  1. When I had my Skyline I used to just turn the timer off. No big deal at all. Just to add my 2c to the mobile/cigarette thing - mobiles and any other stuff with ICs in them are almost guaranteed to not spark. Even if they did the chance of it being close enough to the petrol is very low. Cigarettes worry me though.
  2. haha I only just read Moeko's Owl then (I only read half of them before I posted the link). That certainly was a sweet act. The amount of effort in that owl was huge.
  3. Have you experienced any arse poking or anything like that Rezz?
  4. I got a bit of a laugh out of this, so I thought I'd share. It's worth the long read. http://omega.med.yale.edu/~pcy5/japanese/teacher.html Sorry if it's been posted before, but I didn't find it in a search.
  5. 99 Toyota Chaser Tourer V. I posted some pics of it in the general section if you want to have a look.
  6. Yeah I just read that thread, but then read the RAWS guide that he posted, which seemed to indicate export or destroy were the only options. So I was a little confused. If I could find someone that had Chaser halogens, I'd put them on it and hope for the best. He's definitely right that they are MY lights, so what I do with them is up to me though.
  7. That's the thing - the xenons are stock. I could buy some from the base model, but I don't know if that's allowed or not.
  8. It'd be expensive, but probably not as expensive as rebuying the headlights. The xenon lights don't comply, even though they're stock. It sucks, but that's SEVS for you. I really don't know how it would work if the parts were in the car. I'd say they wouldn't worry about them. I can't exactly bring the car in without headlights though.
  9. Hi guys, My car is coming in pretty soon and I really don't want to lose my xenon lights during compliance. I was reading the RAWS manual and it says that you can re-export or destroy the parts. Are there any restrictions on re-exportation? As in, can I send them to a friend in New Zealand, and then get him to send them back to me? Or does it have to go back to Japan? Cheers, Michael
  10. Thanks. I'm sure I missed a few posts earlier in the thread too, so thanks for the kind words everyone
  11. I just bought HPI to check it out. It sure is a nice Chaser. I might have to get out my compressor and spray gun to make it that awesome blue
  12. Not sure actually. I should find that out.
  13. If that was the 2000 model I'm thinking of, it was probably a misgraded accident vehicle.
  14. Nice spotting. I didn't even notice that. I'll see how it looks when it gets here and then decide if I want to keep it
  15. Yeah both of ours have been debadged. Mine even moreso than yours. This link shows you all the differences between them. http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/chaser/
  16. Looks nice Those blinkers are the same as the Avante ones. The other clear blinker type you can get seems to block out all the orangeness of the bulb somehow, but they aren't as clear looking as yours (more like the orange ones on mine, but in clear). So they could be a whole Avante light set, or it could just be the side blinkers. I'm really not too sure
  17. Cool, thanks The clear indicators are standard on Avantes I think. So that would indicate you have got different lights on there. Then again, lots of people just change the orange ones to clear anyway. I just hope I can keep my xenons and S2 taillights. With the side ones, I'll definitely see if I can supply them with a set. Overall, it doesn't seem like much was changed during compliance. That's very good to hear that they come with the actual glass tinted btw.
  18. Have you got some pics of your car you could send me Silver_r33? I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of some local ones as it's a nightmare trying to fight the japanese sites and use babelfish
  19. Not too fond of the carbon, but it beats the wood interior which was an option. If you were going for the VIP look, you'd have to swap the wood into it though I really don't know what I'll do about the seats and carpet. I'll probably just live with it, but if someone wanted to swap I'd probably consider it. EDIT: Actually, I probably wouldn't. The S1 interior isn't that nice either. It's just a hell of a lot better than the S2. Maybe I'll get leather or something done to it
  20. Really? english.auto.vl.ru says that all Tourer Vs from 96 onwards had xenons. Maybe yours had Avante headlights on it when it came in? That is strange that TGB don't think they can comply them. Japlink already can do it, so I'll go with them anyway. Do you know what stuff was changed during compliance?
  21. Look at the seats and carpet. Pretty horrible isn't it They also changed the dash lighting from white to orange I think.
  22. Thanks for the pics Kamikaze. That looks awesome. It's definitely a S1 too. The blue looks like an aftermarket colour as well, but it could just be the way they've polished it up. The stock blue is very dark though. That interior is much nicer than mine too. It's very much like what Nissan did with the R33. Put some crazy fabric on the seats when the series 1 velour was much nicer. I'll put up a pic of my interior to show you what I mean.
  23. Thanks for the pics Kamikaze. That looks awesome. It's definitely a S1 too. The blue looks like an aftermarket colour as well, but it could just be the way they've polished it up. The stock blue is very dark though.
  24. I'd say I'll go with Famous again. I've been with them for 2 years now. I haven't got a quote yet though. I'll be looking at other insurers over the next few weeks for sure.
  25. Good to see another owner on here I'm getting the compliance done with Japlink. I spoke to TGB and they really didn't seem too interested in complying a car for me. I asked if they wanted to use my car as the evidence car for SEVS (in exchange for free compliance), and it seemed like they would at first, but then changed their mind and wanted me to pay the full amount. I decided to use Japlink since they already had S2 compliance available and seemed way more professional. I've already got my auto Power FC for it sitting next to me. I also got the boost control kit for it. Have you had yours on a dyno yet btw? I'm planning on doing a before and after run after every mod I do so I can track the effect of each mod. Also, did you lose your xenon lights?
