OK, there is alot of speculation on this board as i noticed. I just had this issue today, in my Mspec, it has powersteering, so it was heavy as f**k. well turned out that not only did anyone on the forum have an answer, or the mechanics i rang, but my mate, told me about diagnostics mode. did u just start the car and it stayed on?, or did u turn the steering wheel 90 left then 90 right? u may find that u have activated Hicas diagnostic mode, to deactivate this. simply disconnect battery for a few mins or so, then reconnect firmly. start ur car. and it should be back off. give it a go. Ps. I imagine to all u that bought new batterys/ alternators in previous threads. u mustr feel silly :"P .. good. u almost made me make same mistake!. jlol have fun. cheers.

I have the same problem in mine and most of the r33 I've seen in wrecking yards seem to have the same problem. I've opened it up and it's not a spring it's a piece of plastic that holds it and like all old pieces of plastic they're bound to break. rang a round a few places got quoted $75 for the console from 1 place and $150 from another for 1 little piece of plastic. If anyone can find something cheaper Give us a buzz
