  1. They are the ultimate affordable car in my eyes. If I could buy my car again, there's no way I would take my Skyline if I could get a 96 - 2000 Chaser.
  2. From the dump pipe to the cat.
  3. I don't know the separate amount for the coating, but I bought a 3" single piece dump/front pipe with a separate wastegate line (so a fair bit of work went into it) for $400 including having the whole thing HPC coated. So it can't be that expensive. I'd love to get my FMIC pipes done cos the wrapping looks like shit.
  4. QIK78U - I'd be interested in getting a tray for below my head deck too. If you could get another one that would be great. If you PM me your acct. details I'll transfer the money straight away. I'm also interested in some GTR rear quarter panels (if that's what you call them) as my 400R kit doesn't fit quite right. Could you give me a price on those please? Any colour is fine - I'm painting the car anyway. Cheers, Michael
  5. Absolutely classic Zahos! I love it
  6. Cool. That's the way I've got it set. It doesn't blow off until there's a bit of boost.
  7. OK, so even if the flutter down low won't hurt it, what is the benefit of tightening it? Does it make the car more responsive or something? I have mine set so there is virtually no flutter unless I'm only slightly boosting.
  8. That's interesting to hear about the unichip... I always thought they were really good. I mean you've got heaps of control over the timing and air/fuel ratios and even boost if you pay a little more.
  9. I might have a play with the settings on mine and see what sort of difference it makes. BTW nice new avatar. The paint job on the car looks like an oil slick. It's awesome.
  10. I suppose with or without a dyno, in the end it all comes down to the person doing the tuning. I went to Hills in Sydney because they have a good reputation for their tuning and they don't charge too much.
  11. I have a hybrid bov too, and I basically set it to as soft as I can go. I can't see any reason to have it tighter actually. It just flutters, like you say. Can anyone give me a good reason to tighten it?
  12. I'm sure some people can tune really well without a dyno, but to me it's a VERY handy tool that can save a hell of a lot of effort and produce consistently good results.
  13. Well it wouldn't hurt. Do you feel like writing one?
  14. My pre-SAFC a/f ratios were into the 9s at worst. I have a 93 ECU, so I know it's the first one. If you want me to check out the actual number on the ECU I can. Cheers, Michael
  15. I have the C's short shifter too and when my car is cold 2nd really crunches - even at low revs. My car came with this from Japan so I can't compare to the original shifter but I can say it does feel good shifting with it (when it's warm). Very tight feeling and quick to shift.
  16. That's on one of the HPI DVDs. I can't remember which one, but I can't say it looks too good. In fact I'd say it looks terrible from the side.
  17. 14 months. I might sell it and get a 180/Commodore though.
  18. I also think the S1 looks better when it's kitted up. IMO the S1 and S2 stock kits both look like shit and should be immediately replaced by aftermarket ones. I prefer the GTR style headlights on the S1 too. BTW my skyline word at the back is red, but I think the guy must have painted it or replaced it as mine is a 93 and there's no way that is one of the hybrid S1/S2 cars that they made in 95.
  19. heh, I'm the exact opposite. I HATED the sound of my Trust Airinx at first (btw this is the loudest pod I've ever heard), but now I love it. My car sounded like a jet taking off when it was on the dyno! I now highly recommend the Trust Airinx for this fact alone. Just couple it with a decent blow off valve and the pod never makes the horrible horse sound when you let go of the throttle. Cheers, Michael
  20. I've just realised what it's for actually! It must have been to hold the lighter when he had something using the real lighter socket for power e.g. a portable CD player or something.
  21. Actually I'm not joking. Mine's just a big box with a cigarette lighter in it. Absolutely useless. I have nfi why it was in there. I'll get the photos soon. It is in a box somewhere as it was removed as soon as the car landed in Oz.
  22. I think no.2 is the same as something I got in my car. It was called a "Hyper Back Socket" which is Engrish for a cigarette lighter box. If you want I'll post pics of the one that came in mine, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is as it looks so similar.
  23. not all compliancers do the stereo. I was listening to AM radio for about 6 months cos he didn't do it (and I was too much of a lazy bastard to do it myself).
  24. My stock plumbback BOV leaked heaps, you'd hear it whistle as you drove along. Very annoying. I replaced it with a GFB hybrid - the best of both worlds.
  25. that looks awesome. If you don't mind me asking, how much were they? Are they 17s?
