Hi,
I was just wondering, I have seen a number of topics that have been started about people starting the processing of converting their 350GT-8 from the CVT to either a 6MT or 5AT.
None of these topics have noted whether or not the conversion was successful.
Can anyone tell me, has this ever successfully been done? It is an option that we are considering, changing our CVT to a 5AT. If we do this will we need to change the drive shaft, ecu etc? Will the triptronic still work or will we need to change the gear lever also? Our car also has the paddle shift on the steering wheel. Will these be rendered useless with the change?
We have attempted to do our own research, we have found alot of information that people have posted in relation to talking about it what they thought they would need to do, but have not been able to find anything that confirms what will be required or if the change was even successful.
I would rather find out now before we start the process of spending big $$$ on the car. Would much rather just scrap it out for parts if we cant either fix our problem or successfully change the transmission without needing to rob a bank.
Cheers
