  1. Thanks, Bleeding isn't a issue, but for the life of me I can't find the slave cylinder. I've done a bit of searching and it may just be I am not looking for right thing. Any advice on where it is would be appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Thanks for the info Blind. Just to double check R32's are DOT4 correct? Cheers.
  3. G'day All, It seems my '93 R32 GTS-T Manual has lost the ability to shift gears. A few weeks back it was fine and shifted gears perfectly no need to force it into gear, over the last week it got a bit harder I was so busy at work I didn't really pay much attention. After grabbing some beer from the local drive threw I noticed shifting was extremely hard all of the sudden, I only live around the corner from the bottle shop and when I stopped to turn into my drive way I couldn't get it into 1st gear at all I had to jam it into second give it quite a few revs to get up the driveway and onto the grass. I've checked the clutch it "kind of" feels fine, it is soft till you get 3/4 down and then there is about 1 inch of actually engaging the clutch but it still has spring back in it. I'm pretty sure it isn't the clutch pedal itself since the it gradually got worse and worse. But I am a complete novice and have no idea where the Master and Slave cylinders are for the clutch so if anyone could post up a photo or point out where I would find it and what to check to see if ones broken or not that would be awesome. My second question query is when I had the bonnet up checking things the smaller master cylinder next to the big main brake master cylinder is completely empty with fluid, I'm not sure what this smaller one is for and the cap & manual don't shed any light, I had a look and it looked like really old oil. Any one know what this smaller one is for and well, what should I top it up with? Lucky thing for me is I have 10 days off over Christmas and this happened just at my driveway. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! Chris
  4. Cheers Mr H, I've been thinking about a transplant but really eager to work out the small little issues at the moment, the guy I bought the car off had a R32 sitting at his place with a very nicely worked RB25 in it and his exact words "I will never drive it or finish the rest of the car because all my friends are V8 fans and they will laugh at me". On the way to work today I felt the car surge on and off power from an almost stop to rolling (Guessing fuel since it is popping quite a bit more from the exhaust ever since the 7-11 fuel). I've grabbed some of the Nulon Pro Strength Octane stuff (Read the article here: http://www.elanfactory.com.au/pdf/technical_information/Octane%20booster.pdf) went for a drive still pops a bit a little over half a tank so I might do as you mentioned and top it up tomorrow morning with some V-Power in the morning! Thanks very much! Chris WTB: RB25DET
  5. G'day Guys, Have a few questions that would be great to get some advice on. First one is, the missus decided to put 7-11 Premium today (I am guessing its the 95 ron stuff a full tank ) she got home, I drove to work fine. On the way home though the car seemed very sluggish and at certain revs clutching there would be quiet pops & backfires from the exhaust. I just replaced the AFM last week and reset the ECU while it was on BP98 worth a reset while on the 95 stuff?. Just wondering if will be safe to keep driving it like a grandma till its about a 1/4 empty or 1/2 and fill it up with BP 98 or would anyone recommend me adding any octane booster to the tank? (I don't have the time to drain the fuel or enough jerry cans). My second question I asked a few days back in the General maintainence section about the car getting really low revs when I clutch in as if it was about to stall. I got a response that it is due to a atmo bov but I only have a factory stock plumb back do these fail after time and worth while replacing? My third question, I am going to be purchasing a heap of gear over the coming month/s to put on the skyline the typical - Injectors, Z32 AFM, Bigger Turbo (R33 or R34), Fuel pump, Coil overs etc. I am on the north side and wondering if there is one place I can go for a full service and install the turbo, injectors & coil overs properly and a tune all at the same time? Thanks in advance! Chris
