the actuator rod is connected to the flap of the wastegate - yes the actuator controls how/when the wastegate opens (and how it opens depending on type of actuator) the RB20 actuator will run more boost than the RB25 actuator as R31Nismoid said

sorry, maybe i should clarify, it is not the nismo type that just bolts up - it is the universal nismo type with the adaptor so there is an extra outlet on the unit (for the adaptor to be added). so just wanting to clarify which outlet i join the adaptor to and which one the other one goes to (fuel line). I realise the other one for vac or whatever is goes to the plenum. so please if someone has pics of rb20 setup i'd appreciate it. thanks ***EDIT*** is this correct? (check pic)

hey i've searched and all i can find are links to rb25 FPR installations. Has anyone got a pic of a Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator installed on their RB20? I know it may be pretty simple install, but i just want to see how others have done it before i try start the car. PICS PLEASE / LINK TO PICS T H A N K S heaps -Matt

yeah only with the year difference you may have banjo problems... as my cefiro 1990 had different size banjos compared to r32 turbo when i upgraded (and to hks 2530 & hks 2540 & now GT3076r) i changed to banjo's to suit, and the standard 32 ones (later model suited all my upgrades).

just curious, if it such a bad design, the merging ones (that dont go 6-1 like 6boost style) why are the cast HKS / APEXi manifold the merge style? also why do the japanese company's such as DMAX / HPI (their cheaper option) offer the cheaper style manifold at still a pretty high price... (500+) compared to the ebay ones? i know proof is in the numbers, and it has been proven... just curious cheers -Matt

Hey guys got a braided oil feed line, excellent condition, came off my rb20 engine, and can be used to replace standard turbo lines, but more commonly for upgrading to hks 2530's etc. makes turbo install/removal a lot easier being a flexible line rather than fixed metal lines. $80 cheers -Matt LOCATED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA!!!! willing to post at buyers expense. **BRAKE LINES SOLD**

well paint colour should be revealed soon ultimately i would like 280+rwkw, but i do have gtr injectors with fuel reg, so unsure if i have enough fuel from this and also walbro intank pump. also skeptical on the whole setup as its on a rb20 based engine. should find out in the next month or so

well with help from my fellow FULL TUNE members, and SIMON from MORPOWA - i've been slowly getting this thing done. there's 2 major mods going on at the moment, exterior and power. only going to go into detail about the power side of it for now and unveil pics once car is all finished. POWER well the hks2540 is long gone, and 1400r sourced me a dmax manifold from japan which is now on the car. I also got myself a Garrett GT3076r IW with the .6 front and 56trim wheel with .63 exhaust housing from SIMON at MORPOWA he also modified the wastegate to have a larger port and also larger flap. Coming off the back of this is an awesome screamer dump / front pipe with flex join from AM PERFORMANCE here in Adelaide. I modified my intake pipe which i had on the previous setup to suit this turbo, its not perfect but it will be more than sufficient for the job. still have to fit the nismo adjustable fuel pressure reg that i've got, but that is a simple bolt on item. I am nearly at the point of starting the engine and hearing this thing run again, but i'm still waiting on the return of my I/C pipe modded, hose for oil drain - then all sorted. 260+ is the goal for this setup by what boost... now that is the question...but i will find out soon enough. EXTERIOR i have a 'few' more new things which will make the car stand out and make it more individual over other ceffy's, including other pieces from other cars which have been modified to suit... more on that when its all finished though! i will put up a pic of how the car looks at the moment though. cheers -Matt

New Rb20 Turbo Water Line Bolts Dont Fit?
huddy replied to fuller_james's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
he would've been correct, problem is cefiro rb20det and r32 rb20det have 2 different banjo fittings/bolts. you are simply going to need to make the bolts on the turbo adapt to your banjo fittings / bolts. -
Using Ecr33 Brake Booster On A31. Any Benefits ?
huddy replied to robots's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
you will have less of a spongy pedal if u use a r32 4pot caliper master cylinder. I did this on my ceffy, to get a better pedal feel. the r33 one is slightly different design, i think and that is why i couldn't use one of them (as in the brake lines wouldn't directly fit). -
thanks for the reply - and what you say does make sense, i recall one of the MTQ guys saying that it was the .63 exhaust housing -m option that was hard to obtain... ? does this make sense???
-
ok... well the setup in question (on the rb20) main problem was that the actuator was not closing the wastegate flap - only half way!!!! SO that would definitely make it laggy as and cause boost issues. i'm getting mine ported out with a larger flap as it seems Garrett australia and garrett america do things completely different, and talking to guys from MTQ it is just going to be less of a headf*&k to get it ported out. i've been told that it may still overboost, but will be better than it was. hopefully shouldnt be too much of a problem as i'm aiming to run around 20psi anyway i will update as i get more stuff done
