  1. Can't beat the V8 rumble. I much prefer it to a spooling turbo. Also can't help to think you could shift quicker between 1st to 2nd??
  2. I like it. I hate the JZA80 front end.
  3. Hey Dean. Myself and NYL83R (Chris) are planning on driving down to Autosalon together on Saturday. All are welcome.
  4. Another arguement is that in a way it is good that people are bringing in R32 GTR's to make a profit on. That way, you can actually have a look at the car, kick the tyres, look at every aspect of the car. Digital photos and auction reports can hide a nasty past. I think that paying a higher purchase price for a better car here in Australia is good, rather than buying a tired version sight unseen from Japan. I keep contemplating trading up to a R32 GTR, via importing it myself, aiming for $20k on the road, but am worried about the running costs, and also the possibility of having huge repair bills when it arrives due to it being knackered.
  5. A friend of mine got stung by Vodafone on the capped plan. Changed from a regular plan to $79 capped half way through the month and was told that the cap would come into effect straight away. At the end of the month, after ringing everyone including Uncle Boris who molested him, he received a $690 bill. Rang them up, they said it was their fault because it wasn't entered into the system properly, but wouldn't accept resonsibility. He ended up footing the bill.
  6. Due to being dicked around, these are back up for sale again - offers over $1000 taken. These units have been fully reconditioned.
  7. I think he means a hammer and a screw driver, as in two different tools. You can adjust it that way, but be careful as most of the metal collars on coilovers are alloy and chip/bend easily.
  8. SR20DET or CA18DET?
  9. R33 GTR near Parklea with R34 rims and GTR - 034 number plates
  10. Haha yeah, it could be an awesome car, but I have always liked cars which have subtle modifications and are kept simple, not molested such as that GTR. I would hate to see the interior of the other "40" GTR's his mate imported.
  11. Jump under the car and have a look if there is a speedo cable running from the rear of the gearbox on the speedo drive to the top of the fire wall near the brake/clutch master cylinders. Maybe the speedo gear drive on the sensor shat itself?? Don't think a RB25 box would be bolted up to your RB20DET, but could be possible. You could also try taking the speedo cluster out and make sure the cable is firmly in place against the rear of the cluster.
  12. It looks like it has Rear GTR badges on the front guards??
  13. No chance of this working as there are too many consumers for this to work.
  14. Open your eyes and do some investigating yourself! First you have to decide on which engine: 1. RB30ET 2. RB20DET 3. RB25DET 4. RB26DETT
  15. Very nice choice - your right, they suit the car well. Not too ricey and not too plain, just right! Need to drop that she-bitch now.
  16. I tried but someone beat me to it by a few minutes. You will just have to take a heaps of photos for me. Got any pics of your car with the new rims?
  17. And so are The Days Of Our Lives
  18. I just changed plans for a motorbike course from 1st of May to 15th of May because of a pub crawl on the Saturday night. Guess I miss out again!
  19. THE SHOCK ABSORBER RECONDITIONERS - Unit 1/ 18 Aranda St Slacks Creek 4127 - (07) 3808 2455. Just got a set of suspension done there recently. $137.50 per strut for regas, reoil and checkover. They are still open and the new owner's name is Mohammed.
  20. $3000 is a very reasonable price. Don't like your chances of finding them elsewhere at a bragain price.
  21. I've seen this work quite well on a 1GGTE powered Soarer. Along with a Hybrid copy FMIC, it bought the engine temps down drastically, and made the car run like it would on a cold night 24/7. Was easy to do and I think the whole job cost $450 including the purchase of the intercooler. So it is doable, doesn't look the best, but in my opinion is a good starting point for someone who is doing their first FMIC pipe work job. Once all the PVC pipe is 100% spot on, it can then be made in stainless steel, saving yourself money on wasted metal bends and pipe.
  22. Don't know what happened to Ben as I've come in too late, but last nite I was pulled over for a random breath test 5 doors up from my house as I was on my way home at 1am. He was travelling in the opposite direction, turned around and pulled me up. I was polite, yet nervous. Asked if I had anything to drink (2 beers with dinner), asked for licence, did breath test, check P plates, checked tyre tread, looked at exhaust, looked at yellow headlight globes and checked rego label. Asked about car in general, I just replied it came from Japan that way, and he said have a good morning. Only doing his job, and makes me feel safer knowing that he is patrolling the area.
  23. What lower control arms are you running?? Do the hubs have ABS sensors built in? Is there a possibility that the hubs are S13 with S14/S15 inserts?
  24. No matter how wide the body kit goes or how wide you flare the guards, I don't think those rims will ever suit that car.
  25. More than likely speedo gear in rear of gearbox.
