  1. In my defence the hubby bought the car, and yes you have owned for longer, we bought ours in November 2011
  2. We are not getting on to the topic of boobies, you will surely lose!!!! Please dont tell me you have a silver one with a premium pack, otherwise I will call stalker
  3. Except I think I might be the prettier version Being female and all
  4. The rims were like a dark powdercoat and the front was the same. I was in my silver V35 four door, car is completely original including the rims but has a double barrel exhaust. SA number plate ending in ACD. It was in morning peak hour traffic so I will forgive this time if it was you but next time I want a
  5. Hey, i also have a v35 350 gt-8 and can highly recommend southern hi-tech dyno tune in melrose park off south road. They were excellent with the work that I needed done to the car. They didn't bulk at the fact that it had a cvt and their rates are incredibly reasonable. Their details are listed in the SA section. If you have a look in the SA section there is a list for contacts for almost all of the things that you are after.
  6. I may have mistakenly thought that the rims were black, they were definitely dark rims. Very nice ride
  7. Driving into the city I see V's a fair amount but it is the first V I have seen in my area of Plympton. It had a black grill with an infinity badge, black rims and aftermarket headlights. The only badge on the back was Skyline, looked like it had been modified a bit to look like a sleeper. If it was you, please to me next time, feeling a little lonely in my V. (don't look at how dirty it is at the moment though!)
  8. I have seen so many V's and R's around in the last week or so in Adelaide, whilst driving my 4 door V and I never get a wave back Feeling a little invisable. Someone please spot me!!!!!!!! (I even had a very nice Black 2 door V35 drive past me yesterday whilst I was turning into On The Run at Plympton and they still didn't acknowledge my )
  9. Hey Guys, I have been on this forum a couple of times seeking advice for an issue we were having with our V35. We are happy to confirm that the car is FINALLY fixed and purring like a kitten We took the car to MV Automatics to get the transmission serviced and then had some other work done at Southern Hi Tech Dyno Tune. Both places were great and treated us and our car with respect. (Southern Hi Tech even cleaned the car!). So I will happily recommend both of these places to anybody. Some of my family have already taken their cars to Southern Hi Tech. So now that the car is sorted will definitely be looking at joining the club with you guys and hopefully seeing you all out at some club events! - Also for those of you who own a V and had the windows tinted. Is it true that a specialised tint is required for the back window? We don't want to a) get ripped off and b) stuff up our aerial signal.
  10. Thanks for the above guys. I have found a Fascia kit from the US which I have been recommended are one of the better quality ones. I have been trying to source a SWI-PAC module that will suit the V35 and haven't been able to find much information on them. Does anyone know the best place to find information on them or even source them from? Lastly, is there any issues connecting an aftermarket headunit to work with the Bose Sub and speaker system? We are wanting to keep the car as original as possible, so at this stage only changing the head unit as just having a radio at the moment is driving me insane!
  11. I was reading this post and it sounds exactly like the issue we are having with our car. It is nice to know that someone else had this issue and has been able to fix the problem. We have done the CVT service because it was needed anyway. I must thank you for your information and hopefully it will be asw simple a fix for our car
  12. He owned one when we first met, unfortunately he had to sell it. He has always wanted another one. I am trying to talk him into something which is a little more common.
  13. Here is one of our new V - pretty standard at the moment, but wont stay that way for long if hubby has anything to do with it. Looking for an R31 for a toy btw
  14. Thanks for that will definitely check it out. We are sick of being labelled or put into a certain category owning a Skyline and would love to meet some people who appreciate them and don't just thrash them.
  15. Hey Guys, I know that a thread has been put up about mechanics which are recommended in Adelaide. But I am just wondering if there are any V35 owners out there who have found a good mechanic which has had some experience with a V35. The previous owner used to take the car to Nissan, but I have found them to be plain rude and not really willing to listen to us in how the car is running. I would like to thank whoever it was on here that recommended MV Automatics in Blackwood, they were fantastic and got my car back to me the same day. I can't recommend their services enough. Apart from their courtesy car which was a little terrifying I am looking for someone who can do a general tune up and service on the car with a general check over to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Also, we are new Skyline owners so would love to meet some other like minded Skyline lovers. Any suggestions / clubs etc?
