  1. here is the sheet, let me know what you think.
  2. 3071 coming on earier, Ha ha.. Dog. And didn't run out of puff till 8500rpm. Not much good. So yep mean 28rs. By the way exhaust housing has to be .64. .86 was laggy and yuk - even though it was advised to get .86 - definatly no good for rb20, must be .64. Anyone wanting some great honest help should see Wayne at GT Auto in croydon - helped me with everything and he was great.
  3. I am going to stick with 16psi for now - just been stuffing around with it all for the past 3 months so want to keep it safe, very safe for the track. Asked tuner (Ben) if it has any legs left - his response, "somewhere between another 5-10%" So yes can't wait for 20 odd psi when I could handle the risk of it being off the road again. Dont have a camera at the moment to post up graph, but will ASAP. Troy - I compared to yours when I had the 3071 couple of months ago, it is very similar to yours in mid range, comes on a little earier, and of course runs out earier. Cheers Cam
  4. After lots of fiddling and changing turbos have a tuned result for 28rs on rb20. 219.? on 16 psi. So seems almost identical to 2530 FYI. Will have dyno chart up soon. Full boost is around 3700rpm Cheers
  5. I just took off 3071 internal gate turbo from my r32 gtst as it was shit... couldn't control boost kept going in excess of 22psi. Made good power up high 254 at 8250rpm. Dog under 4000rpm and only exciting from 5000rpm. External gate on rb25 would be ok, internal gate - forget it. Rb20 forget it.
  6. Thats what I thought. Response is just what you discribe, comes on really slow then bang you have all of it, which is getting annoying for wheel spin, and overtaking where you get the delay before taking off. What is that caused by. I have checked the obvious - leaks and actuator preload.
  7. Had some great help at GT Auto in croydon putting the turbo on. Needs adapters, new dump pipe, and new water and oil lines. Actuator also needs some fabrication. Wayne at GT is the guy you want. Anyone have even have an idea whether my results are on the right track??
  8. I have just put one of these (GT28RS) on rb20 and results are different then expected. Has anyone else have one on there rb20. I don't wont 2530 results even though should be similar. Without a specific tune, power feels good but seems to be laggier then expected with 1.1 bar by 4300rpm!? Any comparisions would be good. BTW Mods include: Power FC, AVCR, FMIC, GTR injectors, Z32, Pump, full exhaust, cold air intake and heat shield. Thanks
  9. not sure about speed, I just looked at boost and revs when driving. But yea comes on then lulls then comes on hard again. So yea not normal I wouldn't have thought either. Does it sound like actuator might need to be adjusted??
  10. Anyone here decreased the diameter of there intake pipes to increase spool time. As you all know I am getting 1 bar at about 4rpm and not gett max power until 8250rpm. @ 22psi If I decreased intake from 2 1/4 down to 2 inch would this help response and spool further AND choke the turbo earlier so peak can be made near 7500rpm not 8250rpm. Cheers
  11. I get a bar of boost by 4rpm, internally gated and on standard manifold. Bought it from horsepower in a box. Lot's of fiddling and adapting with flanges, lines and crap but seems a great option..
  12. Replied to all PM's
  13. 8250rpm holy crap was my first thought also.. Not going there very often but seems to happily scream all the way there. Rev limiter not sure about.. Running full titanium 3 1/4 inch from turbo with high flow cat. getting 1 bar at 4200 RPM so it's pretty good. If I could afford cams I prob would, but having fun trying not to skid in the dry at high RPM on 255's.
  14. As title states selling awsome condition r33 turbo. Was sold to me with 20k only and traveled 13K extra on my r32 running 10PSI. Shaft is perfect, everything is faultless. Suit fussy buyers who want something in good nic. Comes with oil, water lines, r32 actuator, and elbow to intercooler Melbourne buyers only so you can look and test it. Looking for $600.
  15. That dyno plot suggests to me that thing would be a great setup with a smaller exhaust housing. You are running a 0.87 , correct? Whats the next commonly available housing size down, is there a 0.73 etc. Someone told me the 3071 runs a pretty big turbine, so dont be too scared of going down a size in housings. Also what manifold are you running, and what sized gate? Running.64 housing. Turbo is low mount version, sitting on standard manifold. The gate is the crappy one with turbo. Cannot control the boost to be any lower then 22psi. (any suggestions) 3071 is a big turbine wheel - seems good so far other then boost issue. How does it compare to your graph Roy - as this turbo was a gamble against your great set up.
  16. Best I can do for now, Max power is at 8250RPM LOL. cheers..
  17. Wrapped thats for sure.. I only have paper copy of dyno sheet and don't have a scanner. Any help and I would be more then happy to put up. How do you guys normally post it as file?
  18. Hi Guys, Got my car back with results. GT3071 Apexi PFC Apexi FMIC full exhaust cold air intake and shield GTR injectors 040 fuel pump 254.6 RWKW on 22psi all on standard internals, so hoping it lasts a little while at least as it is heaps of fun..
  19. Result is in. 254.2rwkw. Very happy..
  20. These are the specs of the one I have. Looks great and is a heavy brute. I am just using adaptor flanges. This unit has a T25 type base flange and GT25 type rear flange for the exhaust. Features huge GT30 Turbine wheel, and a 71mm 56 trim comp wheel, a .50 comp cover with smooth machined 4" bellmouth inlet and or a 2.750" inlet. This unit has a .86 exhaust housing in the 450hp form . The comp wheel actually flows 44 LBs/Min and itself is rated near 450hp.
  21. I have 2001 GTR injectors ready to put into rb20. When buying the injectors I couldn't get resistor pack. Can I use Power FC to change impedance, or do I have to get resistor pack? Thanks
  22. Thanks for input everyone. I am chasing mid 200 rwkw. So have taken a punt with the 3071. Putting it on this weekend so will keep you updated. cheers
  23. Hi all, I have had mixed response on which turbo to get, details are as follows. Car is r32 sedan. I have good support mods - apexi PowerFC, apexi FMIC, fuel pump, GTR injectors, full exhaust, pod with cold air box and feed. I have not upgraded turbo on rb20 before only on rb25 and SR20. Ben (racepace) is tuning the car I am aiming for good street performance but occasional track day performance. I do drive the car 500-800km per week. Turbo options are all interally gated and low mount. Which one??? 1. GT2871 (390hp) 71mm comp wheel, 48 trim, .68/.86 housing. 2. Gt2871 (440hp) 71mm comp wheel, 56 trim, 68/.86 housing. 3. Gt3071 (450hp) GT30 turbine wheel, 71mm comp wheel, 56 trim, 68/.86 housing. Just want to keep rb20 and make it quick, responsive, and reliable. Cheers Cam
  24. Looking for new turbo, garrett reccommended 3040R with .63 housing. They said would not be laggy and being 600hp would make more then enough power. any thoughts and experience with this turbo? especially on rb20? it is ext gated! Due to it not being a straight bolt on is it going to cost heaps to have put on with new wastegate etc etc. Is that kind of set up "Cop bait"? thanks
