  1. Hi guys, I realise that 99.9% of you probably aren't interested in the R34 4 doors, so you can probably stop reading here. Anyway, if you're at all interested in them, here's a really good site that lists so many things I did not know about the sedan. I just thought I'd share this goldmine of info - http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/t...sedan/&lp=ja_en There's some nice pics there too. There's no coupe info there, so if it's not your thing, then don't bother looking Cheers, Michael BTW as an aside, does anyone know if the 25GT-X Turbo models have different badging on the back from the plain 25GTt? I haven't found any close up shots of one - only the 25GTt (maybe the GT-X turbo has the same sticker, so that's why I can't find a shot of a GT-X sticker).
  2. elbee111, the ice green colour is a limited edition run isn't it? Good luck finding the codes for it There are a few colours that people have never even heard of.
  3. Sorry to hear it. I also hate to say it, but your car is probably being stripped right now. There's no way they could sell it (in your area at least) as it's so distinctive. Those mods aren't exactly your basic power upgrades. Bastards.
  4. There's an S15 convertible available, but it's NA unfortunately. It's called the Silvia Varietta. The rear end seems a little chunkier to me, but I'm not sure if it is just because there's no roof and it's an optical illusion.
  5. Are you sure you want to do that? That is a HELL of a lot of work. I think you might be able to pull it off by making a basic gokart style chassis out of pipes and putting a smallish 4 cyl engine up front - maybe something with mix and match parts like the 4AG Toyota engines (so you've actually got something to do, rather than just bolting an engine in). Let us know how it goes down the 1/4 when you're done btw
  6. I know peak power isn't telling the whole story, but the GTS25 Type S (http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/sp...spec.asp?id=655) has a slightly higher power/weight ratio than a VT series 1 Commodore Executive with the V8 option. The SS weighs even more. It'd be no match for a LS1 powered Commy, but it's still respectable.
  7. I have to say I'm in favour of red P platers having power/weight restrictions. When I was a P plater, I know I wasn't the best driver, and if I had my Skyline then, I would have had an accident for sure. Now I wasn't so stupid as to do 115 in a 60 zone, but many new (usually young) drivers do think they can do this. It may upset the good drivers if this rule came in, but to be honest I think when you're new to driving you're better off in a low powered car anyway. I know I'll cop a bit of flaming for this, but it's just the way I feel. I've seen to many dickhead P platers to think otherwise.
  8. Danh, I also got my license on an auto cos I only had access to an auto. I have been a manual driver ever since I could have my own car. There's no shame in getting it that way I feel.
  9. Hehe, you'd be surprised. Just in case you don't know, OCAU is just a site for doing up your PC www.overclockers.com.au - a fair few nicks in this thread are regulars (and admins I think too) Jay - I go by the nick dojobi over at OCAU. I've forgotten what it was supposed to mean, but it was a Japanese word that I got wrong and it meant something pretty damn stupid.
  10. I'd swear I logged onto SAU not OCAU?! Are all Skyline drivers oc'ers or do all oc'ers drive Skylines?
  11. Is it imports.motortraders.net ? It's in the FAQ
  12. R34 GTt. I'm in a similar position, and I'll be going for a GTt - although with 4 doors - which you can't easily get in a GTR.
  13. If that was the case, then most bikes would never be sold here.
  14. I've sent you a mail. It's not a GTR, but you're welcome to go for a ride in mine.
  15. In my experience, the stock one is as leaky as a sieve - even at stock boost. I HAD to change mine.
  16. Oh well, I guess the hand controller will have to do. Thanks
  17. How does it do that without any load?
  18. Ian, did you ever hear back from them about a GTT version? I'm probably going to be buying a GTT in the near future and I was hoping to get it mapped with the Datalogit software. Cheers, Michael
  19. Before you race out and buy the Pro version, just check up what the different versions do. The reason I'm saying this is because I'm 95% sure that the Pro won't do what you want. From memory, the Pro version just adds a rev holding point when your not moving (for taking off at the drags) and a different way of rev limiting (ignition cut I think). The one you're after is the D Jetro version. I don't think you can get a Pro version of the D Jetro. Anyway, do a bit of a read yourself, as I'm not totally sure of what I wrote above. Cheers, Michael EDIT: Took out possibly misleading info
  20. I wouldn't mind this one either:
  21. Earlier this year I went to the USA for 8 months. While I was gone I thought it would be smart to get my cousin to look after my car. Now it has a smashed front bar, 1 bald rear tyre (wtf?!) and there is a leak somewhere in my intake piping.
  22. Yeah, my Dad's Lexus LS400 does that. At first I thought that it would be annoying, but then I came to feel that it was a good thing as if the sensor says it's dark, then it must be dark enough that it couldn't hurt to have more light. I quite like that it will turn them on in tunnels as then I don't have to worry about doing it myself.
  23. I never would have guessed the vanity mirror! I couldn't think of one thing that a passenger had that the driver didn't. Thanks for the info. The auto light system sounds pretty damn good too. That in conjunction with the 8 speaker sound is probably enough for me to go the GT-X over the plain GT. Thanks, Michael
  24. Thanks Muz and Redline for the Power FC info.
  25. Don't worry about the hijack - I do it all the time . I'm looking at spending around $25000, and I've seen 1999 R34 25GT Turbos with 4 doors and auto transmission for around the $22000 mark. I'm looking for a manual, so the price will be slightly higher. Hopefully they are available for $25K-26K as nobody wants the 4 doors for some reason. I'm just happy that I'll get 2 more doors and a cheaper price. I'm going to write an email to a few of the importers (like J-Spec and Geoff Risbey) to see what they think. Cheers, Michael
