you guys got it all wrong, diesel fuel smell is the same as unleaded, its the way the diesel engines burn the fuel that smells, but with new direct injection technology the smell of diesel cars has dissipated my more the 80percent, and as for the living standads being beter in europe and the income is higher, i think you got it all wrong jeetee, the average australian income is higher then the average europe income, people living on 1000euro salarys, yes 1000 euros a month, still have to buy petrol like everyone else at the same price, and everything else is the equivilant like here. so who do you think is beter off, we here with out average 3000-4000 saleries or them over there with high petrol and living expences with low monthly incomes...
-
if your gonna buy or drive a turbo car you have to know its not cheap., people dont realise that petrol is still very cheap compared to europe where i was paying over a euro per lire which was about 2 bucks a year ago, when the prices here come to about 2 dollars a litre youll see what expensive is, but so you all know it will get to that price very soon

its the only way to do it, why rebuild now when it still has potential to run low 10s without touching anything.

garett arnt bad in chipping norton

youll be right, just make sure she's nice and warm b4 giving it curry. What piston and clearance are you running?
no idea mate, i bought the car with no idea what engine work it had done, but ive been killing it for the last 18months, and seems to be holding, it has really loud piston slap when its cold but after i warms up it goes away, i was told thats a tell tale sign it has forgies, but im not sure, so ill race it till it dies, then rebuild from scratch.
-
yeah they crack me up too Wrecky.....wheres the timeslip BOYS...
at least post a dyno sheet so we can see this the figures for ourselves.
-
i just hope it wasnt piston slap or something gone wrong

my cuz ran a 13 flat, off the rev limiter, running 15psi, cat back exhaust, standard verything else including clutch which didnt last long.
-
but my 720cc injectors didnt make much or any noise in the standard rail, but after installing the hls one it makes quite a loud pulse, not sure if its casue of the anodised alluminium rail.
-
I have an ultimate street gtr, can you demolish me?

Gcg = Rip Off

just wanted to know if anyone herr on the forum has installed an aftermarket fuel rail with aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and heard a quite noticable pulse coming from the rear of the rail, i heard it the first time last night after installing my hks fuel rail and want to know if its normal and if anyone else has had the same things happen

Keep dreaming mate, the process is barely slower once practiced and if u werent such a novice you would understand that it alows you to get a lower gear at a much greater speed without the compression bullshit, but hey what would i know about that shit
in my opinion u cant properly drive unless you can do it. But that said it is really neccesary for racing use only. its not REALLY needed to drive as slow as wrecked head must.
to think you would be gone is a joke, you wouldnt even be in the lower gear yet. And if you did decide to release that clutch (not doubling it that is) at the rpm im changing into the lower gear at then that would really be something to watch.
hey dude, no offence man, but seriously dont comment on peoples driving unless youve driven with them, so what you wrote above is a load of crock. some people might think double clutching is effective to get the revs up while hanging gears, some people dont think its effective at all, each to his own, i belive the more power you have the less need for double clutching, when i change gears i still keep my revs up anyways. but good luck ,and if your ever in sydney wit you car dont hesitate to send me a pm so we can see these driving skills of yours
-
hahah by the time you double clutch your car around corners and on the staright, i would have left you by miles. what a waste
-
you guys always get the sharp end of the stick, sydney isnt as bad, just move down here its easy
-
it will never happen, street racing has been around for the last 30 years, if they couldnt stop the HQ holdens racing on the street when we were babies, what can make them change legislation now.
-
congrats on the buy, looks like a nice car, let us know when you run that 10sec pass.
-
i still ove to go to the runs, but never to race, i only like to go casue i know what my car can do and most people know what my car can do so theres no point racing anyways.
-
just to inform you guys, the runs are on every night of the week, new streets and suburbs are being seached for as we speak, looking for the next ideal place to host the illegal drag meetings every night, theres nothing we can do. the best thing we can do is keep the skylines away that way we cant be blamed for any more accidents.
-
sydney is where the setup is, might be a little far to come have a look, ill send a pic as soon as i possible can, then you can make an offer.

my car only has cat back and running the 7psi sloenoid open all the time. But yeah I reckon the extra power and torque once they are underway can be seen. Off the line I just let out the clutch and floored it but to be a chance I would have had to drop it a bit. We were both equal to about 20km/h then he started to pull a bit probably about a car length to 100kays I reckon. I have a dump pipe ready to go on, hopefully that will help but yeah the v8s have a bit of power these days.
Maybe I should get over it. ...[/quote
did you knwo that a v8 need only spend about 3grand to make his engine chop any gtst and some gtrs. like i said not to be underestimated
-
i might have to get on a plane and get their first, so people dont get offended when i buy a car that they wanted.
-
i dunno why a lot of people under estimate v8s, esspecially the utes. i have a VU ss 5.7L and it went very well. so i assume power to weight the ute should win anyways
Cracked Piston = Bad Tuning
in Forced Induction Performance

just to give some insight into what casue JETT to fail at the last WSID meet, after many weekes of waiting the engine is out and motor was stripped, not long after the bottom end was apart we found NO#5 piston cracked all the way down the side, and after taking the piston to many workshops all experts have decided and confirmed that the piston only cracked due to the TUNE being very very lean and detonation caused the piston to crack, after mentioning who had tuned the car last ( CROYDON RACING ) all but one person started laughing at me asking me why i was so dumn to take my car to them for tuning, not only did all but 1 tell me they are a waste of money, but I was also told by all 4 mechanics at 5 differnt places that they have NO or little idea how to tune a gtr power.
SO my conclusion is if your going to tune your car and have any doubts about croydon, avoid them at all costs, I have personally been and watched c and v tune my gtr on the dyo, and know that their tune is much safer and still ran the same power figures.
AS for croydons $1600 tune, i say good luck to thoise stupid enough like me to take it there in the first place.
Good luck...
