  1. I don't recall but be careful capping ports off as it can shut off oil supply to the engine.
  2. Thats the idler not the tensioner. Its a RIPS block so Im sure he would have all that right. (this build isn't assembled by him but the block is the same one he built for me on the prior build)
  3. As expected, bent valves on race prepped head number 2..
  4. Shazam another one bites the dust. 2.7 miles that one lasted. Well I'm assuming the valves are going to be bent. i got everything back to TDC with the belt off, the idler snapped. WTF man i bought a cam belt tension gauge and had everything set to 196nm. WTF The man's trying to keep me down man i swear.
  5. This is the cometic exhaust gasket, what a pos. This is the tomei exhaust gasket Cometic Tomei Also on the crappy cometic gasket the rivets on the gaskets would need to be removed. So thankfully I have a mill so port match the big boy head ports. And for the grande finale
  6. Well, looks like its gonna need a new block or some sleeves. The ring galgue from the 1st tear down is not going to clean up with a hone. Looking into 2jz
  7. Would this be correct? Would it still draw oil if the thermostat was closed?

  9. Would this be correct plumbing? Need a check valve for the oil cooler back to engine?

Yea, hot tanked then everything removed and flushed with 3 gallons of mineral spirits through a pressure pump with each main bearing being plugged. 1000000000% sure it was cleaner than any factory job. I swear its like the more I take time to do shit right the worse shit f**ks up. All I can do at this point is laugh. maybe i just just roll the block around in some dirt and put the bearings it upside down (mains) and it will probably run just fine.
  14. Yes the block was throughly cleaned and hot tanked. Never did figure out what the rod was.

  17. We are thinking some sort of oil starvation. Maybe it doesnt like tomei pressures, who knows.
  18. thought about spool and bc kits, but I dont know i think i read something way about bc getting their shit from china. spool, doesnt seem like many use them. Certain engine builders said hell no to spool, I willnt add names... although the price is tempting. Then again price isnt always indicative of quality as i have learned.
  19. Might be selling this misery and getting a 996 turbo, gonna go look at it monday. I could have 1200hp porsche by now.
  20. They all look like this. Guess I might as well rebuild it all again while the head is getting fixed or scrapped.
