Hey guys. So, I've got a 2001 S2 ER34 Skyline, It's N/A. I bought the car and drove it around for about two months with no issues at all, then I started to get the check engine light come on, the car would lose all power and run on probably 4-5 cylinders, As usual, you could turn the car off and on and the check engine light would go away, but would then come on a day later or 5 mins later, completely random. After reading up on this being a usual problem, I took all the throttle body off and found there was cheap ebay coilpacks in there. I removed them and chucked in a mates Stagea coilpacks, OEM ones. Put it all back together and drove it around for a day with the check engine light NOT coming on. Next day, boom.. check engine light. BUT, It wasn't losing any power/ running rough. Did the same thing, turn the car off and on and the light went away. It got more consistent. So I took the coilpacks out, took the plugs out, cleaned the plugs and checked the power going into the coilpack plugs, All 12volts. I checked they were all sparking consistently and the same. All good. I chucked everything back on and everytime I start the car, the check engine light will stay on, It drives fine, no misfire, no rough running. Today I took it into a local auto elec and had a diagnostics run on it, Code 21. He cleared it, started the car up again and boom, code is back. Car is still running fine.. Does anyone have any idea as to what it could be... I'm stumped atm.

Okay so I went out just then and started her up, let it warm up. The oil sat at just under "4" on the dash, I checked the actual dip and it was like half way up the stick, also had my brother rev it at a stable amount and there is no smoke today, not even when I let off the accelerator..

I might setup my camera and test this as I won't be able to get a chance to drive it illegally for a while. But I do know that when I have the car sitting and I rev it, after I take the foot off the smoke comes out, can't see any if i'm holding a constant rev. Well I think the meter on the dash was at 4

If It is while on boost, that means turbo seal or something?

Any idea how I could confirm what it is? Paid 2.8

Hey guys! I recently purchased a R32 GTS-T with no compliance plates for a cheap price, the car runs beautiful, but i'm a bit concerned. I took it for a fairly decent drive today (Illegally, shhhhh ) to see how it ran, All the gears are fine, oil meter was fine, temp was fine. It definitely has power, turbo kicks in nicely and haven't noticed a problem with it. The car has had the idle problem but the previous owner "Fixed" it, so it'll idle at around 1.5 constant. But my main concern is the blueish smoke that comes out of the exhaust after letting off the accelerator while idling, as far as I'm aware it doesn't smoke when driving, but then again I'm not behind the car to confirm it fully. The blue smoke says to me, OIL!! It does leak a bit of oil from somewhere but not sure where abouts YET, although it's around the general area of turbo/power steering. Could this be fried piston rings? or something a bit simpler. I'm only eighteen with no previous engine building experience but would love to take the engine out and rebuild it just to confirm my suspicions/nice learning curve.
