Typical R34 Problems Gotten More Advanced
533 RYC replied to Bradenmoresi's topic in General Maintenance
Code 21 could be plugs, coils or loom. Anyone got a 3 sided coin? -
Work out what clearance you need to fill (the NEO's are solid lifters, not hydraulic), & maybe order from Nissan OR ask your local engine rebuilder. They might have spare shims around they could sell you, or make some out of shim stock. A local metal trades center might be able to help you out also. Just make sure your only using 1 shim under each of those buckets!

BRILLIANT! BIG THANKS to Theo & the execs who put it together. It was a great day & for a great cause! Thanks for the insight into what seems like an expensive area that puts a lot of people off. I myself will be consulting Theo in the near future. -
Does Compressor Size Radically Effect Lag/ Performance?
533 RYC replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
LOL, you guys don't have a clue! *sigh* I guess there are some you can't educate...... I'll stick to what I do everyday, building engines - all turbocharged. Mick, stick to driving trucks & looking out for cyclists! -
Does Compressor Size Radically Effect Lag/ Performance?
533 RYC replied to Bennis's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ok Mr Lith, you seem to know what your talking about! Did you actually READ the link? It is COMPLETELY RELEVENT to spool/response! Understanding AIRFLOW characteristics of your engine determines which turbocharger is RIGHT - not necessarily the biggest - for your setup! "Turbocharger Compressor Calculations" OP's first line: I need some help and info to understand a bit more about turbos. -
Replacing Headlight Globe - Hid Or Halogen?
533 RYC replied to PureXIII's topic in General Maintenance
niZmO_Man, warps & superben are right. The flicker in your OP is a dead bulb. This has happened to me. 4300kelvin is the closest to sunlight, that's why car manufacturers use that temperature rating. It gives the best vision in all conditions. The set that are currently in my wagon are 6000kelvin cheap china ebay jobbies. They've been in there for near on 3 years, with no issues & still going strong!!! The R32 parabolic reflectors are CRAP! Here is a link for a good conversion: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/117874-install-audi-a6-bi-xenon-projectors-r32-headlights.html -

This link should help, its a bit technical, but answers your questions on airflow. 1st link in the thread is the one you want: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/442555-building-the-right-combo/ -
^ SEE! THIS! It's not about winning, this isn't a battle! All the arguments, on both sides throughout this entire thread, are essentially about creating an increased awareness, being more responsible & having & USING common sense! We can argue till the sun comes up, it's not going to change much! My advice, everybody hassle the crap out of your local MP with your ideas as to how to address the issue, because, lets face it, IT'S GOING TO GET WORSE!

Diy R34 Manual Conversion Using R33 Parts
533 RYC replied to E_Lu-SHuN's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Have you read the link I posted? The refit of the gearbox is critical. Letting the weight of the gearbox via the input shaft rest on the pressure plate can/will damage the circlip that retains the release bearing. This is a pain in the bum, as you have to be REALLY careful & it's near impossible to avoid, even with the engine tilted all the way back! If this is the issue, it's gearbox out & clutch off, as it's on the inside of the pressure plate. If the circlip is in anyway damaged, bin it, don't try & fix it. I kept my old one & still have it, so PM me & I'll post it to you..... -
Put a decent sized (600CCA) battery in it, if you don't, you might run out of spark, if it lasts that long!!! Wire the A/C thermo fan up to a switch. Hit the switch just before you start the burnout! Take the bonnet off, & if you can (I know you don't want to do this, but there are plenty of correct bleeding threads on here) remove the thermostat for more flow. Actually, You should PM buddy.duncanson & his alter ego, budskin1. He is an R33 GTST burnout master! His doesn't overheat, regardless of what his temp gauge says! Ask Superben, He knows the guy too! LOL! (sorry Ben!?!)

Yep, looks right. Now the RS FOUR S has an R33 GTR gearbox, it uses a 3/4" slave & 5/8" master. Looks like you have the same slave (3/4"), but cant quite make out the sizing on the master where the bleeder nipple is. I reckon it will be the 5/8" though. Do they have fluid flow at all 3 bleeders? Bleeding them from scratch can be a real pain, as there are 3 bleed points. Bench bleeding the master is the way to go, then I would open the other 2 bleeders & gravity bleed. Once fluid shows at the second nipple, close it, & gravity bleed to the slave. Once fluid shows, then go back & bleed at the second point with 2 half pedal pushes. Do the same for the slave. This process shouldn't take more than 30-40 minutes. Failing that, i'd suspect an install problem with the release bearing. -

533 RYC replied to E_Lu-SHuN's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
What dramas are you having? So you've got an R34 GTT gearbox? Did you use all R34 hydraulic parts? What are the sizes are the Master cylinder & slave cylinder? I'm not sure if R33 & R34 parts are interchangeable, as R33 is push type & R34 is pull type. Seeings as the R34 GTT is a pull type, when refitting the gearbox, it is VERY critical that the input shaft is not bashed around going through the pressure plate. Engagement of the release bearing to the pressure plate is also critical. If it didn't engage properly, this could give you dramas. Check out this thread if you haven't already found it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/268118-r34-gt-t-clutch-install-guide/ Pictures would be great! -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L2me3ZsSgo If it wasn't so serious, IT'D BE HILARIOUS! I bet, a lot of racing/daily pushies on the roads are fitted with tyres like these & are not suitable for road use! Reduced friction = reduced grip!
