  7. Hmm, when mine was stock, I was only getting 5 psi before 4500rpm and 7 psi after. Either that or my boost gauge is stuffed, and I'm now running about 16-17psi. I hope not though

  9. Doesn't the HKS drag GTR use their own cam gears? I would have thought so. I mean that thing really puts the power out, so I'd say you're pretty safe which ever brand you buy.
  10. Mine was 2nd hand, and when I hooked it up, nothing was set. I assume it loses its settings when it loses power, but the previous owner may have set everything back to 0 for all I know. You should be able to just plug it in and set everything to 0 if it does have some settings. Just don't try and drive it without knowing if it has some settings already in it. Cheers, Michael
  11. Ahh, ok. Yeah I've just got a SAFC and a single exhaust gear. I didn't think Hills would have screwed it up. They've got a pretty good name.
  12. I've got one on my exhaust cam shaft. If you have a look at my dyno sheet, you'll see it actually causes a dip in the power right after the NVCS (I think that's what it is called) kicks in. I'm not sure how much more power it gave me (if any) - it wouldn't have been much though maybe a few rwkw's. I'm not sure what effect it would have on the intake camshaft, but you can buy them. I can't see it screwing up anything, but don't blame me if it does.
  13. b2barker, That all makes a lot of sense. I am glad we finally got this all sorted out. I might copy and edit my dynosheet's Torque scale on the left to reflect what it should be. After all, even if I get it slightly wrong, I'll at least be closer to what it should be. Cheers, Michael

OK, here's a full list of my performance mods - * HKS Type S FMIC * HKS Cam Slide Pulley on the exhaust camshaft - 2 degress retarded * Trust Airinx Pod Filter * 3" front/dump combo pipe with a separate wastegate line, all HPC coated. * Fujitsubo twin 3.5" catback exhaust * Apexi Super AFC * GFB Bleed valve (14psi) * GFB Hybrid BOV (not really a performance mod, but it could affect how the car runs I suppose) I think that's it.   15. Yeah, I realise that it's a multiplier, but I was just trying to work out how it all relates, as dividing my torque by the multiplier for 3rd gear didn't change it. I also tried compensating for the diff, and that was still off. Cheers, Michael

  17. Ahh, thanks. I can now work out what my torque is, which solves my problem, but I would like to know the maths behind my dyno graph. I mean, why does 3rd gear really inflate the torque numbers so much? Any ideas?
  18. Yeah, well I haven't got too many mods, but I've got more than enough to piss most insurance companies off. The price and the modability is the reason I went with them too. Out of curiosity, what mods have you got?

  22. Yeah I've been caned by a couple of SS commies before. Also a 6cyl Falcon about 3 months ago, which I am still in shock over. It must have been turbo'd or something as it was an absolute thrashing. I was barely on boost by the time the Falcon was 3 or 4 lengths on me. That said, I've also beaten my fair share of V8s, mainly pre-VT2 commies, but a few LS1s. Now why the hell am I posting in the WA forum...:confused:

  24. I called them up and Robyn quoted me $2600. I already had a quote from Young and Cool for $1950, so told her that and she gave me my insurance for $1800. I took them up on it. Now i just have to hope that their underwriting is ok if I kill my car More importantly though, I hope I'm covered if I take out a Lexus. I checked the company out a little bit, but I've got nothing conclusive yet except that it APPEARS (note, this is not confirmed) that both the underwriting company and Famous have the same company directors (those 2 Scottish guys). If you check up the ABNs, you'll find that Famous isn't the name of the company listed for the ABN they give (AGAIN, please note, this is not necessarily a bad thing - I really don't know if this has any significance). One other thing, the company itself says they are registered offshore at present, and the previous underwriters didn't give them a good enough deal, so they didn't renew their contract with them. I must stress that I am not trying to say anything bad about the company (hell, I'm insured with them myself), but I just thought you all might like to know a little extra info. Cheers, Michael
  25. Hi all, I just had my car tuned at Hills (awesome tuner btw - thanks to all who recommended them) and got 177rwkw, which I'm damn pleased with. I'd like to know what my torque is though, but the car was dyno'd in 3rd and is giving me insane numbers. I think I saw a thread on this a while back but noone actually said how you can convert the number to the real torque. Anyway, you can get my dyno sheet at www.ozemail.com.au/~caddies Anyone know? I'm sure it's got something to do with the 1.3:1 gearing on 3rd, but dividing by 1.3 certainly isn't giving me correct numbers. Cheers, Michael