  6. Thank for the quick reply, but the car still uses the stock plumb back.
  7. G'day all, I've replaced the AFM in my R32 so far so good (touch wood) - But I am wondering what would be causing the revs to drop to almost stall. Say I am driving along in traffic in 2nd @ 1,500 - 2,000 RPM and push the clutch in the revs drop (obviously) down normally to about 800rpm to move up to 900rpm idle, nothing seems wrong here. But if I am going along in 2nd @ around the 3,000rpm mark or higher then push the clutch in the revs drop down to about 200 - 300rpm and looks like it is about to stall (but it does not) then moves back up to the normal 900rpm. Just curious if anyone would know why it drops more when the RPM is higher. Since the car was cutting out in stop go traffic I get a little nervous when I see it happen. Any ideas or info would be awesome! Cheers, Chris
  8. Long time ago for Feb but if it is on Goodfellows that'd be me. Actually saw a 4 door silver / grey R34 at work (vistor car park at work today - Incitec Pivot) looks nice, SAU sticker on it and small ERD one above the front left head light. Got to spend about 15 minutes looking at it from my desk
  9. G'day Guys, I thought I would post in this section regarding an issue I am having with my 32 Skyline (1993, Manual, Exhaust, Intercooler, Pod - 170,000kms) I haven't driven the car in roughly 3 months since I am afraid I will break down on the way to or home from work (There is no areas to pull off the road due to so much construction). The issue started on a Thursday where I was in very heavy stop & go peak hour traffic I got 1/2 way home then while sitting at some lights and about to start going again the revs were fine to about 1,500rpm then it just cut out and stalled. I started it back up and would just keep cutting out till finally feathering the pedal and riding the clutch pulled off to the side of the road and around the corner the car stalled, I sat there for 30 seconds and started the car up again and it was idling normally. Luckily I got the car home I had one more little hiccup but while going about 100km/h down the high way. I took the car the following day to the mechanics and they checked it over and found the fuel filter was a bit grubby and one of the fuel lines was unhooked from its rail and sitting higher up which was thought to be the problem. I then started driving the car to work again Monday, Wednesday then Thursday. Yet again on Thursday the traffic was stop go and the exact same thing happened it cut out while taking off from a set of traffic lights to describe it feels like a learner bunny hopping because of not enough accelerator (It would feel like it was going to go then all power is lost then feel like it is going to go and then cut out or keep hopping along). Again I was able to mange pulling the car off the road left it off for about 5 minutes then started it up idled fine and left it idling for about 10 minutes. I was able to get home again. So both times the exact same scenario the car doesn't seem to like stop start traffic. A couple of things that come to mind is you can hear the fuel pump sometimes it gets rather loud when stopping and going you hear it buzzing away then it gets a little louder like it went into a overdrive and pumping faster (Sounds like its pumping then it is just picking up air and spins really fast) - This is what I first thought was the problem. But now I am also being told is it most probably is the AFM, I haven't touched the car in months it is just in the garage with a flat battery (Going to charge it) - Picking up a new AFM on Saturday from the looks the original AFM is still on the car. No traffic / Light traffic / Highway use its fine - Long periods of stop start it gets upset. Anyone's advice would be greatly appreciated since I am a little stressed from possibly replacing the AFM and it happens a few days down the track but also it could fix the problem. Cheers, Chris
  10. G'day Ash, Thanks for the quick reply. You know what the fuel pump has been a lot louder over the last month or two. It would make the normal Vrrrm pump noise then sometimes it would be even louder as if it wasn't able to pick any fuel up and was pumping air so to speak. As for the fuel dial dropping, if I had 3/4's of a tank and left it over night it will fall about to about 3/4's of 3/4's if you know what I mean. Thanks very much, I really want to get this fixed. I don't want to be driving the missus Nissan Tiida all next week!
  11. Hi All, I am just curious to see if anyone has some advice or maybe had this happen to them in their skyline. Last Thursday I was coming home from work "Down Webster Road onto Gympie Road" heading north the traffic was terrible so much go stop I got 2 corners from my house and the car stalled. I turned it back on and then all of the sudden it wouldn't rev it would just keep dying. The only way I could get it to move was feather the pedal very lightly and try get the revs up then clutch it out to get some momentum. It seemed like a problem I had on a old car of mine (Nissan Pulsar ET Turbo) where the AFM plug would be a little lose and it wouldn't rev and splutter. I took the car to the mechanics the following day, they went and drove it to try and recreate the issue. They didn't find the issue but the mechanic did say the fuel filter was rather grubby and one of my fuel lines had popped out of its holder and was higher up than it should be. I picked the car up that Friday night, drove home no issues at all. I've driven it to and from work on Monday, Train station Tuesday no issue at all and today 1 week from when the issue started in the same traffic conditions it started again. It is rather hard to explain in text but the car just lunges forward kind of like a Learner driver bunny hopping, although it seems if I turn it off for a couple of minutes then turn it back on it is fine for a while. I really have no idea what it could be and wondering if anyone could give me any advice or if this is a known problem at all. It is a R32, Manual, RB20DET with only a exhaust and intercooler. Look forward to any replies and help! Cheers, Chris
  12. Thanks Josh, did not even think of that. Found the issue 75A Main fuse..... Went to a couple of Supercheaps and nothing..... Hope they aren't "rare". Cheers, Chris
  13. Hey Guys, I was just out the front changing over the battery in my 32, all is fine it starts but it seems a fuse has blown somewhere (I've checked under the dash all the fuses are fine) But nothing lights up on the instrument cluster, AC doesn't turn on, CD Player doesn't come on, Indicators, Brake lights. All don't work. The headlights work fine. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this issue before and might know if its a fuse somewhere else in the car which is blown? I've looked at the fuse on the positive of the battery and in the fuse box under the dash all fuses are fine in those locations. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Chris
  14. I've had a bit of attention with my car from the police but drive like a grandma, other than that never had them bat an eyelid. I don't want to stir the pot here but Nightfall I thought your father is a Inspector and uncle a former detective they should know since they are after stolen skylines. Not completely too sure about the rules so I won't post the thread. Hope the purchase goes well.
