i dont have one on mine either... but just posting up how it does make a huge difference, in certain cases
-
it is actually useful mine doesnt have one. but it makes sure that air doesnt go underneath the radiator etc, and that it DOES go through it like its supposed to. when changing aero / adding parts etc the air simply doesnt go straight through the rad, rather it goes everywhere or completely misses (goes underneath or around) the rad in some cases. best bet drill some holes in it, and cable tie it up again - you dont notice it and cant see how raggy it is, but more likely than not it is keeping your car a little cooler.

bah always 1 behind me hehe

well sorta thinking this... can it make that much of a difference, i have noticed a LOT more flutter with the new pod, and can hear the air sucking in. also was thinking that it may get more fuel if old fuel filter was blocked...

Photoshoot, Skylines Only (stageas Welcome)
huddy replied to (OO Black 33 OO)'s topic in South Australia
will try get there in the 99 rs4 stagea if its all good... what about cefiro? not keen? -
well pulled loom out - rewired resistor pack so can move to better location... and guess what - a fair bit of green goo, especially on #2! assuming RP7 will do the same as CRC? thanks -Matt
-
no worries thanks again will try get there after SCS this sunday... and also the 9th i've got a comp at mallala... :S busy busy... xmas cruise sounds good!
-
timing has not been touched, and i dont have a hand controller, so they cant even try to blame me for screwing around with it hehe...
-
yeah i will simply get a tune for max boost, which will be free of charge as long as nothing else is wrong... i am running a walbro intank pump, never had a problem with it before and it has easily made almost 240rwkw in the same car. running a stock FPR so i'm guessing the ebc is simply bringing the whole curve over (so more boost earlier than it was before) and now where there used to be fuel there isnt, because the curve has moved over from ebc. ? as for misfire - i found lots of green goopy shit on a couple inj plugs so clean them up or possibly replace. thanks

Hi there welcome. there are quite a few aus cefiro's. which vary from turbo to N/A from the rb20 to rb25 to rb24 to rb26 and not sure if rb30/26or25 there's quite a bit of information through the pages so have fun, if you cant find info you are after, post up exactly what you would like to know thanks -Huddy

haha definitely!!! thanks again for the generosity guys, appreciate it. good to meet you both, and looks like we might meet up this saturday on a cruise/shoot or something (have to check SA section i think) look forward to catching up again thanks again brendon and steve

hi there had a tune on the car not too long ago - only been out to the track once with it as it was... basically had powerfc / z32 / gtr inj / hks 2530 / rb24... results were 220 @ 1bar as i didnt have a boost controller and thats what the actuator was set at... ok so last friday i get it back to the dyno with a gizzmo ibc fitted, i was told all i would need is a power run just to make sure once i have it fitted, just get the a/f ratios checked with the extra boost. fair enough originally the tune was air fuel ratios 12 - 13's so fairly good. Now with any sorta boost at all above 1 bar or at 1bar, its running 14's in the fuel ratio's... only things changed were - adding of the IBC - change of fuel filter (ryco z200) / oil filter (K&N) / air filter (K&N) / oil (motul 300v 10w40). has anybody had any similar problems like this? i also have an inconsistant misfiring problem, which may be injector plug as its only number 2 cylinder cutting spark. i will be pulling the loom out to check for green goop and clean everything up appropriately. check the link for no spark issue -> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=141348 thanks -Matt

thats what i'm thinking... i'm thinking it may be a failsafe - if an inj plug on #2 isnt connected properly and not pumping in fuel, then maybe its doing a sorta limp mode and cutting spark aswell... but will know when i take loom out and clean all connections! thanks for all the help, much appreciated, will post results once i've cleaned

hmm sounds like an auto electrician jobby... or just dont use the auto headlights... not sure if it has come up previously in this section. maybe try another section aswell.

workshop x only do front and sides dont they? i do like the WSX bar though!!!
-
ahhhh yep thats what i thought the crc was... so loom out again completely - re-solder resistor pack to new location, clean all terminals as best possible and re-try...
-
ok CRC being? it was also brought to my attention that it may have something to do with injector plug connections? and they suggested green shit on plugs... but then all i would think it is not pumping fuel in, but should still be sparking? looks like loom out again completely - re-solder resistor pack to new location, clean all terminals as best possible and re-try... ahhhhhh :S oh and once fitted gizzmo ibc - car now runs way too lean so need re-tune again :S fun day for me!
-
well igniter pack made no difference, still the same swapped plugs around, still the same swapped coilpacks from 1-2 and 2-1, still the same (#2 being the problem) earth is good (unless at the back of the plug for coilpack) the middle wire had power (tested with test light). And i wasnt sure what the other wire was for (power / earth etc). this was while the car was running. pulled the loom for coilpacks out and stripped wiring to check for broken wires. couldnt see any so i just sanded the earth and re-fitted - started perfect and ran smooth. .... few days later - took to the dyno today... and off the dyno and misfire again :S any more ideas? thanks -Matt
-
isolate which cylinder is the problem if possible, then check plugs/gapping swap with another coilpack to see if its the coilpack and if it has an ignitor pack check that wiring and earth as last resort

hi there, I'm looking at a very nice stagea to buy very soon, i'm convinced, but the missus' is only 90% convinced hehe... (which means nothing) but to keep her happy, i was wondering if there are any SA Stagea owners that would be willing to let us have a look at their pride and joy and maybe take us for a quick lap around the block? If something this sunday (12th / nov ) could be arranged that would be awesome Thanks guys hopefully can work something out -Matt
