hi peoples, does anyone have a step by step guide to how to pull apart a skyline tail light to the point where i can get the diffuser/reflector/lenses etc out of the lights? as i can gather at a quick glance, id just take all the screws off and then stick in the opver to heat up the glue and try to pull it apart? is it possible? has anyone done it or seen it done before? thanks for the help

agreed 100% i didnt say hey kids heres sumthing cool to do.. it wasnt a smart thing to do, it could have beena lot worse. but every day one of you in your tail happy mostly illegally modified skylines hops in and boots it off at a set of lights, exceeded the speed limit, drifted a corner, power oversteered, did a demo or anything mildy silly (id reckon im safe to say thats the majority of people here), your doing somehting that potentially could have killed someone. im only too familiar (i mean hell look how close the tre was to my seat) with irresponsible behaviour almost leading to certain disaster, so you dont need to pick me up on that.. that said, i agree that the manner in which i posted probably wasnt particularly smart, but i wasnt thinking all that well, and lets just say, this time round i was lucky, and its been a hell of a lesson..

I never said i was a genius Im an idiot for gettin in the car in te first place, i admit. in retrospect i prolly shouldnt have posted it in such a light hearted way.. but i was thanking **** i wasnt dead, and was just in one of those moods, that and the dfact the doctor gave me sumthing that made me rather trashed. But, i can ASSURE YOU that i am not dead, i WAS in the passenger seat, and im rather sore.. as for the speed estimates, i honestly have no idea.. i know it was in 3rd gear on the power, and i was hanging onto the door/seat cos it was scaring the crap out of me.. i wasnt looking at the speedo.. when i saw the slide, i looked at the tree and said to myself '**** im the one thats gonna feel this, not the him'. as for the rest of it, i didnt bring any shitfight here, certain people form tjhis club did, they love to have a dig, and well, the opportunity was there.. im not perfect, i do my fair share of dumb shit, if i had of praned it myself, i sure as hell wouldnt be laughing about it as id have cost myself $30k. the REASON it was posted and the reason i put the pics up was "holy crap look at that cage and how it stopped me from being killed" and for the retards saying 'that cage is a horrible design' i DONT CARE what your theory is, it saved me, a cage that saved my fkn life in my book, i couldnt give a shit was keyboard mechanics say, it worked in THIS situation, and the dudes that installed it, certainly knew what they were doing. its no backyard job.. its made of VERY thick steel, and weighs an absulute tonne. Lets just leave it at that. i dont expect the people that have issues with me to stick up for me, i dont even expect them to be fair to me. But i dont like shit being slung at me and people jumping to unreasonable conclusions. Ive never been in an accident where i was driving, in 5 years of being behind the wheel of performance vehicles. im an advocate of safety equipment, race days and advanced driver courses. i admit i was a bit ofa dumbarse in the way i posted, but hey i ****ed up with that.. laters.

Amber - that quote u posted from mccr was totally UNTRUE. i never said at ANY stage that i was driving.. sheesh.. i left it ambiguous yeah but no no no no no no i wasnt driving and yes yes yes im an idiot for gettin in the passenger seat.. leave it at that, and do me a favour, tell the other forums i wasnt driving either im sick of defending myself.. it really annoys me when people jump to conclusions. and no im not just trying to cover it up. if i was stupid enuf to crash it, id have not said a damn word!

jesus guys, ease up i wasnt even driving.. i admittedly was a bit ambiguous in the first posts, and at the time i was mashed up on pain killers from being hit by the tree (i was on passenger side), i found a rather amusing side to it, but posted it to show the importance of having a cage. i realise im lucky to be alive, the cage saved my life, but its done now, and rather than sooking and crying like a girl i was quite pumped at the fact that i was still alive.. so, before jumping to conclusions guys, realise i wasnt driving and i was the one that took thr brunt of the hoit.. and yes, its painful and yes im still sore.. lucky for these painkillers im still walking.. actually floating around hehe.
