I think with an emanage and front mount you should get close to 200rWKW. I also agree that it is running a bit too rich atm

GTR against Euro supercars?
marchGTR replied to marchGTR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
maybe I just wont try and post anything again.... I tried to make a fun post with hopefully some interesting experiences thats all.... the only euro/skyline drag that I know of is when leewahs GTR walloped a V12 Diablo from an 80KM roll, just wanted to hear some similar stories (good or bad) and not get into shlong comparisons between skyline owners. -

I never intended on making any comparisons between the GTST GTR. You should be intelligent enough to realise what I was trying to acheive by reading my initial posting. And yes I did readdress the issue by stating that I should have including skylines as a whole and not just the GTR in a latter post. either way this is stupid...I didnt realise there was so much tall-poppy syndrome around in a skyline forum. -

Read the whole thread before you post irrational generalisations... and I dont think that I or any other GTR owners in this post sound like wankers.. -

Are you really 30 years old??? (or just a little smart arse 16 year old??) Its actually quite amusing reading some of your posts..... good luck trying to maintain a 10sec skyline on a low budget. oh and good luck driving it in the wet (if you ever have a chance to be in a GTR like Leewahs, you will understand what traction with 600KW feels like on the road) -

Its funny how easily a thread gets diverted....all I initially asked was has anyone given any off these expensive eurocars a bit of a hiding.... I guess I shoud have generalised to all skylines and not just GTRs!!! oh well its all just a bit of fun -

maybe the Japs got it wrong? The GTST was really suppossed to be their supercar and not the GTR? If you are so anti-GTR why do you have a GTR spoiler on your GTST? -
GTR against Euro supercars?

Thats a very good time you ran. well done im sure you will beat me (not in the wet ) No I havent run my GTR as I have only had it for a few weeks (and I can tell you I payed a lot less for it than your GTST). for the cars you mentioned on the road it would be hard to match the times (even probably for you!) that you would do on a sticky drag strip with a 30sec burnout. even with my previous GTST I would have traction problems at 14PSI (I ran a 14flat Heathcote although my tyres were shit (I think the car would have been good for a high 13)). once I get an exhaust,PFC, cam gears, remove boost restrictor I shoud be able to run mid to low 12's...so any car that can beat me on the road or strip, I take my hat off to. -
GTR against Euro supercars?
marchGTR replied to marchGTR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yes Im sure there are cars that will blow a GTR. But there is not too much out there that will beat it easily out of factory. Ofcourse a GTST, running a bigger turbo, nitto's, and on a good track could beat a stock GTR (on the road probably not). I had an 33 GTST S2 before my GTR (had them both at the same time for a few weeks). the gtst had a FM, SAFC, 14PSI,and new tyres, and still couldnt keep up with my dead stock GTR(was even pulling away from a roll) (both cars running well)). So it would have to be a very well set up GTST to take a GTR. Also Im sure you have some mates in there VL's,torana', rotaries that will blow my stock GTR...big deal. Im sure you wouldnt mind owning a GTR yourself -
Nice car! not really sure, but I would imagine that somewhere around 30G, maybe more maybe less, depending on condition, mods etc.

I dont think that someone who has spent a million or so (not sure exactly) on a Maclarin F1 would be off to Mines in a hurry for any 'much needed' performance upgrades. -

I wasn't implying that a GTR would win around a track (stock for stock you hope it wouldn't). I was more interseted in straight line 1/4 mile stuff, and whether anyone has had a bit of fun on the road against one of these cars thats all. -
GTR against Euro supercars?
marchGTR replied to marchGTR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think it would take a very fast (expensive) euro car to give a GTR a 'complete beating'. I have got a lot of the 'top gear' videos at home and even some of the lambo's and ferrari's that they test aren't that impressively fast(some on the other hand are very fast). Just remember that there are some guys on this forum that have run high elevens with stock turbo's in there GTR's which isa very quick road car in anyones books. -

Na havent seen that one, although judging by what you have said I could see how a GTR coud beat one of these cars (especially on the road where some (not all) of the people who drive these cars can't pedal al that well. (no offense intended!) -
just saw a dvd of that Top Gear program (British) where they show a drag between an R33 GTR and a Maclarin F1. Obviously the Maclarin was much faster (looked about 2 seconds over the 1/4), but I was a little surprised that the GTR got it off the line. I guess im wondering has anyone with a GTR had a bit of a run against something like a ferrari or a turbo porsche(a bit slower than a maclarin!)?I could imagine that a GTR with a bit of work done (even on stock turbos) could give one of these supercars a bit of a fright from time to time! the first day I drove my GTR I pulled up next to a turbo porsche (newish one) who was tailgating me previously. Anyway pulled up at the lights next to him. I got the best launch, but unfourtunately he decided to roll off the lights like my grandma! oh well maybe next time. Anyone got a more exciting story? sorry if this thread has been done before but I couldnt find anything?

Are you willing to take 1G cash tomorrow? I am also SE suburbs. -
Yes I agree that the pre 96 interior of S13 is no where as appealing as the R32, although the 96+ models have nicer interiors that alteast match r32, R33 skylines (have really cool seats) and electronic dash display, airbag etc. very nice cars
-
Just remember that S13 were built till 1998. My girlfriend is driving a 97 model 180 now, and it looks a lot better than the old S13, and to my eye it looks better than a R32 and has very nice interior. obviously they are not 14G, more like 20G. stock my old series 2 GTST was quicker although once each car was running 10-11 LBS the 180 was quicker. The blacktop engine is also much better than redtop, so I would suggest to spend a little more to get one (94 and up). I used to own an R32 and personally I would buy an S13.

If you dont mind me asking, why did you decide to take it out? -
I have an R33 GTR in Melbourne that has been also getting complied since February (and still not ready). All this bullshit with emmision tests, seat tests, bla, bla, bla. Hopefully it will be ready in the 2-3 few weeks, but realistically probably sometime in 2010 when it becomes 15 years old
