  1. Do you know of the price and what he checks on the car?
  2. The car used to be registered in ACT. I would want an ACT engineerer I would expect?
  3. Yes the very same. Bucket??
  4. Hi guys, I have a car I got engineered many years ago in NSW. At the time it was OK to use a NSW engineers certificate and the car was registered. Now the car has been unregistered for many years and I have come to find out that ACT no longer accepts NSW engineers certificates. The certificate was for an engine conversion. My question is, if my cars rego papers show the new engine number, do I need to still supply the report going over the pits? If I do need to get an ACT engineers certificate, I have been told to use that Wilkinson John person (may have the name wrong). What does he do exactly, and how much does he charge? Thanks
  5. Hi guys, This is another car of mine, it is a 2009 B8 Audi 1.8 Turbo. No modifications on it and do not plan on any modifications. Not much to say about this really besides it's extremely comfortable and extremely boring to drive. This car represents my regret for not getting a W204 Mercedes (current C class).
  6. Thanks Kasko but I wouldn't allow someone to drink coca-cola in that car
  7. Yes same Spetz, still have that Lancer stored at a friends house... hasn't moved in about 4 years but I do plan on getting it running again. With the car purchase it is not immediate, rather in 2-3 years. R34 GT-R is nice, but by that time it is over a decade old and grossly overshadowed by the R35.
  8. Yes the front subframe will need to be changed to the E500 Sedan subframe. The E320 or E36 (in line 6 motors) use the same subframe as the one I have but somehow doing an engine conversion to something that was available from factory seems wrong. The V8 was not offered in coupe form hence I am fine with it (it is like a mental hurdle). Of course first things are the rims and the suspension, bodykit and a few other things, the V8, if it happens, will probably be in close a decade or so. Can you tell me, how do you think a car like this would be perceived in Canberra, and even Australia as a whole? ie, nice for it's condition, age and rarity, or like an old car that has long lost it's glory?
  9. Yes, I never plan on selling this car. I am somewhat hesitant on the V8 conversion as well for the fact that it will no longer be original + I drive it maybe 1,000km a year as I don't want to get the kilometers high
  10. Yes they came as a coupe but are extremely rare. This one was special ordered by my dad and took half a year to build at Stuttgart
  11. Hi guys, This is my long term project car. It is a 1994 220CE bought brand new by my dad. It is in pristine condition, interior is as new and it has never been in an accident. Future plans: 17" AMG Monoblock rims Eibach springs + Bilstein shocks E36 AMG Bodykit And, this is a long term goal/dream, to replace the engine for a V8 from the E500 Mercedes. The Coupe was never offered in V8 form which is appealing to me. Sorry about picture quality, taken from my phone. And these are the rims and bodykit I want to install:
  12. The only negative of the Verada is the fuel economy however I think it makes up for it in comfort and it's ability to tow up to 1,500kg. No V8s thanks Zebra, this is a daily beater I am looking for
  13. Zebra, I'm not sure I can see myself driving a Ford or a Holden. With the Soarer, I am specifically looking for sedan cars. An IS200 is on the list of cars but they seem to be out of my price range.
  14. Hi guys, I am looking into what daily car to buy. What I want in it: Reliability Comfort Cheap parts/maintenance Presentable Practicality My budget is to be around the 7K mark and I am looking to purchase around September 2012. At the moment I am really liking a 2002 Mitsubishi Verada. What are peoples opinions and suggestions?
  15. Thanks for the warm welcome guys I will not be buying a Skyline any time in the near future, but I am hoping that in 2-3 years I may be in a position to buy myself a toy, however I have my eyes on an Evo X as the R35 is too expensive and the R34 GT-R is getting a bit old, but I am not excluding it for sure.
  16. Hi everyone, Firstly I would like to say that I do not own a Skyline. I joined because there do not seem to be any active Canberra car related forums and this seems to be the one with the largest active member base. I used to live in Canberra some 4-5 years ago and I plan to return within 1 year and was hoping to over time gather some information in regards to cars in Canberra. I am a car enthusiast however in the recent years I have been "out of the scene" and with my planned return to Canberra I would like to once again be more involved. Thanks for reading
