If it's a pre-1993 model then definitely consider what 466OTS said with the crank sleeve and oil pump. Would like to offer advice on the paint job and the dents but I'm not sure what that industry is like in Canada... For parts closer to your end of the world, check out FRSport and Raw Brokerage, they seem to have a really good range and decent pricing too.

It's never a sure price when these things happen. Spun bearing means you might as well rebuild the engine seeing as it'll be pulled apart anyway. You'll have the price of the parts (bearings, pistons, piston rings, rods etc.), then labour will be split into things like removing and replacing the engine (which I've seen quotes of $1000+ for this), then machining costs and assembly (around $1500 for just assembly). There's no straight answer but these are the kinds of figures your friend can expect. Along the way there will most likely be miscellaneous costs for random bits here and there.

Switching the new tyres to the back did the trick

Hi guys, I've searched online for quite a while and haven't found any threads that match my problem so far, so here goes. I have a problem with my AWD in the 32. It seems that the AWD is kicking in when it isn't needed. When I'm just cruising at 70km/h on constant throttle, the torque meter shows a constant 5% and increases with more throttle (never more than 10% though). This causes the car to stutter ever so slightly while cruising. Basically, the car is always in AWD mode. A bit of background: This only began straight after I had the front two tyres switched to brand new ones. The tyres are the same size all around. After having this done, I also had the wheels aligned. My suspicion is that it's to do with the alignment. This problem wasn't there before. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers in advance.
