  11. quick question mate bought some adjustable cam gears off of ebay for a bargain. now may be a stupid question but are adjustable intake and exhaust cam gears the same? the gears look identical - but they have the normal 4 holes for the camshaft - but it has 2 locator pins. this mean they are universal for in and ex? cheers matt

  13. Attaching the Hoses Remove the oil filter from the engine and attach the engine adapter. Make sure the two ‘O’ rings are in place. I used a little grease to hold them in place. Take note of the orientation of the engine adapter hose connectors, check the markings, inner and outer, this orientation will be required later. Outer is for the outside of the filter, and the other is the inner of the filter (threaded section). The oil from the engine is pumped through the outer of the engine adapter, through the remote filter outer (small holes with rubber one way valve), across the oil filter element to the inner threaded section of the filter, then to the cooler and returned to the engine via a long hose to the inner threaded adapter on the engine. If the hoses from the engine adapter are on the wrong way, the one way valve in the oil filter will prevent oil circulating through the filter and cooler. Take note of the orientation before you mount the adapter. ok - excellent guide - i have a couple of questions with this though. im probably overthinking it. but i just want to make sure i get it right. does this mean the oil cooler is fitted on the inner of the the two lines? also with the core mounted straight up and down - which way should the lines be going in? should oil be flowing in from the remote filter to the top of the core - then from the bottom of the core to the engine? thanks heaps -Matt
  14. i think there is a guy with an old school turbo similar to this on his drift cefiro - RB25 also - making 260rwkw - BUT - specs help...
  15. cheers trent - we ended up leaving the wheel in the pump, but it is now pumping out of the pump, through the power steering cooler and back into the reservoir. If the pump fails, i have a spare pump on hand which i will then modify. cheers for the reply
  16. hmm ok might just go gears for now - as simple to fit, even if there is no gains, at least i can utillize them later down the track. i did used to have the GT2530, but i've got the GT2540 now - 241rwkw feels nice.
  17. thats what i thought, felt like i was going to break it though - think i'll have another crack at looking for the screw maybe or twisting it 1/4 turn thanks for the help
  18. i have a RB24 with hks gt2540 and im looking into cams for it. so rb20 cam info is what im looking for. from what i understand ive heard a lot of ppl using the tomei poncams in/ex 256 with 8.5 lift. these are stage 1 i believe. what are the differences if i was to go stage 2? guessing the valve springs would need to be changed also. guessing that cam gears dont have to stay same brand as shafts also??? what are the gains to be made and price/availability on everything. BIG thanks matt
  19. no s2 owners done this before?
  20. what spec cams are people running i see a lot of poncams being used 256, 8.5? with tomei cam gears?? anyone used the HKS stuff or anything else?
  21. i couldn't see anything, might have to try again another day :S any s2 owners have a clue?
