  1. Exactly what I was thinking. 👍 Throttle control is everything and the car only goes as fast as your right foot right ? Ok the cars will be set on: Blue 32 - 6466, E85, 33psi, 265/35R18 RS4 White 33 - twin GT-SS, 98, 21psi, 265/35R18 AD08R White 32 - 6466, 98, 15 - 20psi, 245/45R17 RS4 I've got a feeling the AD08R will come out on top and make all the difference.
  2. Yep same with the gearbox. Kudos actually sell a complete bellhousing kit which also went onto this car. Yes I see the Amayama packaging. Careful with their supposed UD "equivalent", as I have got some that were not even close to what they were supposed to be. Also just picked up some BP ultimate to give it a bit of a flush tomorrow for a couple of hundred k before I switch back to racefuels control E85 for next weekend. I'll be on E85 same tune for the drags and motorkhana, so I guess the question for motorkhana is do I run the full tilt E85 33psi 611kw or knock it back to 22psi ? 21psi on 98 with the 33 is a handful with 330kw on the twistes so I can only imagine what 600kw + will be like. 😆
  3. Yeah all gears are becoming expensive. I wouldn't let a set of crown wheel and pinion go for less than $1k now.
  4. Replaced both door window glasses, inner and outer door windows trims, door seals on the body and lower door seals as they were all stuffed. Installed new 4 x 6" front speakers and speaker holders while I was there too.
  5. Car is out of the blocks ! New plates and re-regoed. New 6466 turbo on, 15psi on 98 and 15w-40 Penrite run in oil. After 100km first impressions: -Twin ATS carbon is unreal and even more progressive than our triples. Absolutely shits on the NPC ceramic that was in it in every way. -Motor is very quiet surprisingly and unassuming. Drives great off boost for a 2.6. Gearbox refresh also feels great and stock rear diff locks hard. -6466 on 2.6 with T4 divided 1.00 a/r feels lazy compared to the 2.8 with big cams. Only running 15psi though, cam gears set to 0 and bugger all timing on 98. So far a bit of an unfair comparison to the blue car as I think the 6466 really needs a fair bit of boost and timing to really wake it up - my base is 22psi on the 2.8 on 98, 32psi on E85 on the other car. I'll call it a win so far at this point. More to come - I guess so far, so good.
  6. Yep beat me, got my 33 GTR in mid 2003. Sucks about Wakefield Park for you guys
  7. Yeah I love it on the blue 32. I will say Precision have made some changes to the Gen2 6466 compared to my existing gen2 6466. CHRA and exhaust housing castings are noticeably different / improved ? I had to double check that it was infact the T4 divided 1.00 a/r exhaust housing, as the external shape is completely different, as well as the Precision turbo labelling cast into the exhaust housing now. One big noticeable difference is the rear outside stud hole on the T4 is machined with more clearance now, so you can actually get a ring spanner on it instead of an open ender 14mm. This was a big complaint for me and it seems Precision have fixed it - yay ! Hopefully fire it up in a couple of hours - note the location of the OPR.
  8. Yep, thought fark it and pulled the gen1 6266 off and went the gen2 6466 same as the blue car. Another $4k donation
  9. Yep it went into 6. Before testing this weekend some last minute changes....
  10. I agree and get what you're saying, but only Nismo 280lph will ever be exact direct replacement.
  11. I reckon my old man has that record with the white 32 GTR. 78 in November, although technically on SAU through me. In other news, Duncan is this for real ? Just seen news about Wakefield Park ? https://autoaction.com.au/2022/08/19/wakefield-park-to-shut-the-gates-september-1st
  12. Just did a compression check - 140 - 145 psi cold. Also cleaned and flow checked the Denso 1000cc injectors to verify. One is a little higher than the rest, so hopefully shouldn't cause any dramas. They flow closer to 1100cc at 40psi.
