MSPEC, actually I used to own a couple of gtrs with decent power, one was destroyed doing grude track day with a few friend, and The other r32gtr is getting a very serious engine atm, but I love the r33gtst with the rb26det in it, it drive beautifuly, but not over 300kays IMHO. I've always been a skyline person and I bought one of the original R32gtr that was locally delivered. But my true love atm are semi open wheelers like the ariel atom, for so little power, they run fearsomely fast time. Bikes are also my other love , the like of MVs Also XR6T none of my car have ever reached $500k When I track down a MacF1 I will break that barrier. But here are the prices for your interest C4 porsche is $230-260 depending on options 360 modena is $385K F430 is $420 with out ceramic brakes Audi RS6 $240k 355 spyder secondhand was $275K M5 $220k M3CSL $210 r32gtr $110k back in 1989, Yes I was a sucker for speed then. 350Z track $75K Obviously I donot have all of these at the very moment, but they have passed through my hands.

Umm , I don't have a job, But I have about 300 staffs in my company construction/developement, Also I'm onthe board of 2 public company. My decision probably affects 20% of the ppls in the transport company and a certain V8 supercar team. Quite a few of the ppls from Qld have seen me in my daily driver either an Audi RS6 or the rear seat of an 750iL.

MSPEC, I'm waiting for delivery of my F430 due here later this year I hope, as mine will be the 7th F430 to arrive on these shore. But if you really wanna a look at some of the other family menbers, I'm more than happy to let you have a look around, I got a few vehicle here, that might interest a true car nut, but the pet amongst my flock would be the Ariel.

LOL, Funny how you should say that, I've owned a 360 modena and has since sold it waiting for a F430, and I can tell you they do not hit 295kays period, disregarding what the speedo says. I also owned a carrera 4 for a short time and it also doesn't hit 300 kays, to hit 300 kays you need bloody long arse track or big speed bowl, even if you attempt it on public road, you might need about 10 kays of dead strainght road with no bumps, lol. Also I can tell you this as a fact the carrera 4 took over 1 kilometre to come to rest from 290 odd, So doing this sort of speed on public road is driving beyond your visibility capability. Fark my audi RS6 has twin turbo v8 from the factory just manage to haul it arse over 300 kays"unrestricted", This figure was achieved by someone else with similar car. My skyline r33 gtst has over 570rwhp runs out of gearing at 280 odd but it not going to go over 300 going by the way it wants to lift of the road, At about 270ish every cars in the world hit a brick wall of aero, and the falc. doesn't looks to aero to me, as compared to porsche-ferraris-Audis. You might have all the power in the world, The one thing you need most to be able to do 300+ is AERO. This is what the Falcon has absolutely zilch.
-
XR6T, The 360 modena, as you suggested is not speed limitted from the factory, and it doesn't hit 295kays according to gps, Also have you ever look under one of these car, super-exotic, to see the extent of their makers go, trying to keep the car on the road at 300 odd kays.
-
LOL, some ppls are so oblivious to dynamics and speeds. All I can cay, the maz 3 might not beat your XR6t but it's gonna take you a few laps trying to get around me, at QR. I'm still out on lap speed. Also your falcon does 340kph?, wtf? Let me tell you one thing, last I was in Italy and on a decent speed bowl I saw a ferrari 360 modena at 280 ripped a window rubber and the car lost stability terribibly, also these car are mighty stiff in term of body strengh and obviously aero. As far as a basic Falcon or Commodore doing 340kph, is impossible, regarless of power figure with the right gearing. When car does speeds in excess of 250+ body harmonics comes into play and the car will pretty much disintegrate, ie. bit will fall off, doors will pop open and gear won't stay in place, At the thought of anyone claiming a falc or commy doing those speed is like saying a prop. plane is capable of going to the moon. Also if this mallala thing is going ahead, I wanna be in it with a bog stock 350z (rental) to show that around a track outright horsepower is nothing.

with plugs? -
Nar, I'm not going to miss the X5 trust me, As for the exhaust note, my Audi RS6 has got the best stock exhaust note in the business, bar non!!

XR6T. I'm lost for words, in regards to your explaination of static capacity.ummm.lol. I think you better dig around and learn a few things before you go quoting unsubstantiate mathematical formulaes, Apart from that keep up the good work at misreading ppls post. Maybe you should slow down and comprehend what the original postee wrote before you reply in an obscure-unconstruct argumentive sort of reply. Truely I'm not trying to be smart, but you have to construct your arguments/replies in a factual coherent way, so that ppls can substantiate what you're claiming, failing that, your replies have no impact or credibility.

I think the murano is going to replace my current 4.4 X5, I'm staggered by the level of built quality and equipements for the money!!!

