Thanks Rob, That's kind of annoying about the exhaust. The dump/front pipe I have is an HPC coated single piece with a separate wastegate line that I had custom made. Looks like it's time to sell it . I guess I wasn't too clear on what I meant about the Power FC and boost controller. I really want to use the boost control kit option for the Power FC as I don't want any hand controllers or little blue screens in my car. I'm sure the controller shows lots of nice info, but I've got enough crap in my car now and it annoys the hell out of me. So is the boost control kit for the Power FC a generic part, or do I have to order an R34 version of the Power FC's boost control kit to go with the R34 Power FC? Cheers, Michael

What Do You Think Of The V35 Skyline Coupe?
dojobi replied to Rezz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I love them. I saw a heap of them in the US as the Infiniti G35. They look a lot better as the US spec too. -
hehe yeah, I kind of guessed that, it was the "バニティミラー/???????" (depending on what browser you use) after it that babelfish couldn't do, and I was interested in. Don't know if I like the name suicide seat though

Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying an R34 25GT-X Turbo (4 door) in the next few months, but before I do, I have a few questions to ask that may make me reconsider it. First up, I'm planning on swapping over my dump/front combo pipe (and possibly the catback bit too) and the HKS Type S FMIC kit from my R33 and I'm not sure if they'll be a straight swap. This will also be from an R33 coupe to an R34 4 door. Anyone know if this is possible? It should just line up as it's the same engine from what I can tell, but I just thought I'd check. Also, I'll be selling the SAFC with my car, so will most likely buy a Power FC. I realise the computer itself is model specific so I'll buy that new, but I'm not too sure on the boost controller for it. Do I need to get an R34 25GT Turbo model (if so, I'll buy it new to avoid problems) or can I just get any old 2nd hand one off the for sale forum? Finally, do I need to buy the hand controller for the Power FC? I will never look at it once the car is tuned, so I feel like I'd be wasting my money getting it when I don't want it. Do most tuners keep spare hand controllers to tune with? I really want to keep the stock look and feel of the car, and having controllers in the cabin annoy me. That's why I'm getting rid of the Super AFC. Bonus questions for Japanese speakers : As an alternative to the GT-X, I'm still considering an optioned up R34 25GT Turbo so I've been using Babelfish on Nissan's site to work out the differences. On this site, http://history.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/R34/98...EC/frame4d.html (or http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/u...EC/frame4d.html translated) about 6 lines down into the table there is something about "automatic light/write system" - does anyone know what this is? The second bit I couldn't work out was 7th last line in the interior equipment section. It says the "Driver's seat バニティミラー" and "Suicide seat バニティミラー". Babelfish doesn't seem to know what it is. Those are the only bits that seemed to differ between the models (apart from the Xenon lights and the stereo), so I thought I better find out if they are good things to have so I can make up my mind on which model to buy. Thanks a lot, Michael

So there's no way you could mod the SFX to be electronically adjustable with a solenoid? I'm just tossing up ideas really. I'd have no idea at all how to do it.

new fmic, can I keep the stock airbox?
dojobi replied to firebladejr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was under the impression you had to lose it, so I got a pod like you and boxed it up. I then later found out that you can just use the GTR snorkel and airbox and it should clear it. -
Another option would be to get a GFB Stealth FX and rig up something that would adjust it. NFI how to do that though.

177rwkw @ Hills. Non shootout mode, so it's pretty much meaningless for everyone else.

Where can I get one, err for my sister of course.

how much boost for an auto r33 gts-t..helpppp!!!
dojobi replied to Nickg's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I run 1 Bar on mine, but I do have a FMIC. -
LOL Maybe a FWD SR20DET (maybe not available, but I know CA18DETs are) or SR20VE. Both are pretty good engines. Personally I'd sell the Honda and buy a Nissan, but that's just me.

Who has a 400R full kit? post some pix for me :)

Mines a full one. Go to www.ozemail.com.au/~caddies -
I think you've just got to go through the right complier. I'm not too sure on this, but I'd say they'd have a spare set of the standard lights and swap those in for the first rego, and then put your Xenons in straight after. As Xenons are getting more and more popular, I'd say the police wouldn't even think to check if they were self levelling / cleaning. I could be wrong on this though.

Yeah, judging from the other responses, I knew my figure was wrong, but that's what my book says. 65L it is then - I guess I can run the tank down lower than I thought
-
Isn't the Maxima FWD? That's one reason for the V35. Also, the V35 looks nicer compared to the Maxima imo. They really need to scrap the Maxima and replace it with a low spec Skyline (for cost reasons),
-
Just to be an arse - I have some docs that claim 60L. The same docs indicate the GTR has 72L.

hijackers make the thread interesting BTW I'm not too happy that R34 4 doors aren't on the list. Geoff Risbey seemed to indicate that they were ok though... Maybe I should get a Stagea instead. EDIT: I just realised I'm going to have to change my username if I get an R34. Does that mean I'll have to reset my post count

Nice link. I'm thinking of getting a 4 door R34 GTT or Stagea myself atm. The AWD RB25DET is looking very appealing.

HELP ME! I want to buy a Commodore!
dojobi replied to 2fardown's topic in General Automotive Discussion
A basic LS1 with breathing mods (exhaust and HSV/Monaro airbox) and an ECU edit would do 220rwkw fairly easily. No need for any supercharging for that level of power. There are some pretty insane supercharged machines on the LS1.com.au forums - check them out sometime -
I thought the reason they didn't sell was because they released the EVO 6 here the same month the EVO7 was released in Japan. I know I certainly wouldn't be buying an old model when they've just released a new one. My opinion - they had excess stock and as Mitsu Aus had been asking for the Evo for quite some time, they thought it would be a good dumping ground for the old models.

I just spent 6 weeks driving around Europe in a little Peugeot 206 HDi. It was a 1.2L NA diesel from memory. Now it had some AWESOME fuel economy. I was averaging 800km per tank - and I don't think 206s have very big tanks. This included a lot of driving at 150km/h+ on the German autobahn, so it could have probably hit 1000km/tank if I wasn't spending half my time with my foot against the floor

http://www.performanceforums.com is a good site too actually. There are some REALLY knowledgeable people there.

You're on it To be honest, basically everything I've learnt about turbos and Skylines in general came from these forums (and SDU, but I don't go there too much these days).
-
That's about right for a series 1 R33. I've seen S2 R33s at that price too, though. Skyline prices are really hard to judge though as most are modified so can bump the prices up or down by a few $1000 (and of course like any other car the condition it is in makes a difference too). In stock form, which is surprisingly rare, a 6.2s 0-100 and a 14.2s 1/4 is possible with good tyres and a perfect run. A few mods and you're into the 13s fairly easily.

Hungry, The movie I sent to GTRREX shows a 10sec Supra (my estimate - it may be faster) beating a Hayabusa from a 70mph rolling start. That movie aside, I agree with you though. Generally, with a rolling start you've got basically zero chance of beating anything above the smallest capacity bikes.
