Hey all. I'm about to start modding my car again and am changing my high-flow turbos for a couple of the new T28-10's. While I'm at it I will be changing the intercooler from stock to a new Trust cooler. I was going to go with the Trust Type 23 - 302x600x115 (3 core) however my mechanic adised I should be going with the Trust Type 24 - 284x600x76 (2 core) citing that the larger cooler restricts airflow to the radiator too much and that the Type 23 is good enough. Experiences - Thoughts??? Thanks

I see from your join date you have been around the import scene for a while and obviously have a detailed knowledge of the motorsport activities of most skyliners. You must have been to the sprints, drags, hillclimbs, rallys etc and got a good count of imports (especially skylines) competing in these events. I for one, as someone who joined a forum such as this for both information and comradeship, find your comments fairly inflamatory. You make the blanket statement that unless you are out there thrashing your car - you are a gutless smartarse that has a skyline for a dick extension. I am quite surprised that as many skyline drivers undertake the levels of motorsport that they do, based on the costs involved. My car is my daily driver - which is the case with most who undertake weekend motorsports. I am a little luckier than most that I have an income which allows me to do a little more in terms of modifications and repairs. In the time I have been sprint racing I have rebuit the engine 4 times, gone through god knows how many sets of tyres, fixed I don't know how many breakages. I have pondered side by side racing, however I cannot justify the risk and cost of doing this with my daily driver. I also cannot justify or afford to buy a dedicated race car. These come with the requirement for a tow vehicle and storage amongst other things. You would also need to be at every event in Australia just in case you turned up to see who was there or not. If your intention was to stir an emotional debate you may have succeeded - but you are certainly not doing yourself any favours on this forum.

One of my staff has had their car with that firm for over 6 months awaiting a repair - when he finally got it back the quality was crap. Still ongoing with them to get things fixed. Wouldn't touch them with someone elses barge pole. I have often used (not just on the GTR) Exclusive Autos in Newstead. They are the only Ferrari repairer in Brisbane. Also do Lambo's, Audi, Porsche, etc. Not cheap - but very good. If someone else is paying - worth a try.

Just about any sign maker can do it for you - especially if you only want a couple.

Ryan, Quite common on start-up. Once you start the car (and the knock reading is high) press for reset then monitor your levels during the drive. If it gets that high from driving - worry.

Na - too much f*cking around. I think I will keep it and start work on it again. Need to rebuild the box and am looking to put on a couple of those T28-10's with a new front mount. The original is struggle a bit I think. Then I think I'll learn how to drive it properly. How do you find the PPG dogbox???
