  1. There WAS a jack in the back of my car, but now my boot is stripped and everything is back in albury haha. Hookers will do anything, was only a few nights ago one of them "tuned" my "Power FC" with her mouth, great price too! Thanks for the help Fry, good to know the plastic is pretty soft, means i can get it all done myself, ill just have to find someone to help me put it on. Ive never taken the front bar off, ive heard its a bastard, but more so the problem is the no tools and place to jack up the car to get underneath
  2. i just realised where im from will be confusing people in this post. Im in St kilda, so anyone in Melbourne
  3. no one at all?
  4. Seems to read out like a textbook commodore ad. Faded Paint, Worn Interior, Taxi KM's, Bald Rear tyres, Oval Exhaust tip, mysterious phantom mild cams what ex ex ex owner supposedly installed. I was expecting to see an rb26 VN, that WOULD be surprising, but i am not
  5. im in! time to set some course records and knock over record amounts of cones with my nil driving skill!!!
  6. Yep, Type M onto my series 1. So its just a bolt on job more or less, not including the removal of the middle section for the Intercooler, and whatever modifying may have to be done to the back of the bar to fit otherwise. The only thing stopping me Ash is the no tools and no jack situation at my house i dont really know why i made the naive assumption that i wouldnt need any tools because i dont have a garage or driveway??? Although i suppose if i watch some episodes of macguyver, he might give me some ideas for ways around that.......... Beer quota is negotiable peoples!! for those who like a few more quiet froffies than others Anyone????
  7. Or if someone knows a panel shop that you have used that has done this and done it well for the right price (ie cheap)
  8. I posted this in the members only section, but i thought i would post it here too. ok, so im doing the ole "cut the middle out of a type m front bar for a series 1 r33" routine As i live in a house that has no driveway or backyard, it means i have nil access to tools or supplies, which is why i wish to enlist someone to cut up the bar, and chuck it on the car (wow that rhymed) Obviously someone that has done this before that knows the best and easiest way to go about it. Reason being i dont want to pay to get the bar freighted to my parents house 3 hours away, then drive all the way there, do the work, then drive all the way back. I already have a FMIC on the car, so im not sure whether the reo needs to be modified, but it may, im really not sure on the finer details, as the intercooler was installed before i purchased the car. All i need is someone to cut it and fit it for me, and sort out where to mount the number plate. I can do the sanding and touching up myself either shoot me a PM or call me on 0408169306, since im usually at work, leave a voicemail or send me an sms if i dont pick up BUT DONT FORGET! its an easy way to earn a slab of your choice for a few hours work a nice cheap weekend!
  9. haha i cant believe this thread is still going, the discussion has gone off on so many tangents over these 8 pages i suppose theres no chance of him making an un-informed decision now thats for sure!
  10. a big +1 to nismoids post, take that advice on board because what he said is 100% true
  11. cars are shit and too expensive get another hobby, like kidnapping prostitutes
  12. stern 5 spoke 17s FTW haha! o they look pretty cool on my car, dished on the back w/255s so looks pretty tough, not in the same league as other rims though cheap and cheerful
  13. +1 for creatd. would be looking at around 200 rwkws with those mods, do yourself a favour and add a better fuel pump in there too
  14. wanna sell me your front spoiler?? haha
  15. Driving to a job interview today and saw the aftermath of an accident on the intersection of dandenong rd and chapel st. Silver r33, driver on Green P Plates, big front damage, so obviously hit someone front on, then by the looks of it someone has driven straight into the back and sandwiched the car. Nasty looking accident. So another r33 is off to the graveyard. I wonder if it was an SAU member, i hope he/she is ok, it didnt look too pretty. Stay safe everyone, traffic seems to be pretty dangerous lately (more so than usual haha)
  16. kitten plastic polish and a terry towel. takes a few applications and will fix them right up. Take you 5 minutes. May have to do it every couple of months or so depending. Dont bother with the whole sandpaper bullshit, whole lot of work for no reason
  17. PM sent regarding exhaust cheers mate
  18. if im not pre disposed ill be there
  19. If I was to buy one of the turbo fords, I wouldnt bother with the typhoon, id go for the xr6t, far cheaper and perform well, if not better than the typhoons. (from supposed reports) It really does depend on what you want, and thats the only question you yourself can answer. Your 20 years old, and you said that driving a 190rwkw car was very powerful for you, maybe it isnt that advisable to buy a 300rwkw car?? On top of that, your in uni, maybe try to buy a car as cheap as possible and save as much of that money you can, invest it possibly?? do it well and down the track you will be able to afford a much nicer car. Which is why you should bear in mind the depreciation of what car you want. For someone your age, i wouldnt bother with the ford. Everyone will agree on here how quick all the models have depreciated. Your 20, who gives a f**k about owning a comfortable car that can seat all your mates? i know i didnt at that age, and i still dont (i suppose i am only 23 now haha) thats what my daily is for. And in terms of maintenance costs, it all comes down to the condition of the car you buy. If you buy a lemon expect to pay big bucks to fix what goes wrong with it, no matter what kind of car it is. I keep my 33 in mint condition and i havent hard to fork out one dollar to fix something, because nothing has broken in the 3 years ive owned it, and maintenance has been very cheap, no more than my 2008 model proton off the showroom floor. Not bad for 15 year old car hey?? Bear in mind insurance is going to be really expensive no matter what car you get because of your age. You say its going to be a weekend car, what kind of thing are you going to do with it??? just cruise with your mates?? or go to the track and try to make some killer lap times??? Basically from what ive gathered is - 20 years old 35k burning a hole in your pocket uni student for the next 4 years wants a weekend toy for thrill My opinion - If you want to blow the 35k - Buy an Evo 7 or 8, what you'll get is a very quick, agile car that you can thrash on the track and also has 4 doors to carry your mates. Buy a stocker, get used to the power, then slowly modify it. They dont take much AT ALL to get going. Plus they dont depreciate slowly at all, meaning you will be getting a lot better return on investment when you sell it, as cars are just depreciating assets at the end of the day - the last thing you need is financial pressure on top of uni pressure. But what i would advise is to NOT spend the whole 35k on a car. if you want a weekend toy, maybe buy an s13 or something, light and easy to modify, Easy to setup for drift or track work, are a good drivers car plus they are cheap as. Would give you some cheap thrills and you can invest and/or save the rest of the money for something a bit more meaningful??? Like i said, these are questions only you yourself can answer, not anyone here.
  20. Noble Park
  21. Ill be in chaddy xmas shopping this weekend too kamikaze, and like you im also totally fine free. Im not a city native, ive only been living in the city for around a year, where im from even parking in the CBD is free, so im just not one to agree with the amount of laws and rules there are in Melbourne to penalise people in regards to things as inane and un-important as parking (within reason of course). Disagree if you will, but its simply my opinion. If i was one to have quite a bit outstanding, i would be smart and not take the offending vehicle to places where it could be detained.
  22. all agreeance with nismoid, money grabbing cvnts if youve got fines, take the tram or the train to the shopping centres haha, or get a lift. At least avoid that happening to you in that situation.
  23. i know a friend of a friend of a friend who could fix this for a price......
  24. should definitely be there, havent made any in a long time
  25. Born and raised there, but moved to melbourne in december 08, so just missed out. You werent the only one with a sau sticker brendan, but like yourself i hadnt seen any car with one. Not much going for it in terms of the import scene around that way at all.