  16. Two V35 four doors almost every day in the south terrace end of the city. My car's twins. I am probably the silver 4 door V35 that is always spotted. Hi All!
  17. Every morning I drive past two of my cars twins. The first being 4 door V35 with Infinity badges and a darker grey four door V35 with reversing camera. Both in the South Terrace end of the city.
  18. No probs, hopefully it will help somebody else in my position in the future
  19. That is my thought exactly. They really do not seem to be interested in listening to the customer when they know their own vehicle better than they obviously do. Most just seem to think that they can just wing it without doing any research. Thankfully, I did alot of research before going to any transmission specialist.
  20. Hey Guys, As you know from my previous post, I am having issues with the CVT in a newly purchased V35. We have finally after many months of searching found what we need to service our CVT and I thought that I would share with all of you guys on here, because nobody in Australia knows anything about them. I know from experience that the search is quite frustrating especially when people tell you what you know is incorrect and will just cost you more money. From other forums I know that this website has been mentioned www.cvt.co.nz. I have recently been in correspondence with them and they have been incredibly helpful. Alot of places in Australia will tell you to use Nissan NS-2 fluid in the CVT of the V35, but the CVT in the V35 is the Extroid and if you use this fluid, you may as well just kiss $10k good bye because you will be up for a new transmission. The correct fluid is the Nissan KTF fluid. Nissan part number KLE51-00004. I have been quoted by CVT NZ $1,222.31 AUD to have the required amount of fluid (8 litres), o-ring and gasket, and the instructions on how to complete the transmission service delivered to myself in Adelaide. On the purchase price of the items you do need to pay 5% duty and 10% gst to Australian Customs when importing into Australia. This brings the total to $1,493.04 to have the fluids, parts and instructions delivered. You can get the fluid from Nissan in Australia but the price for the fluid alone is over $1,300.00 and they are unable to supply the parts or have any idea on what is required for the service. I have also been lucky enough to find a transmission specialist in Adelaide who is willing to complete the service with the instructions supplied. I hope that this information helps any of you guys out there that may be in the same frustrating situation as myself.
  21. Hey Guys, I have posted on the V Series forum previously but am new to the classics. When I first met my husband he had a very nice R31 1988 (I think) I do know that it had a RB30 engine in it and a very large and loud exhaust hanging out of the back. From what I know it wasn't anything special in the way of a GTR or anything along those lines. We had to sell the car about 4 years ago for financial reasons. At the time we were living in Northern Canberra. The car was white with the bottom half on the car under the trim a dark grey and the car also had the original Nissan Mags, which I have not seen on another car since. I have recently purchased a V35 Skyline, which on the other forum you will notice I am having a minor issue with However, I was looking to surprise my husband for our anniversary or perhaps his birthday with this car or even a car similar if possible. If anyone could tell me if there is one available or even if they know where this particular car is, I dont mind what condition the car is in, if we can verify that it was my husbands old car, as his dream when I met him was to fix it up as a hobby car. I have attached a car which looks similar to the car that I am looking for, but I am unable to find a picture of the rims which were on the car at the time. Note, this is not the car my husband owned, but which is similar. Any assistance is greatly appreciated
  22. sorry typo V35
  23. Thanks everybody for the advise. Before replacing the gearbox we want to try and fix this issue. Its otherwise a great car as all who own a V53 know. We also found a workshop manual from the states for the car too, downloaded for a cost. It has said that the symptoms and the computer diagnosis point to one of the following: - dirty connection of the wiring to the sensor - loose wiring connecting to the sensor - the sensor itself - or last but not least (and the most expensive) gearbox service If anybody requires a copy of the workshop manual let me know, I can copy onto a disk and send through. (only cost will be disk/casing and postage)
  24. Hey Guys, Just wondering a few things about changing the stereo in my V35 from the Bose to a different set up. First of all, can you set a new stereo up to be controlled by the steering wheel controls? Also, can you get the fascia for the V35 for any less than $499, this is the price that I have been quoted here in SA.
  25. I wish I had found this forum before we bought the car! We bought privately, so not the same one that you were looking at. I will get the chassis number and details of the car to you Chris so that we can see what can be done. If I can get the car running right, I will be one very happy chappy. I just hope that this is all that goes wrong with it. We are now thinking that the guy new that this was the issue with it when we bought it. Duped big time!
