Hi Guys, SAU NSW have been working with RTDC on running an interclub track day on the SMSP North Circuit, this has not been something SAU NSW has been able to offer in the recent past, however we now have access to a very limited number of spots for this day. The day will be run with other car clubs so we will have a variety of cars running the same event. Further details will be provided soon. DATE: Sunday 18th October 2015 WHERE: Sydney Motor Sport Park - North Circuit http://www.sydneymotorsportpark.com.au/about/circuits/#prettyPhoto/2/ SCHEDULE: TBA - This information will provided once the event date is closer. PRICE: SAU-NSW financial members - $250 per driver. SAU-NSW non-members - $275 per driver Please note that we are strictly limited to 20 entrants, once these sell out there will be no more spots up for grabs. If you are an SAU-NSW financial member and you entered the SAU-NSW South Circuit, please check members section first. More info on membership can be found at http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/457457-s-a-u-n-s-w-club-membership/ LICENCE REQUIREMENTS: CAMS L2S Motorsport licence and current club membership card must be shown on the day at the sign in desk. PLEASE NOTE ALL CAMS LICENCES MUST BE ACQUIRED PRIOR TO THE EVENT, APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE MADE ON THE DAY ANYMORE!! CHECK YOUR EXPIRY DATES PEOPLE! How the day runs: Firstly, when you arrive at the track, find a place to park and empty all loose objects out of the car. Ensure there's nothing loose in the engine bay and that there are no leaks, that your brake lights work and you have all your wheel nuts on and have tightened your sump plug etc. Next step is to go to the office and sign on for the day, take your licence with you and you will be given a scrutineering sheet. Once you receive that, it's time to drive your car to the scrutineering area which will be pointed out on the day. Your car will be checked to make sure it's safe to go on the track, and it will then be assigned a number which is your number for the day. Once you've done all that, it's now time to wait for the drivers' briefing to begin. Once the drivers' briefing is over, all the drivers are split into groups based on experience so that everyone is comfortable in their group. One group is then allowed on the track at a time for evenly-timed sessions. Once one group comes off, another goes on. This repeats until the end of the day with a short break around lunch so officials and helpers can get some food and drinks. Groups are numbered to ensure we have lots of space on the track. Groupings will be based on previous lap times and experience That's basically it! The only way to secure a spot is through sending in an entry form and make payment via Direct Deposit. PAYMENT: Please note there will be no refunds unless the event is sold out and there are reserves waiting. Payment by Direct Deposit only for this event. Payment is required ASAP to secure your spot, if you have not paid the spot will go to the next entrant that pays. Unlike our usual events the spots are very limited and it will be first in with payment. The main rule is, we are not allowed to drift the courses. But with such powerful cars, you can't help but over rotate the tyres at times. -

AASA is cheaper, but I have found that CAMS seem to be accepted at more tracks. If you do go cams get a Speed LS2 and then you can enter our track day as well. -

Event: SAU NSW Championship Round 3 Texikhana Location: Nirimba Airfield / TAFE / Skidpan - same place as last time (yeah, it's got a few names) Location map: https://goo.gl/maps/h8GrX Date: Sunday 25th October 2015 What is it: Motorkhana courses marked with orange things that we'd kindly appreciate if you drove around rather than over. Entry cost SAUNSW members: $50 Entry fee Entry cost Non SAUNSW members: $65 Entry fee (If you plan to enter more than 1 or more events with us it pays to be a funded member) Spectators:Free to watch Passengers:$10 which is cheap compared to other clubs and events, (SUPPORTS OUR CLUB!!!) , MUST sign on, MUST wear wrist to neck/ankle clothing with enclosed shoes and approved helmet, same as drivers. Courses:Released on the day at sign on First timers: Don't be shy, you'll love it. Those of you that have been to one of these before will agree, this is the best money you can spend as far as driving time for an event. The event will be run after run until 3.30pm, and considering most runs are under 1 minute AND that we're kicking off at 9am, that's a lot of runs This is a safe event where you only go as hard as you want to, there's no pressure, one car on a course at a time. Perfect for beginners to have a first try at driving their pride and joy off the streets. Motorkhana is a low cost way to get involved in motorsport. You can get your first taste of motor sport in your standard road car, but this discipline also caters to the most skilled and experienced of drivers in highly modified or purpose built Motorkhana specials. The competition is designed to test the acceleration, braking and manoeuvrability of a vehicle and the skill and judgement of the crew members. A motorkhana may be conducted on a sealed or unsealed surface and involves manoeuvring through tight and twisty tests marked by flags. Cars will be started individually and there will be one car on course at one time. With that said, there's usually some friendly competition between mates, which is great to watch This Event will be the 3rd and final Round of a 3 Round Championship. Round 1 Sunday March 22nd 2015 Texikhana Round 2 Monday 24th August 2015 Trackday Round 3 Sunday 25th October 2015 Texikhana Championship presentation will be at the Club Open General Meeting in November 2015 Points for the Championship will be awarded to SAUNSW Financial Members only. Points are awarded for Top 20 fastest times 20 points for 1st descending to 1 point for 20th. Points will be added up after Round 3 and Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd highest totals will be awarded at presentation. Timing for the day: Scrutineering/sign on starts - 7.00am Scrutineering/sign on ends - 8.30am (don't show up at 8.25am, come with plenty of time to spare) Drivers brief - 8.40am (mandatory attendance all drivers) Runs start - 9.00am Lunch approx - 12.30pm depending on how the day is going (One hour) Runs stop - 3.30pm (Approx) Gates close - 5.00pm Entrants please note: -You do not need to own a Skyline, all makes and models are welcome to enter. -All entrants under 18 years old must have parental permission. -All entered cars must arrive in time for and pass scrutineering, no exceptions. -All drivers must be licensed (AASA or CAMS) and show valid licence and expiry date at sign on. -All cars must have an insurance approved fire extinguisher secured within drivers reach. -Sidepipes are not allowed.