Please for the last time, please read what you've wrote. From my limitted racing experience, a car on it side going up a straight means lacks handling and dynamics, I'm not going to expains the details, but as you always claims a xr6T is an awesome car on a track. The facts are, it is not!!! As someone here asked regaring semi-slicks, a few months ago we slap on a set of DJ01 235 45 17 on a bog stock xr6t and it didn't last 5 laps due to oil surge. Terminal engine problem? suspect mains bearings. Anyway I'll be back out at QR in about 3 weeks time and I'll run up some lap time on a bog stock mazda3 for fun, my normal drive is having suspension issues, and it wouldn't even supprise me that the maz3 post better time than a xr6T on the short cirtcuit, and I'll be able to drive it home at the end of the session.

Well, this thread just got a second chance of life.Haha. 318kw is that the rear wheels, if it is then I'm not terribly impress, if it was 318kw/rear wheels, then it's another story, on that note, well we skyline ppls have been, turning over those nunbers for a good decade now, or so, it no great feat in anyone eyes, shit, my 2.61L out the front, under the trees turns over larger numbers at the treads. Btw running 6psi or 20psi makes no difference in my books. It's like rooting a decent chic and a really good looking chic, if your happy with decent, then you only have yourself to blame.

Odometer Stopped Yesterday! Good Or Bad Thing?
hungry6 replied to superspit's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
when odo dies or works erraticly, means it has been tampered with, just leave it, and buy another instrument cluster from a wreck. -
I can get my little hands on a blue or black r34gtr, but MUD post does have and air of credibility to it.

I don't believe the japanese have drop all their performance cars. All they have done is doing a short term disappearing act and re-emerging under a different badge ie toyota-lexus, honda-acura, nissan-infinity. What the japanese are actually doing is, they are confident that their car are as good, or world leading class act, and they deserve better retail price and they're not going to achieve that under the existing home brand badge. Toyota has done a superb job of this, and the rest are following. My guess are that the new GTR, integra, supras, nsx are going to pop up in a couple of years time with all new technologies under them and with it a big $$$ sticker price. As far as aussie car have caught up, this is almost laughable when you go looking under the bonnets of car from both side of the ocean.

Ohwell, Life is always full of suprises and you never know who the "other fellas" is, as for me I'm just happy only a minority group knows who I am and what is my capability, umm, let me rephrase that, my limitted capabilities. But Many forumsmenbers are actually decent pplst at first and a car nut second, only problems is. they love skyline/japanese things and speed. For me, I just lovel anything, that make a heap of noise and goes really fast. But it does help if it was engineered right first time round, and customer base engineering"complains" isn't the forward engineering thing.

If my gut feeling is right, this thread is about to die in the arse. It was fun reading it, ohwell, all good thing have to come to an end. I'm going outside to work on my Ariel

As title said I want to buy 2 enkei RP01 in 17x9 or 17x10 or even swap with two enkei 17x8 with cash difference
-
Nothing wrong with an rb20det in a r33gtst, When my motor die, that all I could find and that's what went in it. Still gets me around in the same way a rb25det would. bah!!

don't worry about max hp, durability is also another area you might want to look into, So what ever your tuner can get, wind it back 10% and treat it with respect and you'll be fine.

Tiptronic Question !!
hungry6 replied to r34_skyline's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just from my experiences tipronic = auto SMG = hydraulis actuated (proper manual with no third pedal) DSG = electronically dual clutch system manual from Audi-Porsche F1 = Ferrari is similar to above but is single plates and is very twitchy and sometime down right rude and aggresive, think of spinning wheels at lights take of on small accelerator openings. Off all the above the SMG is the most problematic, my last M3 is REALLY my last M3, as for the F1 until you try it, you really never know what you're missing out on. -
Well-well Guess what was sitting on my desk when I arrived at work today. OMG, it's a motor mag, and within it pages are the time recorded by a pretty decent and consistent steerer also, of both the FPV Typhoon and a 350Z. XR6t as you have claim straight out of the box your xr6T can beat a 350Z, as all would know a Typhoon has a 30kw advantage over the base xr6T and it also have decnt stopper and suspension tunings. These are the time set by Rick Bates around Wakefield park 350Z ani.------------------------> 1min12.15 sec 270kw Typhoon-----------------> 1min13.30sec as far as I'm concern the Typhoon better brakes and suspension set up would easily shave a second or 2 of the base xr6T, Unless you have a telepathic link with your car, I highly doubted that you can be a more consistant steerer than R. Bates. I'm not trying to be smart, but I'll show you why and where the Typhoon lost to the 350z. At turn 8 the 350Z had a carry speed of 65kph and the typhoon manage a respectable 62kph, I would have no doubt the base xr6T would have a 60 or lower turn 8 speed. Please note these are the FACTS as recorded by a third party and not just heresay. So for the record I'm repeating. The 350Z will hands the xr6T arse on a platter on any track in Australia, period!!
