  1. If i was a paid member i would have an opinion and it would be: Yeah im happy with us being part of NSW, we have the ACT section on the forum to organise our stuff/events. I cant see the point of having a seperate club, with all the admin etc... theres no difference with NSW doing it, after all the ACT is in NSW. The flyer or card is a good idea..... the more the merrier. Should mention the benefits of SAU, like tutorials, traders, events and motorsport etc.
  2. Today i spent a few hours fixing threads and bolts. New cover and seal came today, so its all sorted for re-assembly.
  3. Balancer should be fine.... New waterpump today Found this bit of awesome work from a previous owner Great..... ill pull it off and see what the damage is tomorrow, should be able to sort it out. Have to get some other threads repaired anyway, so he can fix it, if its fked.
  4. Long time ago, i remember more now i think about it. Also what didnt help, the fact that there were no instructions how or where to pay the bloody thing, No one i rang was any help, ACT system works better.
  5. The guy at Nissan gave me trade price i think, the bearings cost $250 for the pair. 2 weeks wait, lucky it wasnt 4. The upper bearings are $8 each. Pressing cost me $100, the lower bearings arent easy to get out, they had to weld the bearing together to get it out.
  6. Defected about 10 years ago by some jerk down the bay in the HZ ute, never paid the fines, never cleared the defect. There was some hassle about it a year or two later, but i had sold the ute by then. I just said i never re registered it. I may still owe them money, dont know. not keen to get pulled over in NSW and find out. It was a bodgey defect in the first place, so they can shove it.
  7. Looking at my harmonic balance, i wonder if its ok still. There is a bit of a ding and bolt snapped off (will be removed), but my main concern is the rubber. A new one is expensive and rb20 specific so wont fit a 25 in the future. Can someone with experience please have a look and tell me if it looks ok. Thanks.
  8. Looking at my harmonic balancer after pulling it off........... Dunno if the rubber is ok still. Theres a bit of a ding and a bolt snapped off in there (not mine, i got it off easy with a small prybar) New ones are rb20 specific(wont fit 25 for future), and expensive, id rather not. If anyone knows about these things please give your opinion. Thanks.
  9. Re filled the gearbox, and got the arms back from cap steering with the new bearings pressed in, so i put them on and got it back on the ground. Its been up on stands for about 2 weeks now, good to get it down. No rest for the wicked though, still got injectors, afm, timing belt etc to go.
  10. I have pics of a couple of dads old engineering projects on the ps3. My fav is the M39A 30mm high rof cannon, designed for aircraft to kill tanks.
  11. Lost a bloody driveshaft nut! Cant find it anywhere, and i dont have any other pairs that will work.(balance) Hate going shopping for only one nut. Anyway on a lighter side, this came back from SA today. Sweeeet.
  12. Just plumbing. A cock is a valve. Ballcock= ballvalve. Lots of cocks in plumbing.
  13. Only if they are new, otherwise its 85-90. lol
  14. A fast bike is like flying headfirst down the road with a rocket up your ass. Awesomeness to the max! (the speed, not the ass thing) Only the fastest cars with good traction can keep up, then you get an extended swingarm and nothing short of a drag car can keep up. ............If you want to ride like that.
  15. I remember why i havent changed a clutch for 15 years.... bastard of a thing. Finally worked out the twist to get the box back on and now i realize i didnt push the aligning tool all the way in and missed the crank splines. So back out with the box..... loosen the clutch off gradually and evenly, align properly, and back together all over again. First times a bitch, but im learning the tricks to this car.
  16. Very satisfying that it works properly. correct install. Some oil on your shifter? hahahahaha! im turning into a black man from getting stuck into mine. to you a bugsplat is like a bunny through the engine fan for me. Totally different class of car, i cant believe they come from the same factory hahaha!
  17. You need a mate of a mate to do it. Thats the ACT way. Hard if you dont know anybody. Anyway.......... Got everything sweet, all clean, flywheel machined. Doh! New one tommorrow. Old clutch nearly rubbing rivets, anyone want an Exedy Housing in good nik, need to use same kind friction pate as there is wear. Free to good home.
  18. pulled the box out, omg it was filthy down there! took a while to scrub it all off need the flywheel machined, will fire up the compressor tommorrow and try the rattle gun to get it off.
  19. Yes, read ebc install instructions, and you may find (depends on ebc) one near turbo and one at intake plenum. get them the right way or it wont be good. Keep hoses as short as possible, i think less than 600mm is recommended. Use filters on the hoses, keep them close to the unit, (less than 100mm i think) I was using a HKS evc4 but its gone funny and gives serious overboost, so im not using it anymore, unreliable. going off the actuator. if i want more boost ill use one of those bleed valves.
  20. Ohhhh.. i forgot about my stash of bits of pipe, gimme a minute. nope sorry
  21. Wheel bearings i assume your talking about... Do a bit of research and make sure you are getting the right bearings, you know s1, s2 etc Your old bearings have a number on them, thats the easiest way. Ummm....... So the old hubs are off.... Take them and the new bearings to a workshop to press the old ones out and the new ones in, or it may be the race they have to take off the axle, whatever. Then re assemble and go get a wheel alignment. Your halfway there already. The other thing is you could take it somewhere thats good, and have them find the problem/s. I found im no good at guessing these things and took it to a good suspension place, thats why i know whats wrong with mine.
  22. Autobarn, supercheap, they have bits of pipe, may have to ring around as they usually have only two or three bits at a time on the shelf. They have bends and eveything. Even autopro and repco prob have it too. Or you can use two clamps if you have the room, works on mine. no lip. 10 psi.
