Speedo - what's after 180Kmh
Fly_With_Sky replied to dd4321's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
always me, did you get up on the wrong side of the bed or something? ppl who say they did 190 on a private rd might have actually done so. Neither you or i can prove otherwise, so why call them a liar and go completely off topic when all you can do is assume? nmcmahon83: i also get danger to manifold, but i tell my laptop to shut up and close it... -
i like this thread, good read, but too many damn physics equations, thought i saw the last of them in yr12... anyway, i cant see a gtst beating the ls2's, unless its got at least 200rwkw, good tyres so it grips well at launch, so here it has a chance of getting even. A decent suspension set up obviously will make things a lot quicker. For example back on serious performance 5 i think it was a r33 running a bigger turbo at 18psi got 0-100 in around 5.6sec, whilst a r33 running only 12psi with good aftermarket suspension ran practically identical times 0-100. Maybe 0.05sec slower. as for gtr's, i think against stock ones, if there are any around, it would be even, with the gtr just nipping in front after 400m. After that its who has the bigger pocket for mods, you or him. AND, obviously, who can drive better. It would be interesting to see how you would go against a modded gtst or s gtr. So it would be great to organise some guys in melb with skylines to go do some runs down the 1/4mile track, in order to see the results and to answer your initial questions Also, what would be interesting is to see the 2007 GTR against a 2007 model HSV. See how the best in japan go against the best in aus. although, out the the big two here, im a ford fan so maybe second best in aus

yes it does get a bit boring when you go year after year as a lot of the cars are actually the same... But the bulldogs are playing the sea eagles next door (assuming autosalon still at the olympic site) at 5:30. So after i try to lend support to my team so they can get back in the eight, i might pop in for a hour or two.

Apparently it happened somewhere around the exit/entry ramp to the F6 freeway around Burger King near Figtree/West Wollongong...or so i was told by the people who informed me about the accident. I have not heard any more about it however excpet that i the driver has possibly broken their back. TopKart R33, his age is about 23-24, so i guess he wasnt a p-plater.
-
hey guys i heard tonight that on saturday night a guy from wollongong crashed his r33 skyline (practicially tearing it in half) and badly injuring himself in the process. I am unsure of the passenger's condition One thing here is for certain, and that is speed. It appears from what i was told that he must have been going extremely fast to basically tear the car apart (i was told "the front of the car was now in the back of the car"). More sad news for us skyline, and high performance car, drivers will no doubt result again. The driver was in his early 20's. I have heard small things from people about it, but am curious if anyone else knows more as i did not know the driver, but do know it was a sky blue coloured r33 gts25t...

If you actually watch ACA on a regular basis you will notice that the large majority of their stories are really small stories that they sensationalise into "big" stories. Watch tomorrow and you will see they will do some story that you usually wouldnt look twice at, but they will try and make it as if it is vital to Australia's well being. For example by showing that absolute IDIOT who was trying to pick a fight with the cop, they are sensationalising that since this guy does it then all car enthausiasts are like that. I woudn't look into it too much as things wont really change. For example, highway patrol still wont like you, the old lady across the road may still think you car is way too loud etc As long as you obey the law you will be fine, regardless of your car.

Hahaha, i hope this offends nobody on here, but she does have a bit of a point... but anyway seems like a big turnout will happen. Should be a good event, expecially if its a cracker of a day (weather wise)

so anyhting over 7-8psi and you had fuel cut 25t_sedan? Is it auto or manual? If so, im am in the same position now as anything over 8psi and i got fuel cut. So, your tuner couldnt get the safc to help with the fuel cut at 9psi by bending the afm voltage... how much did the hks fcd cost as when i get my safc installed if it experiences fuel cut still at my max boost of 10psi then i will be getting the hks fcd as well...thanks
-
hey guys, i just want to verify that an apexi safc II will elimante factory fuel cut yes? Im almost certain that it will as it basically does the same thing as an fuel cut defender it tricks the ecu into thinking there isnt as much air flow etc, but just making 100% sure.

these screamer sirens are a good idea, especailly if you mount them inside where nobody can reach withouth having their head blown off by excessive sound waves...

