+awd and will pull a flat 13... you have either never driven a 12sec car or you are smoking too much weed
  7. oh and dont waste your money on a new IC unless your after big hp
  8. hey Ben, I bought my previous GTR stock as a rock (stock exhaust). first thing I did was replace the stock clutch as it was a bit worn. next I put it on the dyno which put out something like 150awkw, and the stock boost was showing 12psi. we pulled out the boost restrictor (30 sec job) and boost went upto 14.5psi and power 170awkw. at this stage the car ran 12.8@ 106. On another dyno it showed 195rwkw. most guys here can push an easy 250-270rwkw from there standard turboed gtr's without spending big bucks. there an awesome car to drive around and easy to get good power out of them reliably.
  9. if you are driving a wrx i wouldnt recommend launching from high revs with a standard box...sure you can break boxes in gtr's as well but if your not too hamfisted with your changes it should hold up fine.. i would have done hundreds in previous 33r without any gearbox troubles
  10. 6.5-7G launches are best for gtr's. I had a good single plate in my 33r and used to drop it often on the street (good fun in the wet!), and clutch was still fine after a year
  11. I would suggest that your suspension is very firm and/or your tyres are not so good. check if they are damper adjustable, but even then if your suspension is adjustable and your tyres are no good you will not get good traction...so invest in some good rubber
  12. Hey guys ive just bought myself an R33 gtr again after driving around a ford shitter for over a year. Just wondering if anyone with FAST (or other means) can tell me if the gtr Ive got is a v-spec or not? Its still in Japan and there was no mention of it being a v-spec when i bought it, however it has an a-lsd light (although on a nismo cluster) and it looks like it sits lower than the standard R i had previously (no mention of AM suspension). the number is BCNR33000122. thanks
  13. I used to always wonder this before I got a gtr....'they cant really be very fast with only 206kw. that was until some fella in a 300kw gts' wanted to have a little squirt against my stock 33r.. off the line smoked him, however he hadnt had enough so tried to get away from me on a roll...lets just say he was very disappointed. 206kw I dont think so..i would say closer to 240-250.
  14. 13.2, i dont think so. With 260kw and all that barge it would be in the high end of 13's with a good driver ..
  15. As I have never driven an R32 GTR and Im considering getting one soon I was just curious to get everyones opinion on how different the altessa feels compared to the 33R (which i previously owned). on road is the altessa noticably slower on the 32, for example is the car harder to launch due to excessive wheelspin and is it easier to get it sideways. I remember that on my 33 I would get a bit of spin in the rears and then the fronts would pick up quickly, how do they compare? I understand that on paper the altessa is considerably slower on the 32 although i would love to get peoples opinions who have driven or owned both.
  16. i would say stock 33 gtr very low to flat 13's. although if your clutch is a bit worn it can be much worse as you wont be able to dump the clutch without it slipping like crazy! I had a new hd clutch in my old 33r.
  17. stock as a rock minus the boost restrictor 12.8@106
  18. 5 flat with a 7k clutch dump, maybe even just under with a decent clutch and sticky tyres. gtst probably under 7 but not by much
  19. In my opinion if you want to call your 33 or 34 godzilla that should be acceptable and i think a lot of people will assume gtr more so than r32...but i may be wrong. In the meantime ill refer my 33r as 'cinderella'
  20. although it wasnt an r32 gtr, my r33 gtr was the most reliable car that I have owned. I had it for about 1.5 years and all I had to replace was the standard clutch (after many hard launches) and just general maintenance such as oil and plugs. I payed good money for it and got a quality car...I would be cautious when buying one that is really cheap as it could be a time bomb, but then again you may come across a genuine bargain..so I guess have a good idea what you are buying and if you dont go with someone who does.
  21. not sure about the R32 GTR but my dead stock 33r went from 12psi standard to about 14.5 without the restrictor. boost stayed constant, no spikes and power went up by 20awkw.
  22. ive owned an 32 and 33 gtst and most recently had an r33 gtr. when the gtr was all stock except removed boost restrictor and HD clutch it ran 12.8@106. the gtst's i had, had mods similar to yours and would not even come close to the gtr. as much as I loved the gtst's, once i sat in the gtr I knew that I would never go back... go the gtr if you can!
  23. well priced imo. good luck with the sale
  24. thats an 80's ferrari
