yeah that's cool. I was just joking around. I took my old Skyline to Sydney to get it on the dyno last time and that was a mission and a half to find the place, so I think next time I'll get it done here. Is your dyno AWD btw?

hehe ok, maybe I won't just drop in then

Cool. I might have to drop in to see the workshop when I get a car
  4. That's really well done. Are your rims really that deep under the guards or did they exaggerate a little? Damn nice anyway.
  5. 3.9L straight 6 Unregistered - and I'd say not much chance of it being registerable so I've placed it here in the parts for sale forum rather than the whole cars for sale one. Runs, but the body is a bit bashed up (see pic) and covered in surf stickers courtesy of my sister's friends (they drove it unregistered for a while). I was going to fix it up and sell it, but changed my mind as the $200 I would get for it as a parts donor was more enticing.
  6. Yeah a lot of Hondas there for some reason. Nice pics though anyway.
  7. I think the performance car market is a bit dead atm. I had to drop my price a bit to sell mine, but it eventually happened. If you can hold on, I'm sure you can get close to what you're after as yours looks like a good example. If you need to sell right now, you've probably got to drop the price a bit unfortunately.
  8. I wouldn't go past the new BMW 4.8L 2nd gen valvetronic engine. There really is no better car engine in the world. With infinitely variable valve timing AND lift + 4.8L of capacity, what could be better? If I were to choose a 6, it'd be the VVTi 2JZ-GTE.
  9. Sorry, I just sold it today.
  10. I'd probably go for a Z4. According to Motor, they lap Wakefield in about the same time as an M3 (within 1s I think). If I had to go Aussie - probably an F6 Typhoon. The FPV GT-P appeals to me too. Mainly because I've never owned a V8 and would like to see what all the fuss is about. I've also always wanted to get an E30 BMW coupe and drop a VVTi 2JZ into one. That's a bit of a dream though. It's got a Japanese engine in it anyway, so it's kind of against the spirit of the thread.
  11. Yeah those Magic ones looks awesome. The Zoom article comparing all the flow rates was a real eye opener. I might have to get one for my next car.

haha, not too bad. I'll get the new car soon hopefully. I've paid the auction fee and everything and I've been looking at auctions for months now, but so far nothing has been good enough. Anyway, I have to sell the Skyline first. I've had a few offers, but turned them down.
  13. I have no idea why I'm sticking my nose in this thread again, but I would just like to say that I would definitely have a VVTL-i Corolla as a daily driver anyday. My gf has a 1ZZ-FE that goes really well for a little hatch, so I can just imagine the 2ZZ-GE version would be awesome to drive every day. They're the perfect car to have as a daily driver, but with a bit of guts to them.
  14. Can't say I've heard that before. How old are you talking here? Even my friend's 1940s Vauxhall shifts fast enough. Anyway, the usual time you double declutch is on a downshift, not an upshift.
  15. Match their speed once they're next to me, tap the horn 3 times to signal it's on, then go for it Just kidding, I'd probably drive at my current speed if not slow down a little. I'd be constantly watching them in my mirror to make sure they're not going to hit me though. EDIT: I guess that means my answer is A

Yep it's up for sale on Carsales right now. I've had it since 2001, so it's time for a change. I'm staying in the import scene though, but going across to Toyota. Hopefully I'll be in a JZX100 Chaser by the start of next year. The Skyline was good, but I just don't drive it much anymore. I'll still be a regular on the forums though, as I can't find any decent Toyota forums (and I like this place).

I know exactly what you mean. The palce I used to get stuck all the time was on the way to Williamtown from Newcastle on NB road. I used to work out there, so I'd have to put up with it daily. It was crazy.

Sorry guys, I've just been really busy lately. I'll try and make it to a cruise next year (assuming my car isn't sold by then), but it's just hectic at this time of the year.
  19. Yep, that's him. He's called "No Face". I loved the movie for some reason. I'm normally not too keen on anime, but this one I just really liked.
  20. We certainly get a much more watered down version than that here. That has about the same power as an R32 GTSt, which is insane when you consider that it is just a NA 1.8L.
  21. Yep, they've got all the usual continuous VVT that you get on any VVTi car, but also VTEC like lift adjustment. Not sure how they do it exactly, but the result is pretty similar to VTEC. Have a look on the side of a new Celica, you'll see VVTLi on it with the L in red.
  22. I just had a look at the specs of a 92 R32 - it's 1320kg with 158kW and 264Nm torque. The Sportivo weighs 1224 kg and has 141kW and has 180Nm torque. That's quite a difference in torque, but the weight difference is almost 100kg.
  23. Nah, that's the base model with the 1ZZ-FE, these ones we're talking about have the 2ZZ-GE with 141kW. His one had an exhaust, so probably had up near 150kW. Unless the R32 was stock, the Corolla probably wouldn't win, but I still reckon it's not quite as unbelievable as everyone's saying.
  24. I don't know, those VVTL-i engines are pretty nice, and R32s aren't that quick. It's quite possible I reckon. They're only around 1200kg or so and they've got 141kW.
