  1. I will be spectating so I am willing to help out In saying that though, I have zero experience when it comes to motorsports as Im a newbie here (and I mean zero, unless watching skids on youtube and v8s on tv count haha) so if you need me to help out best put me on reserve or somewhere that isn't easy to f**k up. Because Im slightly retarded and will screw it up if I find a way :-P edit, I forgot compulsory reference to long wang and mini wang....... nuff said lol
  2. I will be coming as a spectator, yes I am a NSW member so please be gentle with me, or you dont have to.....

  7. I think Lumleys excess was 600 and just car was 800. but i dont really look at excess much, Im more interested in things they cover and dont cover, but I asked a few questions of the chick at Lumleys and everything seemed covered
  8. Not sure if this is the right section, but does anyone know which is the better insurer I got quotes off NRMA (whose "market value" was half of what rebook is and more than half of what I am paying) so they are out Just Car valuing it at purchase price and will cost $1,894 and covers mods Lumleys insurance at purchase price as well for $903 and covers mods Just wondering if there is something Im missing for Lumleys. I guess it seems too good to be true so I want to make sure there isn't a reason to avoid Lumleys.

  13. Haha, I thought it may have been something to do with write off but I couldn't figure out the V, I had a few things running through my head. Damn Mondays written off accident written off car written off wreck but couldn't get the V Cool cheers I might give you a ring tomorrow to run a few things by you, always good to get a second opinion, especially when its a grey area.
  14. I went down to one of the blue slip places here in Wagga, he said I will need to put a stock ecu back in and no boost controller and should be easy enough, especially if Skid still has the stock ecu. And he said I need import paperwork too which can be a pain, being a govt department and all it might take quite a few weeks, blaargghh. At least now I know its legal to be registered in NSW 'scuse my noobness, but whats a wov? Im new to skylines and not really up to speed with things, especially terminology and the mechanical side. No idea if its ever been rego'ed in NSW or not. Unfortunately Im in Wagga so not really close, then again, I can always drive up for one of the cruise weekends, especially if you come "Terry Recommended" TM
  15. cool, well the white one looks like its very looked after. Im from Wagga myself, had popped over to catch up with some mates over the long weekend
  16. Thanks everyone. Yeah thats the RTA page I was looking at, I also rang the RTA technical enquiries today, the guy I spoke to said I need a compliance plate and a blue slip, but he said there were tons of other factors that can stop it being registered, especially mods, but he wouldnt tell me what any of those factors were despite me asking several times. I might ring again tomorrow and see if I get someone else. The seller has listed the mods as Nistune ecu eboost controller spitfire coil packs Everything else is stock, it has stock exhaust, body kit, wheels, engine bay photo looks stock Im talking with Skit at the moment about buying his GT-T, and I have a full mechanical inspection lined up next week. He doesn't have the import papers though, hopefully the fact that its currently registered and it has a compliance plate is enough. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/384590-nissan-skyline-r34-gt-t-sedan/page__p__6134961#entry6134961 Im pretty sure one of the truck dealers we buy trucks through here does blue slips, hopefully they do cars as well as trucks as we have a good working relationship with them, might pop around in the morning.
  17. Hey guys, sorry if this topic has been done to death, Ive been doing alot of searches on the forums and its hard to find anything definitive or recent Im looking at buying an R34 GT-T (pretty much stock including turbo, exhaust, intake, wheels etc) from interstate, no import papers but it is complied and has current rego. As far as I can figure out, all I need is proof of purchase, blue slip and green slip and I can register the car in NSW, hand in the old plates and get given new NSW plates. BUT........ a mate of mine who is fairly into cars says that it might not be legal to register and that he had a mate who had a silvia/180sx which he bought in vic but it wasnt legal to be registered in nsw and had to resell it in vic (Im guessing illegal mods since he does hang out with the hektic skid kiddies/P platers but he wouldn't say why it wasnt legal to be registered). I reckon he is full of BS, but unfortunately he does know a lot about cars and I know jack all. Eg he says an eboost controller with the stock turbo @ 10psi is garbage and pointless and the biggest waste of money, but I don't know turbos and he has built his VL turbo with an RB in it from scratch so I can't really call him out Can anyone help out with advice, I would rather find out before I go ahead and buy the car? Im going to ring up the RTA today, but since I deal with them with work, I know what their knowledge levels are like and have little faith in the RTA when it comes to anything obscure and specific.
  18. Hey guys, are any of you still active on these forums? I was in Albury over the weekend and saw a couple of skylines around Dean St. There was a silver R34 but I didn't get a good look at it on Sunday night, and a white R34 on Monday during the day that looked schmick as. I think the plates might have been GTTR34, gold on black slimline ones
  19. Hey everyone, I'm a long time lurker on the forums but have only recently signed up as its time for me to purchase my first skyline and get involved in the SAU community. I am looking for an R34 GT-T and I haven't found one I like on the forums or carsales that is available for purchase, so I thought a wanted to buy post would be a good place to start before I look at importing one. The details of what I am looking for are: Sedan Manual Turbo With factory spoiler/body kit Mostly stock/clean. I would only be interested in minimal mods, and only willing to pay for the "standard" sort of mods you would do such as turbo timer, head unit, alarm & immobiliser etc. No ugly ass ricer body kits, chrome dinner plates, or any mods which will cause dramas/attention from da police. This is going to be a daily/long term project of mine to do up so I would rather start from scratch and don't want the fuzz always on my back because I've bought a car with a 100 db screamer or is lowered to 10mm from the ground. Reasonable kms, from my looking around, 90k - 140k kms seems to be a standard amount of kms for this model car Colour, would prefer bayside blue (haha I wish) or silver. Would consider white, but no black, My current car is black and its too hard to keep clean as a daily as I live in a rural area Not sure if its worthwhile saying, but I'm not interested in anything cheap that has been run into the ground/tracked/used for hektik skids brah. I'm after something that is quality and been looked after like any skyline should be If anyone wants a reference, something like Skid's R34 is exactly what I'm after http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/384590-nissan-skyline-r34-gt-t-sedan/page__p__6134961#entry6134961 Cheers Daniel
  20. Im a newbie here, but I will try to be there, won't be racing though, but Canberra is closer to me than Syd and I figure its a good way to start getting involved
  21. ninja skillz ftw http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?app=classifieds&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=4267
  22. Hey guys, Ive ended up here a few times thanks to Google over the last couple of years so I thought I would say register and say hi. The name's Daniel and I hail from Wagga in rural NSW. I have a stock 2003 Hyundai Tiburon V6 which I have had for over 5 years, however my dream car has always been an R34 Skyline. Hopefully will be in the market to purchase one in the next 12 months or so (could buy one now if I sold my Tiburon but I don't want to be car-less for a period of time). Ive never been hands on with cars so I wouldn't have a clue about anything mechanical, computers are more my forte, so I will often ask for advice or just google stuff. Anyways, enough blabber, here is some eye candy. Im just hoping you don't burn heretics for not posting skyline photos!!
