but what if you bust a tyre and nobody is home to bring you the spares, and cant get it towed for hours?
-
i just hope it looks the goods, becuase i know it will be a safe bet that everything else to do with the car will be better than the goods
-
lovely curve you have there, all i can really suggest is a dump pipe for sure and i suppose why not get the exhaust cam gear as well becuase for the relatively low price, results such as what benm got from it are possible. after that, make sure you pay off the credit card first becuase mods after that stage make the credit card go into hurt town a lot faster...haha...good luck with the quest for 200rwkw

ok, was this tommy makkinen edition evo 6 a limited edition by any chance because i think it would have been because the evo 6 was about 75-80k i remember that one. Your mates car proabably got given a few more features and would have higher resale value now. For example look at the wrp10 wrx now for sale. It celebrating 10 yrs of the rex and is limited edition, has a couple extra features and tweaks hence is priced 8-9K more than the normal wrx.

great pics benm

when i fitted my full system it did wonders...boost came on harder, had way better flow so better mid range and top end, and it also drove better off boost i thought. So i find it very interesting that you think its worse becuase it is supposed to do wonders on your car expecially when looking at how restrictive the stock exhuast was.

R33 Gtst Auto Is It A Strong Box ?
Fly_With_Sky replied to MACHINE!'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i believe at that power level you will need to do some minor changes such as a larger and improved trans cooler, and, change the valvebody and i would think that would be able to cope nicely. Not that expensive at all either when you compare this to upgraded clutches for manuals. There is a group buy for this in the group buy of the for sale section. The thread would be worth a read. -
n/a supra's are still fairly quick, good old supra engines, but yes if you want somehting newer maybe a gtt is the way to go as many supra's are now getting a bit long in the tooth. TT supra shouldnt be left out of consideration so test drive all three vehicles i say and get what you like best along with what suits you better...

i couldnt give a damn if anyone thought they sound wimpy because i know it aint wimpy. Unbelievably awesome grip and when it begins to come on boost its like being shot out of a gun. By the way how do you mean wimpy, when off boost? coming onto boost? at full boost? because they evo's sound great especially on the last two things Oh and JXL i dont think any of the evo's were ever over 90K, weren't they around 75-80K before the price was dropped in order to say look out sti.

Replacing head lights / head light covers.
Fly_With_Sky replied to P1E's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeh i would think you would have to get a complete headlight as the whole thing is connected (cant take off the plastic cover to clean the inside). Wreckers should have them so just get one that looks just about the same i suppose unless you want to fork out the smackaroo's for one from nissan. some people sell lights in the for sale section from time to time, might be worth a look. As for polishing, it will make the dirtier light better but you would still be able to tell that the newer one is better still. -
its only mildy detuned for our under 100RON fuel, but still is very, very quick. i'd spend the extra 5K on an evo over the sti, but thats just me as i have always had a soft spot for the evo's. i dont like the the indicator and wipers on opposite sides but hey i'll get used to it if i needed too.

yeah, really, jeez lets organise a group buy so we can all drop one in our engine bay. It would make daily driving a breeze. i thought the reason you started this thread was to stop baggin hsv's
-
thats some good increases you got there benm from the exhuast gear and coil packs. Looks like these may be the next 2 mods i will have to do when the modding bug bites again as they seem very good value for money. Jsut curious however, when sydney kid claims he has never seen any less than 15rwkw gain (which is very impressive considering the small cost) is that with any aftermarket management?
-
have a look in the other thread where you posted the same thing basically. Not all people on here think hsv's are slow ok. Many think they are good but like skylines better. So, dont go out and generalise that we are ALL narrow minded, because if you think that then it is you sir who are narrow minded...
-
who said it was just skylines that cause trouble :)
Fly_With_Sky replied to predator's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mate, when the hell did i say hsv's are slow. So maybe you should direct your comments at those who said they were, not generalise. If you cant then go back to you holden forums if you are such a huge fan. -

Is the LS6 a 7L v8, sorry but i dont really follow the corvettes or performance cars in usa. How much worse will the fuel economy be i wonder considering in the motor magazine they claim the hsv r8 with the ls2 6L to suck down 29.5L/100km. Im sorry but i dont think i would be able to live with that sort of fuel economy, too much money wasted on petrol. -
i agree with you Abo Bob about the 0-10, 10-20, 20-30 speeds. This is because i just cant agree with the fact that if i were caught doing 84km/h in an 80 zone i would get 3 points taken off my licence, and, someone caught for 94km/h would also get the same fine and only 3 points as well. There is a big difference between 84 and 94. 84km/h can happen accidently if you dont keep looking at you speedo, but 94km/h is just plain speeding (in an 80 zone).

10mm? i thought i read on the rta website that you cant go anymore than 1 inch bigger, whether it be width, diameter...but i could be wrong.
-

Late night cruise sessions - Friday Feb 11th - Pizza and coffee
Fly_With_Sky replied to Blitz's topic in Events Archive
yeah if you guys do another cruise i will have to make sure i am not busy as it will be good to put a face to the name... and it will be good to go a on a little cruise with you's as i havent been on one yet...something always seems to come up and stop me from attending -
i doubt the p-plates would have much to do with it, i would have thought the imported skyline models would be enough for the police to pull over and check when defect stations are around but considering all the recent events involving p-platers and all related stories i suppose you could be right
-
damn, 70km/h, i hope your not too banged up because the car would be a mess after being hit at that speed, bad luck man... my mum got hit today by a garbage truck not looking where its going (only at very low speeds) and it left enough damage to the side of her car, so i can only begin to imagine sights of cars hit by others going 60km/h plus, i feel for you... good luck with repairs
-
do what will make you proud of your decision wilch, if your sick of your old wheels, get them changed. The wheels you suggest look a lot better then you current wheels, however, id like them more if they were silver (shadow chrome or whatever the hell you call it), but thats just me ive always been a fan of the drift r's, seen them on a r33 the other day and looked nice, but look even better on a r34 IMHO, so maybe thats why you got bored of them blitz?

0-100 times R33 vs Ford typhoon and V8s etc
Fly_With_Sky replied to benl1981's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
when i sit here and read this people in r33, 32, silvia's and other older (well they are now) cars its a wonder that they can keep up and even come out on top considering the commo's everybody here refers to are the newer ss models and clubbies...and each newer models is always faster and more powerful just reinforces the fact that the japanese sure knew how to make a car so it is still up with the 'best' now
