I have a video of a modified Supra dragging a stock Hayabusa. Would that help your dispute?

Why do people hate the R33?
dojobi replied to Laurence's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Not only that, but both the weight and power figures are wrong. One other thing too - I think you meant kg/kw not kw/kg cos we'd have some ridiculously high powered cars with the figures you listed Anyway, iIt's 184kW and 1360kg (using the 93 GTS25t weight cos that's what I have). This makes a ratio of 7.39kg/kW - which still illustrates your point anyway . -
By sequential do you mean a bov that recirculates and vents (like the GFB Hybrid)? I'm not too sure I understand you. The Stealth FX is essentially a GFB Hybrid that has the vent back/out ratios adjustable. I have a hybrid with a locked ratio and it sounds awesome. There really should be no reason for it to sound crap, but I have no idea how you can install one incorrectly. Did you use the GFB adapter to install it, or have you plumbed it yourself? If you do think you made the wrong choice I'll be very happy to swap bovs

I was under the impression you could do away with the HICAS computer, but if you put your car into diagnostic mode, then it will throw error codes 11 (and maybe 12, and 13, but I'm not sure). From what I was told, it was ok to have these codes if there is no actual HICAS onboard.

When I was selling my Lancer, the guy who ended up buying it got an inspection done and he basically listed everything that I knew was wrong with my car. I was really impressed but also pissed off cos it meant I had to sell for a lower price.
-
Also, they're FWD from what I can gather, so why do you want one exactly (when you've already got a nice RWD Skyline)?
-
Yes. I have no idea how this Skyline got in my garage Seriously, though, I have never been done for speeding as I try and avoid it when I'm in town (where the cops are). Whenever I'm in my car, though, I like to listen to music. With a sub, you can't really do that with the cops in Newcastle.
-
I'm a little anti sub. Basically because it removes your boot, but also because I know a fair few people who've been done over for being too loud.
-
I'm hoping to not need spacers. I'm removing the original amp, moving the battery and moving the HICAS computer for mine. I'll be fitting 7x10s btw - and yes, they do fit, I've seen it before I'll do it soon, so if you want to wait for some pics (maybe a week or 2 - I'm OS at the moment), I'll post them up.

Does this GTS-T have a body kit?
dojobi replied to HappyPuppy's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
The Nismo ones would definitely not be fibreglass I'd say, but I've never seen a genuine one. My 400R bar is falling apart too (my cousin was "looking after" my car while I was living in the US). I am beginning to really dislike fibreglass kits. Does yours actually fit properly? I'm almost certain mine is for a GTR, which has the flared guards of course, so doesn't fit at all on the back. I might have to modify it a bit. -
Fitting the return pipe is a bitch on the hybrid (and so is finding a hose to connect it with), but it really is a great BOV. I wish I had waited another month or 3 as the stealth FX came out then. It's the best bov I've ever seen.

They used to replace the MAFs or port them in the days before LS1 Edit as it would trick the computer into running leaner as more air would flow through, but it wouldn't know this as it expected a smaller diameter. This is not really needed these days with LS1 Edit though. Whether it is actually restrictive for flow, I'm not sure on.
-
I'm just going on the results I've seen on the LS1.com.au forums. I'm talking about using LS1 Edit to remap the factory ECU. The MAFless tunes are almost always higher than the MAF tunes by around 10rwkw. There are a lot of examples of people taking in their highly tuned MAF'd car and having it retuned for MAFless operation. I can find you a few dyno sheets if you're really interested. Sounds very likely. I was just talking about the experiences of the people on the LS1 board. For all I know the LS1 has a restrictive MAF. If I hadn't seen the results they got, I would have been the first to point out that MAP tunes are coarser than MAF tunes. Cheers, Michael
-
The LS1 boys get more power when they go for MAFless tunes (ie MAP). This could be the case for us too. Any pioneers want to try it out?
-
When I had mine unplugged, I struggled to make 130rwkw on the dyno, which to me indicates that you lose the top end when it's out. It just gave me a very early peaking and flat power curve. Plugging it back in fixed everything up though.

need a dyno in sydney...check out these quotes!!
dojobi replied to firebladejr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Weird. Hills tuned my SAFC for $170, and I even took longer than normal to do because my NVCS was disconnected, and they had to work out why I was pulling 128rwkw on 1 Bar boost. -
Thanks My car pretty well came like that to be honest, so I can't help you out with the prices, but if you want a bit of advice - go for the clear indicators. It's only a small thing, but it tidies the car up immensely. Somehow it makes it a bit more modern to me. Also, the paintjob will be changing soon. It's actually pretty bad up close as I used to drive out to the sticks every day for work, so it's full of stone chips. One other thing. Make sure you get a 400R replica kit if it's going on a GTS25t. Mine's a GTR kit and it doesn't fit properly. Cheers, Michael

just bought R33 wheres my battery!!!

It's hurting my stereo install - it's right where I want my 7x10s to go. I'm shifting mine over slightly so they'll be ok. Then it will be a good thing to have it back there. -
How much does your Skyline weigh??
dojobi replied to RNS11Z's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sounds good. I might have to lighten mine up then. -
Yeah that's my car. Where'd you find it on the net? And yeah, it's a real 400R (well it looks like one kind of)

Tony, What have you stripped from your car? They're 1360kg stock, so if you're 20kg up with shit in the car (and yourself?), then that's some nice weight loss. -
GT-R Thread vs People With No Sense of Humour
dojobi replied to Rezz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I knew the Pajero/wanker one, but I haven't heard the Pinto one. What's it mean? -
I may be missing something fairly big here, but if the cars are set up completely differently (head work etc), how can you even hope to compare the turbos. You essentially need to get the same car, swap turbos, then tune the car for the different turbos. Then take them down the strip. In my eyes, it's as simple as that.
-
That is almost identical to my story! 8 years with a license, last 2 being with the Skyline. I spent the last 2 years working out of town (so not quite a field tech), and therefore did a huge amount of driving - yet I have never lost a single point on my license, had any parking tickets or any accidents. I have been pulled over for speeding a couple of times though (once was 30km/h over in an 80 zone and he let me off cos it was late and it was a straight road) I've only copped 1 canary - but for me it was on my Skyline

R33 GTST vs S14/S15 vs 180 vs 300zx
dojobi replied to supra's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
For some reason when I clicked on the thread I expected this 'Versus' thread to be about these 5 cars in a demolition derby. My money's on the 300ZX Anyway, supra, if you want the stock specs of the cars go to http://imports.motortraders.net
