R34 Gtr Prices -price Projections?
nomnomv8 replied to SLY33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Like with anything, you get what you pay for. In saying that the general price of these has definately dropped down and they are slowly becoming more affordable. I think a large reason for this is the huge amount of flock of absolute beat up buckets of crap that come in and get complied from Japan and are palmed off here for 38 - 42k and as a result devaluing the general market. Your best bet is to be patient and wait for bargains and trust me they do come up as there are alot of sellers atm in desperate situations. -

nomnomv8 replied to HIRISK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The Tomei Extreme Ti looks p0rn !!! Might have to take it off your hands if you want to get rid of it for the right price -
Ive never been a fan of the carbon high wing stands on anything bar white or silver but your BSB pulls it off very nicely !!

Questions About Induction Kit On R33 Gt-R
nomnomv8 replied to jnbR33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You can fit the metal pipe to the AFM's via a reducer as Jez said above but as for bolting the actual AFM to the filter it wont fit as the above filter has been pre drilled for the holes to line up with the 80mm Z32 AFM as opposed to the 65 standard/nismo one. Get your self some Z32 AFM's and take the car for a retune -

Nissan Planning The Relaunch Of Datsun?
nomnomv8 replied to iwanta34gtr's topic in General Automotive Discussion
^^ Good point. If they are not Aus Delivered i'd estimate that including import costs, registering it on our roads (provided they can even get them through compliance which is going to be very hard to imagine) and all other relevant fees associated with it the price will blow out easily to around 15k. Then one asks the question.. Do you really want to buy a datto for that price, pour another 5-10k ontop for the engine conversion and modifications when there are so much better bases out there for the same price? -
Nissan Planning The Relaunch Of Datsun?

SR conversion ASAP -
Mike, the cheapest ive found the genuine Mines baffles was around $300 from memory which isnt too bad considering the Hi Octane ones are somewhere in the high 200's. Only downside is the long wait for overseas shipping (allow up to 2 weeks) as opposed to the 30 min drive to Silverwater for the Hi Octane ones

Legality Of A Z-Tune Style Cf Bonnet
nomnomv8 replied to nomnomv8's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Cheers for the help/advice guys bonnet will be going on very soon. Unfortunately my painter is pretty busy atm doing a resto on an XY GT so looks like il be rolling with an uncoloured CF bonnet for a week until it gets sorted lol come at me 5-0 -
^^ Solid work mate! I might make a call my self as well and try dig a little deeper. I always just state the obvious modifications on the car that are to the clear to the naked eye - ie exhaust, wheels, in car stereo. Things that are easy to remove like ecu, boost controllers, turbo timers and hard(er) to detect hardware like clutch, low mount twins and engine internals tend to go unmentioned and it all goes back to the catch 22 scenario of if you declare them come the unfortunate time for a claim they will be deemed "illegal" regardless so whats the point of notifying them and spending the extra $1500 a year in premiums. At the same time I dont think they will be disassembling your motor and saying "Hold on you have Tomei Camshafts and camgears and forged pistons so we are not going to pay you". If what your saying is correct then I can sleep abit easier at night knowing this lol - I will contact them to get a definitive answer with recorded details incase I ever have to refer to it though (hopefully I never will but better safe than sorry)

Sorry to Hi-jack your thread but one thing I dont understand and need clarification on for anyone who modifies there car in a way which is deemed "illegal" ie not engineered : Hypothetically if I have all these illegal and unengineered mods (computer, boost controller, turbos etc) however I do declare them to my insurance company do they still reserve the right to deny my payment in the unfortunate situation that an accident was to occur ?

Hi, I was wondering what the legal status of a Ztune style CF bonnet for an R34 GTR is. Reason I ask is as both the VS2 and Ztune GTR's did come with CF bonnets from factory so theoretically putting a "Ztune Style" bonnet should be fine but I understand in real world application this is far from. From my understanding carbon fiber bonnets in most cases are illegal and will not pass ADR's. As far as i know the only ADR compliant vented bonnet I have found is the ones made by www.Blitsbodykits.com.au but aesthetically they don't cut it for me. The bonnet will be colour matched to the vehicle so it wont stand out like dogs balls to the 5-0 however any knowledgable HWP officer will be very quick to spot this, especially when accompanied by bonnet pins. If anyone can shed some light on this please let me know.

Brand new ???? Thats bloody cheap ! Only had a brief look on Nengun and they want something like $2350 per headlight lmao who are they kidding, I would rather watch my car burn down than fork out almost 5k for headlights
-
What prices have you gotten on brand new genuine replacements if you dont mind me asking ??? In the process of hunting a pair as my headlights are really letting my car down atm due to their crappy condition (car previously had eyelids on it to hide the scratches on the top of the lens which I only found out about after I bought it ). PM me if you like Cheers

Have a look at the RB26 Dyno thread and it becomes quiet evident. The -7's are pretty outdated now (basically N1 equivelants), not to say there is anything wrong with them for a street car but if I had the choice between -7 and -9 I would go the -9's without any thought. The -9's have virtually identical response with a higher top end. Only downside is that they dont come with actuators and are in turn slightly more expensive when coupled with a set of adjustable actuators (couple of hundred $$$ difference). Aside for that -9's all the way