  13. Yeah epic headf**k for 6 bolts ! No pump E85 here - closest is Adelaide or Darwin so I have to drum it up. Definitely try and get some videos. My nephew took heaps last year but I don't have them as I think they all ended up on Facebook. I am determined to have all 3 there in action next weekend. Fingers crossed 🤞
  14. Adding more attention to detail, I addressed an issue on both 32s that's been pissing me off for a while now - the correct front left inner driveshaft bolt arrangement. I guarantee most GTRs around have the incorrect bolt, as up until now most I've seen have an M8 bolt shoved in there with 12mm heads / nuts. Now being the OCD type of person I am, I was determined to get the CORRECT grade and design bolt to make sure there is no chance of movement there. The correct bolt is supposed to be a 12mm head, with a 10mm shoulder and 8mm thread with M8 nuts / 12mm head. Because of the clearance in the shaft area no you can't just use a more common M10 bolt and nuts with 14mm head as it just won't fit down there. Finding this has been painful, and will illustrate my point about Nissan FAST not updating their suppression chain for superseded part numbers correctly. According to Nissan fast, 32 GTR part number is 39606-56S00. As you can see, out of production with no replacement listed. Ok cool, let's check R33 GTR. BCNR33 part is listed as same part number in Amayama, so discontinued and no replacement. RHDjapan interestingly though lists a replacement for superceded 39606-56S00 as 39606-5690A. Cool, also conveniently not available. Now starting to get more annoyed I double check JP car parts, as I have found them to be far superior with availability, reliability and are 1000% faster than Amayama ever is. It lists as available when RHDjapan and Amayama list as discontinued ?! Strange.... Anyway $60 and 2 weeks later from Osaka for 6 bolts finally I have them, but they arrive with a completely different number again, 39606-56S0A which is not cross referenced in Nissan fast for RB26 at all. Out of interest I checked RHDjapan just for a cross reference with the 3rd number, punch it in and it comes up - WTF ?! Forget Amayama, no deliveries to Australia- WTF ? Now if youve followed all of this, it is just one example of how shit Nissan fast parts referencing has become and how unreliable Amayama can be as a reference point. After my last couple of dealings with them I absolutely refuse to use them anymore as waiting 3 - 6 months for parts is just unacceptable, and they just don't cross reference properly. I can't believe what a headfk a seemingly easy part to get turned into a nightmare - it's 6 bolts FFS. The parts in question fitted: I am now on 2 weeks off to finish setting up all 3 cars for the race meeting on the 1 - 4th September. Next on the list is to have a look at the launch control settings in the Haltech.
  15. L is 33/34 as an L will put the positive on the outside on a 32. In reality they all can fit each other depending on your preferences. The 40 though is a crap size as they are just too small.
  16. Same thing with the Nismo gearbox crossmember mount. I broke one and bought a Nismo one. They are IDENTICAL. I've now mixed it up with the other standard ones I have, as even the casting part number in the rubber is the same, so I don't know if I'm using a Nismo one or not now !
  17. Almost drag and motorkhana racing time. 2 weeks to go, so time to dot the i's, cross the t's and get prepared - go race fuels 👍
  18. I surprised Sam said that actually. There is a reason the V160 uses ATF - the synchro material. Normal gear oil as opposed to good ATF like Castrol Transmax Z will attack the synchro baulk ring over time, the same with the Tremec T56 / TR6060 that uses ATF too. You can give it a go as it will definitely make the gears quieter with gear oil (i wouldn't), but I hope you don't plan shifting above 6000rpm. It won't
  19. I mentioned a failed capacitor on the PCB, but it actually could be directly on the motor. Have you checked if there is one on the motor assembly unit ? If there is it is most likely faulty, as mentioned a lot of motors use a capacitor for initial start up. Could end up being a $5 fix.
  20. I'm sure the Golbeys ones are fine, but why not just use genuine Nissan as most people do ? For reference, GRP is Golebys own in house brand - Golebys racing
  21. Clutch is engaged or disengaged - not in, out, released, de-released, coupled, decoupled, uncoupled, unengaged blah, blah 😄
  22. Start up motor torque sounds like a faulty capacitor issue on whatever PCB controls it. Bit of a prick to verify though
