Which car do you prefer?? 56k Warning!
hungry6 replied to OC's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Just saw this thread, the f430 got my vote, having driven both, the f430 and gallardo both in coupe version, one is very enjoyable and the other, just a fast car. The ferrari sound like no other ferrari before and the gallardo, well is a well made speed machine with no character, as for the CCR. I crawled all over this thing at the motor show, and to me it's no more than a glorified kit car with no racing heritage and ancestry. By the looks of the suspension set up you might wanna employ a fulltime chiro and physio. The thing just looks so crude, to be blunt. -
Ill give you the cam cover loom, but I can't give you a hand to wire anything, I'm not an auto electrician, but i did worked on a merger of an rb26 with an rb25 loom so a modified rb26 loom in a gtst with other mods. Since I broke my leg, I haven't been able to move around freely to finish of my own little project. But u can have what ever bit that remains of the 2 looms

I got one sitting downstairs with the ignitor pack. How urgently do you need it, as I don't get out much these day.

Accurate turbo maps from garrett? LOL Easier to get the next space shuttle flight path than a current garrett map.

What do you think of my 26 highmount set up?

Ok just looking around afew ppls are doing this 2wd thingy, well I'll put up some info for everyone here. If you are looking around for a 2wd sump, awhile back I negotiated with hi energy to make a custom sump for myself, but apparently they already had one underway for rb26 in 2wd format and it holds 9 litres by itself has trap doors and scrapers, also if used in conjunction with a cooler set up the volumn increases to 10+ litres depending what size line you use, Also I commission a custom manifold for a single turbo, in the end we made about 10, lol. kept 1 and dump the other nine, no I didn't sell them to other skyline owners as to me they were inferior to the one I had, and it would be wrong to do it, anyway, I hope the photo works out below, if you have question regarding rb26 into gts pm me as i'm not going to post up 1000 pics and pages and pages of info regarding how to build and blow up (blowing them up is my specialty) engine and the pitfall of street engine as to race engines. There are a few very mechanical talented ppls on this forum, who might shed more light onto this. I'm just a car nut, and a sucker for skyline. -
Just going of topic abit here didn't a few members of the nsw drug trafficking task force got done for manufacturing and supplying heroin? They were actively cutting and pushing it. Their reasoning was that they had to produce the drug so they can sell it, and then hopefully Mr big of the underworld comes out and buy it of them. To me this is absurd or moronic actions and it flow through to a percentage of the force. So every one is saying there are good cop and there are bad cop, but no one can guarantee if the good cop has been good his entire career!! Even the commissioner of police in nsw can't guarantee this. To me abusing the power that they are empowered with, is breaking the law, no ifs or but.

Besides the point a GT35 will spool up faster than any GT30 in any configuration due to the later design of the turbine-compressor wheels. Just rip of the housing and feast your eyes on the differences. -

You run almost 600hp+ atrw with a gt35R, just that you have to find the right ppls to retune-shape the exhaust housing efficientcy. Last I got was 570hp and then a valve guide crap it pants, so there is another area you might want to look into also. But the 570 was the 2nd run after the rebuild and we were still rooting around with the fuel maps. the x.housing i ran last was a 1.06?, anyway, semi slick is the only rubber you'll be running after the conversion as normal street tyre are a waste of time, as someone here already mention. Fun times are ahead and make sure u run it in properly. the temtation to give it a bootful when you hear it spool up is almost unbearable. -
I like the idea of going to bribie or somewhere away from the south coast, as a relaxing drive for everyone here would be a challenging one for me, I have no driving skilz.

If it's rainning then I'll be in the RS6 but if it's dry I'll wheel out the skyline for the 2nd time this year. Also some needs to pm us all where it's happening.

Like Sydneykid said it may crack, but to my experience, well my last so call attemp was a similar set up, the one problem that i found was the extent of heat soak in the engine bay, to the point that it melt wiring and rubber hoses started to go soft, try and contain the heat radiating from that manifold-exhaust. Also if your intending to sling that thing in a r32 gtst, it might pay to get the weight distribution check on all 4 wheels, might pop a few other questions also, happy smoking!! LOL. -
LOL dan, this is the very reason why I wont insure any of my cars. It's ok to take your money year in, year out. But for some reason you're a criminal if somethings goes wrong or you are corse to bullshit that's it was the other fellas, fault. Personally I find $1000+ insurance for a $20k car is insulting, shit u can insure a $5mil. house for the similar amount, and it'll have just as much risk as the car, and the other things is the mor ecars you have the less likely you wont be insuring then as a conglomerate amount it's cheaper to manage it yourself. Insurance company can go and G*T f*CK!!

