It seem some shops out there are still learning the ins and out of a 20 Y.O. engine. and they also have seem to charge a premium because it's a GTAHHHH !!!! FFS it's a motor, made of steel and alloy, it's not exactly rocket science...

What Does An Rb26 Head Need For 10000rpm?
hungry6 replied to bradsm87's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
He'll need a good well balanced bottom end that wont go CR*P at 9900rpm. As for the heads, I think it needs more than "just" valve guide unless you are pulling the motor down every week end -
7 LITRES??????? Jesus!!! dont they realise the ocean is filled with salt water and not premium grade petroleum. I'm a petrol head, but i still cant come to term with a car that has similar capacity with ocean liners.. power is good more power is great but adding cubes to get more power and bypassing R&D in a motor is the SUCK!!!

Nice car that has plenty of design cues from other manufacturer. the rear apron with diffuser looks awefully similar to those on a ferrari F series. wheels archs from audi, I better stop before I get ragged. but it is well proportion.

Ant's R33 Gts-r Rb26det Conversion
hungry6 replied to johnbarry88's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
U might want to rethink on that cam spec. for that sort of power. Just my opinion only. and those cam cover are going to sizzle a few fingers. -
We do abit of OS business and I can tell you one thing that the yank have in abundance is $$$$$ and I would bet my balls the record setting numbers in future from the current GTR will come out of the US and not Japan or anywhere else for that matter. They might apply USA perspective on it, but at the end of the day, numbers dont lie.

0.2sec for a DSG box???? That's mighty slow. U sure it's not 0.02 sec? cause at 0.2 sec. I think the ZF auto in some car shift faster. Nothing worst than banging the paddles and waiting for the gear to arrive as you exit the crn and your mind is already on the next gear. just a though

and yes they did plenty of homeworks on suspension and drive train, problem is they ran out of $$$ when it came to appearance.

3 years, that'll teach him. The bad part is that after 3 years he'll come as a better crim. and the vicious cycle goes on. The punishement should be that the 3 years, instead of sitting in jail, they should be personal slave to the ppls he stole from. and any breach of the sentence should be dealt with corporal punishment from who ever wants to hand it out.

How Would This Do As A Weekend Driver?
hungry6 replied to m3gtr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You'll find a private import luxury like merc, bmw or porsche are given a wide berth by alot of local car yard and there arent alot of support around to sell, insure orfinance them.. -
Thanks for the confirmation of serial numbers on the Q45 AFM, They've been sitting here for ages, and I have maxed out Z32, so these will go in knowingly they will produce the goods. I'm abit happier today than yesterday now.

Help Me Defend The Skyline Pride
hungry6 replied to R33_Rob's topic in General Automotive Discussion
These 2 cars exist for two totally different purpose 1 is a track orientated racer 1 is a road orientated cruiser. Both has goods and bads They both cost BIG $$$$$$ to go fast.. anyone who say power is cheaper from a supra havent really tried hard enough to get "REAL" power and last of all power delivery from these 2 cars are also world apart. 1 has an explosive feel to it nature and the other has a "GIANT" rubber band effect. But they have one things in comon, they will hand every HSV owner their arse on a platter in mild tune state. -
I wasn going to say anything, but I've built a few cars in my time. If you took every nut bolts including the ones that is on the rods, head, crown pinion, harmonic balancer, clutch, flywheel and even wheel studs, you be lucky to get anywhere near 100kgs, and then you have to ask yourself the question would zip ties hold these "apparently" non essential bits together, as you just removed the primary method of attaching or fastening these items.

I love it when i read ppls builds, ahhhh the money pits.... I'm glad I built my last car. I hope....
-
No one pushed them, it was on their own free will to be what they were and now we're better for it..

I'm hoping to see the new RS6, and plenty of skimpy clad promo girls. Isnt that what the motor show was all about????
-
Where the do these ppls get their weight reduction estimations from???? 1250kgs??? do they leave the motor gearbox at home or do the leave the whole body shell behind? ppls are thowing around 1500kgs for a Vspec. well I dont want to rain on everyone, but reducing weight after final production process is extremely hard and big $$$$. and the amount of weight that can be reduce is minimal. A close estimate for a Vspec weight would be about 50kgs lighter. It's the most I would expect to see. If a car was going to be light, it has to be approach from the onset, which I would imagine nissan had in mind until costing estimation comes back..

Doesnt matter how fast car get from A to B the feeling of driver satisfaction (grin factor) and enjoyment are what where it is at for a road going sport car.. Some people call it transient dynamics. People who own MX5 and other variants of euro sports will know what myself and others talking about. The lacks of weight will deliver what I'm trying to explain.. I dont for one second donot dispute that it is a fast car, but in real life and livingwith one, it has to be able to deliver more than just that.. For the record I dont believe the Vspec or what ever spec nissan decides to deliver will shave anywhere near 200kgs of this car and chances are it's gonna be closely costed to the euro exotic...
-
Also I forgot to add was that due to the weight of th RS6 as with the new GTR it will have a healthy diet of high load rating tyre, which is big $$$$. in the RS6 they were around $900 a pop and you almost need new ones at every 10k service, I dont think the GTR will be that much different. Weight... damn weight. but I will drive one sooner rather then later, most probably later this year when I'm in S.E Asia.

I'm sure nissan or someone can "exhaust tune" the v6 to sound good. My problem with thr 35 is "WEIGHT!!!!!!" I run out and buy one tomorow if it weight in around 1400-1500kgs but not at the luxo sedan numbers. Honestly i was waiting in the wing to buy one when it got released, only to find out the weight was heavier than a school bus.. I owned an Audi RS6 for 3 years and it weights in at 1800 odd kgs with 350 odd kw and I can tell you the car was fun to drive and fast from A to B but doesnt matter how much I was in denial of the weight issues until you have to make sudden direction changes. The law of physics comes in and reminds you that you have some beef under the seat... I'm still hoping some how nissan will deliver a "stripper" version even with same power levels, I'll still be happy, but not ATM all the years waiting for nothing. The sound issue would be overcome pretty easy in my mind, be just as sexy, just different, like a hot brunnette or blonde.

I'm going to shot by a few ppls for saying this, The 35GTR brakes are going to catch fire under normal race conditions from what was in that video.
