it will definatly see more street than track as i use the car daily, it sees alway highway use anyway so it will just be cruising more often than not, im not after a huge outlay incase i do want to change to a larger one, i havent used this engine yet i brought it off a guy who had it but it blew the seals in the turbo, im definately feeling the t67 as there is 8 cm 10cm and 12cm rear housing for it

its time to choose a turbo for my built 30DET, it used to have a 3582 r china turbo and previously made an easy 330rwkw, im looking for a similar power level, id like a decent responsive set up as the car mainly sees street use, its going to be on e85 so bare that in mind, ive seen lots about the kando turbos so im looking into that, any opinions would be appreciated cheers guys

well the cosworth seems similar spec to the tomei, still multi layer and cheaper, the only reason i was looking at it cuz its about the thinest i can find which is what im after cuz my forgies are at 8.1 so i wouldnt mind squeezing just a touch more, plus the heads gunna get a skim and its on e85 so the comp will work, i hear lots of ppl saying there not fans of the head drains why is that?? how do i go about purchasing two 1mm restrictors off ya mate?? -

im only worried about the oil control because it has an n1 pump which increases presure and flow, even with the restrictors it will have plenty of oil to the lifters i just dont want it pumping it all into the head at sustained high revs, plus this is all precaution i havent ran this setup yet hence why i wanna get it right the first time!! at this stage im more worried about what head gasket to use -

anyone have decent opinions on head gasket to use?? i just got arp head studs aswell and it says to torque to 80ftlbs is this correct?? -

hmm that says block one and run a 1mm, i think i might just go both 1mm ones cuz i have a head drain -
what oil pump are you using mate??

yeh in the 30 block, i thinnk the 2mm would be the middle and the other the rear, yeh vct in head is blocked off

hey guys just stripped my forged 30det to inspect before it goes in, i just ordered arp head studs and was wondering what a good head gasket would be?? i found a 1.1mm cosworth one pretty cheap, would this work or should i use a genuine 30 or 26 one?? it also has an N1 oil pump in it with 2mm middle restrictor, 1.8mm rear and the vct feed is 1.65mm, would i need smaller?? it has an external head drain fitted aswell, cheers guys

hey mate i just pulled the head off my engine and i measured the restrictors, its got 2mm in the front, 1.8 in the rear and the vct feed is 1.65 would this send to much oil to the head?? it has a rear head drain also

yeh i thought that mate, it looks pretty nasty, and its a 3582 not what i said before lol, yeh im looking at something like a 35r or a kando t67 maybe, im not aiming for that high of a power level just yet

hey guys so things have definately taken a new direction, a forged rb30det popped up for a good price so i snapped it up, has a 3082 turbo (blown seals ) front facing greddy style plenum, 750cc injectors, wiseco forgies at 8.1:1 ..the engine made 330 rwkw on e85, now what i would like to know is what would a good replacement turbo be?? its a slide industries one so id prefer a better brand, also what sort of supporting fuel system will i need?? cheers guys

OH REALLY?? I HAVE ALL S1 LOOMS BUT THE MAIN LOOM HAS SOME WIRES PATCHED IN AND ITS DODGEY AS SO ILL PROB GET ANOTHER ONE ANYWAY, shit sorry about the caps lol, ahh good I was hoping it wouldn't be too much stuffing around, gunna leave this bottem end alone and bolt all my stuff on it and see how it goes

I was thinking that I don't like the external ignitor on s1, have u ever wired one into a r31 mate?

oh ok mate, ill run It I reckon, what series 25 wiring did u use?? im not sure what I should set mine up as, I have series one coil packs and loom but I dunno which is better to wire into a 31??

that is a pretty decent little setup that would have been awesome fun, im looking at goin a little bit bigger with the turbo but ill see what happens, only 8 psi too that's wikked, did it still have vct??

well im not sure about the rings in the bottem end i have, i dont wanna get it running and it not perform, i will see what happens as i have 2 bottom ends, one i have bare, plus the one that is currently running in my car that doesnt use oil at all and runs mint, the only thing is it has noisy lifters, but i kinda need the car so i dont know what i should do

build is starting to progress nicely, got a few good parts in, ive decided on running rb26 pistons and decking the block to suit, should be good fun

hmmm spool imports have a special on there forged rods and forged ross pistons for $1350 very tempting indeed
