A couple of nights ago I went to the video shop for about 5 minutes and came out to find my window smashed in (and about $2000 worth of stuff gone). When it happened, they must have done it with a fair bit of force as the passenger window had flown all the way over to the driver's side of the glove box and as it did, it sliced the plasticy door lining at the top. Apart from replacing the inside of the door, is there a way I'd be able to fix this? It hasn't actually sliced all the way through, so it looks like a very deep scratch. I guess what I'm after is something that would fill the scratch in. Anyone know of anything? Also, has something happened to Famous? I've tried calling twice now and I can't seem to get through to them. I even left my number and they haven't called back. Now I've just got to vent a little about these damn thieves. You can stop reading here This incident has cost me thousands as I'm pretty sure I'm not covered for most of the contents in my car (half of them weren't mine, so I can't claim them) and the actual damage to the car will probably be less than the excess. I would have preferred it if they just waited at my car and asked me for cash. The stuff they took can't even be sold, so they've only got about $200 out of the whole damn thing. Bastards.

Very nice. I always thought that 12s were asking a bit too much out of the std turbo + SAFC. Obviously not. In fact I don't think I know of any other 12s without a power fc or some sort of ignition timing control.

Usually when you've done the intake, exhaust and intercooler mods, I've found that your boost goes up enough on its own to upset the ECU.

If that's a stock ECU then I'll be very surprised too. I've also got a 93 ECU and when I had the exact same mods with 1 Bar of boost my AF ratios dipped into the 9s at one point and were generally in the 10s. There's no chance your dyno operator could have changed the software on the dyno? It is shootout mode though, so this shouldn't affect it.

Don't R33s run 9.0:1 too?

and their cars from the 90s weren't exactly good looking either. Damn good time though - how did they do it? I mean I always thought fwds couldn't do times like that because all the weight transfers to the back of the car on take off?

I don't get any noise either. I also have a ridiculous amount of vapour coming out. I love the smell of petrol though, and losing brain cells is a fair trade off for that smell if you ask me

What's the difference between VCT and VVT? Does one just change the duration and the other the opening time? BTW I made a thread about this a while back but noone could help - does Nissan make ANY engines with variable timing, duration and lift? The SR20VET is the closest I've seen, but it doesn't seem to control the duration from what I can tell. Cheers, Michael

Hi all, I think I've just blown a headgasket in my car as my coolant is boiling and overflowing out of the overflow tank. I've been quoted up to $2000 to get it fixed, and apparently 90% of that price is in labour. I've also been told that it is not a particularly hard process, just time consuming. After hearing this, I was thinking I'd have a go at fixing it myself. Could someone give me some detailed directions and a list of parts/tools that I'll need to do replace it? Even a generic howto on replacing head gaskets would be great. Also, can I just order a VL RB30 headgasket, or are they slightly different? Thanks, Michael EDIT: Actually, one last thing - was my $2000 quote high or low? If I can get it for a hell of a lot less, I might just get someone else to do it.

Yeah, I can't say I'm much of a S2 fan to be honest. The 2 tone and the odd looking front bar just totally ruin the car for me. That's why I wanted to see a S1 brochure. I'm more into the 4 door versions anyway

Did they release the series 1 in New Zealand? I wouldn't mind seeing a brochure for that.

That's a really good result you've got there. I didn't get anywhere near that improvement with mine. In fact I'd say that my cam gear install has just shifted the power band up the rev range a bit and put a dip in my torque curve. I wonder how they minimised the dip at the bottom of the torque curve that I've noticed most people get on yours. I'd be happy with that result Ben.

yep, without SK, I wouldn't know half as much as I now do about Skylines or even cars in general.

It's also available in VQ25DD and VQ30DD forms. This has direct injection that the VQ35DE lacks.

What was wrong with the question? 20K is right on the low end of what you can get an S15 for. He was simply asking if 20K was just that bit too low.

He would have a NSW licence. From what I've heard (so don't quote me on this), if you get booked in another state, you don't lose points, but you still have to pay the fine. A friend of mine on his moto was booked in Victoria and he was expecting to lose points, but it never happened.

How much does a bottle refill cost? It could actually work out cheaper in the long run on the street than a turbo upgrade.