  15. I've been planning to go see my family in Sydney in the next month or so. Once you got the firm dates would be really good to know, if all good I'll jump in my skyline with the missus and join the "convoy" from Brissy to Sydney and then I can catch up with family down there. More fun driving then flying
  16. G'day all, Was just curious if anyone could point me to a place where I could get a new A/C Belt & the tension pulley or might have a part number on hand, just had a look at mine and its completely seized and belt snapped off prior to me buying the car. Days like today of 40C, I wouldn't have an issue if I was still living in Perth but the humidity is a real butt kicker. Cheers.
  17. Hey Ben, Just did a quick search and found this post - http://www.northwestnissans.com/board/threads/26965-RB20DET-and-r32-GTST-info Hope it helps. Cheers, Chris
  18. G'day all, Caught up with Chris Rogers today and got the alarm fitted. I don't have to stress at night since it didn't have a Alarm or Immobiliser. Really pleased with everything, will definatly be going back for any electric & audio work in the future! Cheers, Chris
  19. G'day Ben, Would be good to have a cruise, just got a 32 myself new to Brissy and always keen to check out new places / roads. I'm in Murrumba Downs too, been seeing a lot of skylines around the area. Cheers, Chris
  20. Just a quick update, picked up the R32 today. Look forward to meeting a few of the peoples up this way. Couple of little things I've already spotted is right rear shock is a little shot quite a bit of wheel rub on the guard with a person in the back and passenger seat hardly any with only someone in the passenger and none with just me in it. Other than that it handles very well, was coming onto the Gateway Motorway just driving normally not even had the car for 4 hours and the police zoomed across 2 lanes and screamed up behind me was pretty odd wasn't speeding or doing anything stupid at all. Only other thing at the moment is under boost if I stomped it it kind of surges and there is a little bit of a pop from the exhaust when I take the foot off can tell its running rather rich it has a petrol smell floating about, obviously needs a tune. So any good advice on tune shop or getting stuff (not too expensive) prior to a tune would be good. Will actually have a full list of what has been done to it once I've properly done the "just got home" inspection but the turbo back exhaust is HKS as well as the FMIC its a rather straight / tidy R32 needs some work on the paint here and there though and can tell its been nicely looked after. Just thought I would drop a line and let everyone know Cheers, Chris
  21. It has the basics, FMIC Dump pipe & Exhaust Pod Filter HD Clutch *Can't remember the spec at the moment* Then just the typical turbo timer etc... I am just wondering what should be a couple of the first mods to do to it. First skyline but my brother in law had a R33 with similar mods and a few extras like PowerFC and a few other bits. Last car was a XR6 Turbo back over in Perth really nice good car but I've always loved Skylines. Cheers. Chris
  22. G'day All, First post and just moved to Brissy 3 weeks ago. I just bought a R32 GTST pick it up on Thursday (Hopefully) I'm on the north side too in Murrumba Downs. I am curious too since I am new to the area if anyone could point me to a decent place to get an alarm fitted (Not sure if it has one already yet but I want something a little overkill after reading about all the skylines going missing) or I am sure my german shepard would be happy living in it Plus what tuner shop would people recommend up this way? Cheers Chris