Daily Driver - when to stop modifying?
Fly_With_Sky replied to ookami's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
when to stop modifying??? the answer is probably never as for some reason we all go and change one more thing, and then another a little later after we say thats it for now..... But to answer your question, i wouldn't go any further than Amaru if you'd like it to be a daily driver. The r34 N1 turbo's would be great for a regularly street driven GTR since they come on boost just like std turbo's pretty much but are better and are capable of getting to 300kw at the wheels before running out of their efficiency range. Personally, i dont think anyone considering a daily driver street car should go over that mark as practicality would go right out the window... -
Old R33 Compared To New R33......
Fly_With_Sky replied to Unscarred711's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
im going #1 here (minus gtr badges) as it has less horsepower due to less stickers -
if the box is dead i guess just go out and get another one as they are fairly cheap. It's not like breaking a 5 speed (or getrag thank god)

brand new fuel cut defender for sale
Fly_With_Sky replied to shoeman's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
hey, i was just wondering how much do these things go for new and are they any good? Im curious as to whether i should get something cheaper or go and get some hks fcd... -
cheers mate, its an r33

i wish it was attached to the window but its attached to the roof remember...and thats where it is loose as i think a screw has gone missing as the right side of where its attached is secure but the left hand side is moving. The only way i can see that you can get to it is if you start taking off the roof carpet so you can access it (or i suppose you could jsut tear the mirror off but i dont think il do that). I'll go have another fiddle with it now. Cheers guys.

R34 GTST TipTronic Questions
Fly_With_Sky replied to martied's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
if you get an auto i think it should be fine unless you start to run more power than abo bob does. Below that power level it should be fine with the standard oil cooler. If you want to make sure then get a bigger oil cooler in order to make sure the auto box doesnt get too hot as thats what kills them. -
my rear view mirror has come loose from the constant bumps of the crappy roads i suppose (along with lowered springs = bumpy) it wasnt that bad but was slightly annoying as each time i went over a violent bump (such as going over where a bridge join in the road is if you get what i mean) its moves a little and i have to adjust. Now, i was trying to take it off and whilst moving around a bit it didnt want to come off. Now my question may sound extremely dumb as taking off a mirror sounds simple, but how exactly do you take it off?? At the moment i jsut cant see how...

i never mentioned that he should be politically correct. Actually, we did exactly what you believe we should do, and that is, he said what he felt and i objected by saying what i felt. There was no dancing... Its just my opinion that he was in the wrong by generalising. Fair enough that the majority of people in parra may come from ethnic backgrounds, but, that doesnt rule out the possibility that an aussie or english back packer could have stolen the car. I FEEL that it would have been better suited to say beat up the lil shi*ts, not beat up the lil wogs. Unfortunately there are di^kheads in every nationallity, and we feel some are worse than others based on our beliefs. but anyway this was all said and done days ago and the matter was over then i thought as he had his say and i had mine, and that was that, on we go with life. So, back to the topic of the thread, have you had any luck with the car?
-
ok i see bizzrevhead, parramatta is its own soverign nation with absolutely no 'australians' (i was under the impression that we are all australian hence the point of living here).
-
im with silver, how do u know they were 'Wogs'?? Did the guys in the red corolla have a sticker saying i was born in southeastern europe (around mediterranean) and middle east??

15.2 down the quarter last nite in an auto!
Fly_With_Sky replied to bazr33's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
well done but im sure you would like to do better. Do you only have a dump pipe with the rest of the exhaust stock?? If this is the case then that will be a big restriction. Also did you launch the car just by planting down the foot in 'D' or did you stall it up as far as it can go then taking off right when boost comes on?? -
yes it will be capable. but why wait, its being done now.
