Does anyone have a Short shifter installed?
Stirlo_GTR replied to Mr R32 M-Spec's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey 51jay.. :slap: I had one in my old car and it made a massive difference. Was just noting that driving with short shifters are much better.. so yeah *** you! -
http://www.brant.com.au/ They range from $350 - over $1000 "but this includes install". Now, lots of people like to do their own but its a job you dont need to do, I have personally watched them do several and the guy is good at what he does, havent had any probs with thier system, I would go for thier base alarm with key pad (six digit security code imobilisation) its about the $500 mark.. If you go for a boom-and- bang (Boomerang) it needs to be set up properly and I have heard of many issues with them, ask amaru, there biggest point is the remote start and pager, which is great if you want your car to jump into another car or a curb? or you want dick heads to be paging u everytime they walk past your car. I have a mate also with a talking alarm, it scares the shit out of people and has the keep away form me affect.. they seam to work well, how ever they go off all the time... If you get a cheep alarm you open your self to all kinds of trouble, such as having to re-do the job cause its failing, get one that just goes off all the time for no reason, or one that just dont work.. I would once again recommend brant, they do it for you, they warant both the alarm and the install, and they are not that highly priced, and they will go to just about anywhere.. PLUS if you organise more than one car you can get discounts for it.. if people in canberra wanna organise a few to get them let me know and I will organise something as I am planning to get one done myself.

15 year old GTR sceptics

Enrico All I can say mate is BS. I have had nothing but exceptional service from Geoff, and My Dad also bought a car through him (92' soarer) based on his integrity and level of service He delivered to me durring the importation of my car. He Offers an exceptional system to import a car and a guide to this process, he services more customers than you probably considered. Primarily his business is based around and the 15yr rule and should it change it will be economically BAD for his buisness, so it stands to reason he would have a vested interest in the rule not changing. If you were in the same situation look what you would do.. I know I would not trust any car dealer in australia more than I would trust Geoff's word. What Myself and my dad bought was definatly True to his word. Do not slander people on this boad if you have a personal issue with a business. I am sure that he did the best to his ability to help you. Amaru there was more too your issues than you have lead on... so unsubscribe!!!! sorry for running a buisness.. magority of His clients are very happy there is actually MARKET for lower quality cars... If a import/dealer wish's to buy these to repair and sell it is on thier head not Geoff. I might also add that as you know he takes a flat rate it is no advantage to him to sell you a dud, and repaet business/referal is a big one for him so it is in his best interest to get you what you want. I dont belive it is relative to bring dealers or agents into this discussion, and you must be aware of the re-pocussions of doing this. -
Monkeys yeah.... sorry I got alittle excited when I saw him..
-
It was a good operatunity if you were carefull/not stupid.. to pass it up was your choice, dont hate cause someone took up on it, thats all, there is nothing wrong with mine and i promis I could sell it tomorrow and make $5-10k.. we got a good deal cause we took a risk, that s how life works. cant we all just..... get along... :grouphug: :whackit: :whackit: :whackit: :whackit: :whackit:

Dickson inspec, help needed ASAP!!
Stirlo_GTR replied to Veilside R33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
sorry I know thats not helpfull.. I previosly had a Subaru Legacy RS, Bright ferrari Yellow, Full adapted C-West Kit, lots a mods tas in hot 4's little while back. When I bought that car stock, it came from Vic to Canb, and it took me 7 Dickson RTA inspections and 3 police inspections, one at my house... They decided it was stollen... anyway each time I went through they would find some thing that they didn't the first time.. and they do this so you pay $11 bucks each time.. dont underestimate them they will be a massive pain in the arse! BUt you will get it through just be Very polite and try hard to be-firend them, this is the most important thing. When the car was mass modified it went through for a random inspection .. took 2 times but they new me by this time and were much easier on me.. I would say play that avenue.. and play stupid make them stupids feel smarter and they like that!... -

yep... ur ****ed.. -
That pics not of a GTR? and its not GTR pipping...it is steel, I bet when you take it off its hella heavy. Not all the pipping in a GTR is plastic (you mean rubber) there are some straight metal sections. unless mine is different and I dont know it...

Good luck buddy hope all goes well!!! note: waiting to say it.......:shake:

Original Godzilla! 89' R32 GTR -
Sorry but that is incorrect... to check for side intrusion bars you would haver to remove the door skins and the RTA will NOT do this during an inspection they will turna round and say " can I have the engineer cert pls?" or something to those means.. you require a cert and the compliance spec as to the 15Yr rule standards. Guys as much as this sux you best off just doing it. Call John Wilson from AKZ Engineering he is the most help full and cheepest I found, Give him a call and say I refured you. I will post his contact number shortly... Jap Manufacturer's started installing side intrustion bars in LATE 89' as the standard changed in 1990, most all cars you import from 1990 on WILL have them fitted as standard. but pre 1990 ie 89' only limmited few had them, mine - did not- it sux and is likely to cost $450 installed if I remove and strip the doors, which I have already done. There is nothing more tomrnting than having to pull appart you brand new baby. BUT the sooner it is done the sooner it will be registered and I can drive it (with out being dodgy ).
-
what if thats one of us.. conflict of interest...
-
B- oath....
-
I have done all the work my self appart from the inturstion bars as it requires some skill full welding. there isnt much to be done to GTRs only really 4 major things, intrustion bars/ stop light/ child restraints/and the engineer cert every thing else is just normal RTA stuff.. I am only waiting on Skyline Performance to weld the bars for me, they are pretty busy...
