Hey guys, just finished my r31 rb20det conversion. 90% complete just needs the rear bar replaced and the bonnet dropped down bout 2cm. besides that its all done. finished the fmic yesterday took 14 hours to mount and pipe it. good thing bout it all, the whole job fmic conversion and all was done in the back yard, so here some pics, tell me what you think, honesty appreciated The Front mount and all piping came from The Intercooler Guy, and its bloody good, its a r32 fmic kit and it fit straight onto my r31 with almost no mods at all, so if there is any r31 guys out there, check him out hes been the best bloke by far for this stuff. by the time the air gets thru the cooler its bloody cold. made my car run sweet

hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone has this same issue. usually for the first 15 mins of driving the car kinda feel a little slugish but when accelerating and the car gets to 3 psi it feels like a sudden hit of power. like someone has had the handbrake on an d just released it... seems like maybe a cylinder is kicking in but it idles and runs fine so i dont think the cylinder is having any issues, just feels that way????

hey guys my diff is on its way out on my 89 r31 silh,,, its got a rb20det in it,, whats a good replacement diff?? nothing performance just a good working lsd diff and how much???

nope she fits dead sweet with about 20 mm each side, had to take off the fan from the compressor though its like it was made for it, but i did get a r32kit so piping will need some modifications to fit perfect

yeah its too big for this turbo but im thinking of upgrading to a 25det turbo and high flowing it or its 600 x 300 x76 core 800x 300 x 76 end to end runnnign 12psi with it on

excellent great to get some feedback, should have my fmic by the end of this week, then boostin away till my hearts content, runs bloody good as is though, but feels like someones got there foot gently on the brake till 3 psi then there is a sudden power gain,,, and no its not just the boost gain, fells like an extra piston kickin in but its runnign smooth as??

yep direct from turbo to intake, its like accellerates before i put my foot down cause its that quick lol j/k but its almost instant power and spool just makes the engine run between 1/2 and 3/4 when boosting up hills and stuff, more boost higher the needle, hopefully my 800x300x76 fmic will help bring the internal temp down and icrease some hp

dont have adjustable boost. but what if i just dont boost over say 5 till i get the fmic on?

ok so im running my rb20det with no cooler at the moment just direct piped. is this bad?? how much power will i be loosing??? 11psi

hmmm, not sure i think the rb20det one is cable driven but i dont think it is compatible with the r31 thats why i swapped it, did it all ourselves, heard of ppl just swapping them out before

hey guys, just finished my conversion, only problem, cant get a speed reading?? its wired up and i took the speed sensor out of the rb30 gear box and screwed in onto the rb20det one?? how come i aint getting sensed???? p.s( i think there is also a loose bolt or nut in my clutch area somewhere grinding around HRMMMM!! DOH)

THEY ALL LOOK GOOD, COULD THE TURBO BE STUFFED FROM OVERHEATING?? IF IT WOULD OVERHEAT DRIVEN SO GENTLY?? correction!!!!!! THE CAR IS PRODUCING BOOST OK, JUST TOOK IT FOR A RUN, BUT IF IM IN NUETRAL WHEN I REV IT IT WONT BOOST, AND I AM REVVING IT TO LIK 4 GRAND, FOOT DOWN 3/4 OF THE WAY BUT WONT GO PAST 0 PSI???, ONLY WHEN IM DRIVING???

hey guys, finnaly after over a month got my r31 with the rb20det conversion done, got fmic ready but not on the car yet so its just piped direct from turbo to engine. i know it not good to run it this way but its temporary till i get my next day off. its been running fine, crept it home and to work hitting at most 1-3 psi most of the time spent in vaccum. then just as i got home, noticed it stopped producing boost, boosts up to 0 psi???? andy suggestions?? could i have fryed my turbo or should it be ok with no intercoooler driven gently???

just bougth a 300 x 600 x 76 from the intercoolguy and they have pressure drop of only .2 psi (yes that is POINT 2) and the whole thing end to end is 800 x 600 x 76 he makes good stuff

Mate get it from the intercooler guy, he makes up the best looking best performing kits around for good $$ i just got mine yesterday and its the best ive seen, he is the most helpfun bloke i have met in the industry and will help you out with anything. 10 out of 10 for him, rollin is a bit overpriced but i got my rb20det half cut from them for ok price $2200

guys need a auto elec to wire up my r31 thats got a rb20det and gearbox dropped in, engine has loom on it. can anyone suggest anyone on gold coast i can have it towed but would prefer call out auto elec??? any ideas and how much?? thanks guys

my mates just completed a rb25det conversion into his r31. the car doesnt have speedo wired in yet but it cuts out at around 60km/hr every time, goes dead, need to stop then turn car on again, anyone know what it may be?? wiring??

I just got autobahn to order me a autometer ultra lite 2 5/8 boost guage in took 2 days, but retail for 179 bit of a rip, less ya know someone they are all over the coast

how many litres of oil do i need to put in my rb20???

HEy guys got my rb20 dropped into my r31 but need a diagram to wire all the wires from the r31 into the rb20 ecu. anyone know where i can find these??? or be sent to my email at [email protected] Thanks heaps guys
