  1. Not all stock systems are Double Din, mine is only one slot (S1). Sounds pretty sh*thouse but. Speakers crackle at the slightest bass... I am used to a decent stereo though, so i can't really judge it. To get >90Mhz you have to get a frequency modulator as said.... Try Jaycar, but they are $40+ so i'm just going to save for a new head unit.
  2. Most of the Holden teams are happy enough to run the ford Double Wishbone suspension as it gives them more tunability than the holden single wishbone. It's not designed to make anyone slower or faster, just to even things up... Basically they are just falcadore shells with pure race machinery underneath anyway. Some people are comparing bananas with apples here... Some people are talking about Nations cup, others GTP and some are getting that confused with V8SC. They are 3 different formulas, GTP being the closet to road going formula, Nations cup full of exotic supercars, and V8 supercar a pure racing category. Most of the japanese sports cars run in GTP class A, STi, Evo, etc... S15 runs class B i think with the 350Z (not 100% though) so yea...
  3. hey guys, my battery died (think it was still the original) and I'm wondering is there really a difference in batteries?? Besides stereo applications, will getting a crap one do any harm?? Cheers.
  4. Nissan's and Honda's are very well engineered cars. If you put time and effort into these cars, drive them with respect, they will last you a very long time. If you are unsure of a car, don't buy it... But you shouldn't have a problem finding a low km, mid 90's R33 GTS-t that is well maintained and looked after (most japanese are pidantic(sp) about there cars... after all, who is going to buy a Skyline and not look after it???) My $0.02
  5. Paladin: While this is true for the majority, there is an equal amount of very coordinated girls to the same amount of uncoordinated guys everything balances out in the end and I wish I had a girl in a hot car!
  6. To the aircondensor theory.... I may be wrong, but doesnt that take a lot of power to run. The difference between a car and a computer is that computer cooling doesn't run by taking power away from the computer. Where are you going to get the power to drive all those compressors etc?? with a computer, you have an endless supply of electricity... A car can only produce so much power (unless you have a giant aerial from the roof of your car connected to the power lines above similar to a dodgem car my 2c.
  7. I know it hasn't been adhered to, but they still put 206kW on the 'official' power output, same as the 350Z.
  8. To add: I don't think the S14 is an australian made car... It is a silvia at heart, rebadged 200sx, and in Japan came in 3 variations J's Q's and K's just like the S13. Australia had 3 models also, however unlike the JDM, all ours were turbo. Base model was Limited, Sports model had a few things like A/C and a rear spoiler, and the Luxury model came with a sunroof etc.
  9. Flaps, not sure where you got that info from, but if it is correct, that did suprise me, got any links to back it up??? This may also suprise a few people.. Insurance on a R32 GTS-t about $2400 at 30% NCB through Justcar. Insurance on S14 200sx ~$4000 at 30% NCB through Justcar. I can't explain it, but going by that, your theory on insurance goes out the window Considering the S14 costs ~$18k and the R32 ~$14k i know which one I would want... but the S14 is dead sexy and the SR20DET is a grat engine too. In the end, it's personal choice.
  10. You MUST remember there is a silent code among Japanese Auto Manufacturers that no car shall be built with more than 206 kW or 276HP... This isn't to say they don't have more, but 'officially' they only have 206kW. Of course the GTR has more than 206kW, even the R34 GT-T has more than 206 kW. The MkIV TT Supra apparently has 206kW... It's just a gentlemans agreement in Japan. Secondly, these ratings are Jap spec... Remember they have 101 ron petrol or whatever, and we only have 98, theres another 10% or so... Hope this is some assistance.
  11. Haha, well simply yes. I have 1 point on my license until mid-May... do you blame me Although accidently got a little sideways leaving uni today, whoops  But alot of my driving is highway aswell, im upto 500km this tank and counting (got about an 8th left)
  12. My R33 GTS-t gets around 450-500 km off 50L (that's all i can get in the sucker, unless the fuel light comes on with 15L to spare ) So that aint too bad, depends how u drive it and where. This is coming from 750km off 55L so there is a substantial difference, but the fun is worth the extra
  13. Maybe he got short changed 2 cylinders¿
  14. Can we see some of the front??? Isn't that the whole point of Xenons is that they look cool from the front??
  15. They're all plastic, i don't thiknk anyone would make headlights out of glass since they are a first point of contact with any foreign object that gets throw off the road... sI have black plastic on the inside, sII use chrome plastic, so they look 'clear'... anyway...
  16. I am, once i pay off my credit card/insurance & rego hehehe, but definately mods on the way. Looking for a final goal of around 250rwkw over 2-3years with some eye candy as well.
  17. Lol, thanks for that... I won't need the Accord keys soon so yea. But thanks for that. edit: Actually, there arent that many keys on it, just alot of rings and a bottle opener. So i might just take a few rings out etc.
  18. Hey guys, got my car 2 weeks ago, and finally have some pics... Things to note are the NISMO front grill and the half-bar on the front (i have seen a few of these so i'm thinking they may have been an option from the factory??) Hop you guys enjoy the pics. BTW That was my white Accord VTi behind it in the side shot. Incase anyone was curious. Cheers.
  19. 1. Couldnt tell you, but i'd expect to pay up around the mid $30k-$40k for a nice R34 GT-T (although I could be way off as I'm not rich enough to buy one yet) 2. I would suggest the Skyline is a very different car to drive, being a turbo (more viscious power as u'd probably be aware) and somewhat 200-300kg lighter than a VX commmie (perhaps more!!). 3. It is possible to get the front bar, skirts, rear bar, spoiler etc... but it is more difficult to get the wider guards that the GT-R has. (Not 100% bout R34, but R33 and R32 definately have the wider guards, hence why there is something bout their looks compared to the GT(s)-T. Hope this helps to some degree.
  20. Hi all, Just got my 'line in my garage after 4 long weeks waiting fro compliance, and well, i can't seem to find the tool kit which has the jack handle, wheel brace etc... Where did you guys find your one, there is a good chance I have missed out So if i have, anyone know where I could pick one up?? Cheers. :boobies2: :boobies2:
  21. I havent found a car yet that has a front hand-brake... as it wouldn't self tension at the front (as I understand it)... or something like that.
  22. No Offense, but it looks like you have stated more difference than similarities in your post
  23. Thanks for the compliments on the car Talej, sure it's old and stuff, but it was a nice change for the day if you ask me something different. The dyno brake wasn't working properly as I understand, so they had a bit of trouble getting the high powered cars off it after their runs. All in all it was a pretty cool day. By the way it was FLYBYE the R32 GTR... looked pretty nice too.
  24. well maybe not even a GTI-R could even be a new model pulsar hatch... anyway, it looks odd.
  25. To me, from that pic it kinda looks like a pulsar GTI-R has been cut with an R33... just from the rear, and the read guards etc...