Well, to clarify a few things up, a general traffic duty police officer DOES NOT (federal law"statutory act") have the right to open bonnet/boot or anything that is out of view, as long as you donot give them the right to do so. Generally they'll run the line " do you mind if we look in the boot/bonnet, or could you open the boot/bonnet" which sort of implying on their behalf , that you have to open up what ever it is that they are requesting. But remember failing to consent them to look in what ever they are asking for, then they would radio in to get "consent from a higher authority that has the power to enable them to normally a CS." once they have given the ok then be ready to get defect in a BIG way. To get around this is that you can enable your civil right to refuse search by automatic declare the scenario of "under arrest" by appointing or request to have a solicitor represent when this is happening(and you must be able to contact a solictor/barrister) in reasonable time to voice your objection. Then this is the time they would require to obtain a warrant from a local magistrate, then it become a paper work minefield which most junior officers will walk away from. One thing to remember if you haven't got anything to hide then it's genally easier to comply with the request and be on your way. The only thing which I could see that could be change if the acting officer have got it in for you then with the current "terrorism" law he can enable the act and obtain an permit from the federal police and creates havoc. But this is getting very extreme and I don't believe any traffic- general officers would have to balls to tread.

cause the exact shape of the muffler and the way the pipes run in and out is very different to the ones you can buy, and there is only 1 a/m sypplier for these cars and that's how much they ask for it abeilt, it very well made. The only time I'll be shelling out that much for a bit of pipe and muff, is when hell freezes over.
-
I want a custom muffler made from the same stuff, for my new ride, as I'm not paying $9000 for a bit of pipe and a muffler from an aftermarket dealer.

The golf r32 is a very nice little car, drives well. but I wouldn't go and line up wrxs or 200sx or similar japanese cars on the road. Once moving it drives brilliant, just pray to god it stay together if you're gonna drive it hard. One thing to remember japanese cars will handle a fair bit more of abuse than their euroupean counterpart.

I'm selling my RS6 soon, so make me an offer DAN

Ok after reading about Dan666 car got stolen, it personally touched me as this car delivered some wholesome tuolene to me. A few menbers from know of my skyline, it's only a shitter, but I do take good care of it when I get the time, and security wise, to me it's alot more secure than an immobiliser or an alarm, or can be used as an added measure ontop of the alarm. What I've used is a 25mm coated titanium cable lock weaving it through the mag of the front wheels and a locking wheel nut is put onto the allocated wheel of the car. If the tyre cannot be removed, the car cannot be driven if broken into. As the 25mm cable will foul the calipers and jammed, also I make sure there is no other tyre that'll fit the car sitting around my place, unless the thieves carry a spare and sit around trying to take the wheel of as the cable cannot be cut, and a tow truck cannot be used as I make an effort of backing it up against a tree. The areas I live in is full of low life scums and there are mornings that I wake up seeing alot of disturbances around the car, but one important thing she's still there for the time being. As for out and about the cable lock can be applied in 10 secs, not much of a sacrifice for peace of mind. btw I have to admit I got one door kick in after a fail theft attemp.

I'm not up to date with skyline bits, but did this come out of a gts or gtr and does it needs recalibration? or simply plugs in? I'm in bris.

I know where they live, over this week end I'll snoop around to see if they're still living there. I hate DODGY FARKERS.

I'm not sure if anyone can speculate the situation at the time, but it's hard to draw a sensible solution to the argument. I've said this for reasons I know what's it's like to be tossed onto the wrong side of the law and then you're comtemplating the outcome of a $20k ride or anything upto $100k for some of the other cars on this forum. One thing I can say is that, if you already have a first or second confiscation ruling against you, every cop that drive past(digital rego recognition is here!!) would give you a second look and wouldn't even supprise me if they do you over for the sake of getting a trip out of it. Also at what level does it incriminate a hi speed chase, certain abit of street racing isn't enough in my book, maybe an violent criminal escapee or arm robbery maybe, but getting chased for misdemeanor traffic offense, wake up and smell the roses boys and girls, the propaganda machine has be working overtime and seem to have work. I just want to project a view from another angle, what happens if you have been wrongfully done in the first couple of instances ie. chirping a wheel and getting it confiscate(don't say it hasn't happen yet, cause it has), and going around a corner abit faster than yopu can handle and sliding the car out, and then you're face with the real possibility of lossing ALOT of money over a couple of silly mistakes., and remebering a 20 odd y.o with an import is a cop magnet.
